Topical percentage and oral dosage cannot be compared. Topical is of minimal effectivity and if your thinning is rapid or massive, only 0ral Finasteride is going to save you.

Fantastic video, sir. I watched all of your videos about finasteride. The only person who provides comprehensive information is you. A small doubt, please. I am 40 years Grade NW 3a. I am taking fin 1 mg on alternate days. I also take a 14-day break after every 3 months. It has stabilized thus far. Do you believe that taking 0.5 mg daily will have some advantages over taking 1 mg every other day? I was just curious whether I should try taking 0.5 mg every other day. Thank you, Sir

If after using both oral Dutasteride, oral Minoxidil, and Keto shampoo for over a year (without sides) but is still losing alot of hair, both visibly and by hair count, how does one know if they should 1.) increase dose of Dut, 2.) add a topical anti-androgen such as Pyralutamide, or 3.) or a form of Estradiol? In watching some of your videos, there are various terms that I don't understand such as 1.) high or low androgen activity, whether increase in scalp testosterone could be an issue for some. I'd like to do something in addition to what I'm doing now but don't want to exacerbate the situation. Any input is appreciated.

Hello! I did HT a month ago in US. Everything is going fine. I am at grade 7 & age 29. Surgeon not suggesting me to take finastride as i lost all my hairs & finastride has no business left in my scalp. Do you also agree with that?

Grade 7 means your donor area may not be permanent and for that you need to take the medication or as baldness progresses further, even your implanted hair will be lost.

I have a question about oral Minoxidil, will consuming caffiene reduce the effects of Minoxidil? I heard that aspirin and ibuprofen counter acts oral minoxidil. And that caffiene has similar effects to aspirin and ibuprofen. I drink a lot of coffee and energy drinks and I'm worried I wasted 6 months of minoxidil lol

Dear Dr Bhatti, have you seen a trend of sesonal shedding in your patients? I have been on finesteride 1mg for 3 years now, and last year i started oral minoxidil 5mg and even experimented with dutasteride for 6months. I saw some good thickening of hair. But december 2023 to feb 2024 i noticed lot of shedding and suddenyl my hair was looking very thin, and this was confirmed by even my barber. I have noticed this kind of sudden thinning in february before as well. Is this common?

Yes seasonal shedding does occur and is not mostly permanent.

It does work for some.

From 2013-2020 I maintained hair well with generic oral finasteride and topical rogaine. After covid I stopped maintaining. I stayed on same protocol for 2 years still losing ground daily. In 2023 I switched to oral generic dutasteride and oral minoxidil (5mg)/day bit after a year, I'm still noticeably thinner and continue to lose ground. Since this protocol isn't working, I'm either going to switch to brand name oral Finasteride (brand Dut too expensive) or topical versions of both. Thoughts? Any input is appreciated.

Been using topical minoxidil 5% for last 1yr, it showed some good results but after 5months there was a rapid shedding of hair, then Ive been on finateride 1mg everyday for the last 6months, but again after 5months the rapid shedding has started. It's strange how once the shedding is done I don't go though any for the next 5 months. What's going on? It's so confusing. Are the protocols working or not doc?

How often do you take breaks? DHT blockers do not block all of DHT and that is the answer to your predicament. You need to follow up closely with your treating doctor.

Dr I’ve been taking Topical finasteride 1mg per day and for the first 6 month results were very good and my hair grow back. However, by seventh month i started seeing rapid hair loss again even though I’m not missing doses. Can you please help me on what to do next and why this is happening? 😢

Topical did not help you the first time. It was something else likely lifestyle change. And now you are having progression of baldness. Topical f is ineffective for unstable androgenic alopecia.

So according to no.9 if i have diffuse thinning finesteride won't work ?!

You need to know that hairline recession is well nigh impossible to control with Finasteride.

I mistakenly took 1 mg dutestride for 1 week rather than 0.5mg recommended dosage. Now I am facing low libido and errection. It might be placebo or I am confused.

Hello doctor, I have a question regarding using dutasteride for alopecia. Since sebum production is essentially upregulated by DHT and testosterone (DHT is more potent), then why did I get extremely oily skin after one month of dutasteride 0.5 daily? 100 hairs are shed daily and that is considered normal since a similar number grow back.

It's all in your head. Topical is too mild to even have any effect on hair leave alone on your libido.

Doctor you 'hv said to stop the finastride for 60 days if the candidate is planning for a baby..but yet you are saying if medication is stopped,within a month everything gained vanishes....am confused... after baby formation,if i start finastride again..can i gain back the lost follicles...or once the medication is stopped its completely lost??
