I just feel like all/most of the new jambassasors feel so... Marketed. It feels like none of them are being original or being their true selves; it feels like all they're there for is to say "omg every animal jam update is simply incredibly and I support every single action that they do." I miss when Bepper and Gellyjones especially would actually be willing to say their opinions on the updates, and whether or not they thought it was a good update. They weren't being fake and saying they loved every update. Because come on, nobody loves EVERY AJ update.

I forgot to comment earlier but I randomly found this video yesterday and I really love your channel ❤ I think this had a lot of really great information. I have a much more detailed perspective having been in the Jambassador program from the beginning, and I’ve been wanting to make a video about it myself but it’d take FOREVER to say everything I wanna say 😂 but overall I think you cleared up a lot of misconceptions, and even though there’s a lot of differences between my wave of jambassadors and the newer ones, I still think the newer jambassadors are super sweet and I’ve enjoyed getting to know them over the past few weeks since I’ve returned ❤

I personally wasn’t satisfied with it, and still feel this way- even more so honestly as all it’s done for me is helped me find even MORE misconceptions that I entirely glossed over or didn’t even know of- which is why I’m working on a part two. Hi! Former Jambassador Ellipsity here, and you made a lot of level-headed points that more people need to understand. I can confirm that a huge reason they get a lot of hate is because the community is misguided on what they can and can’t actually do for the game. They can give AJHQ suggestions on what to suggest or improve in the game, but it doesn’t always guarantee they’ll be listened to because at the end of the day, they’re not paid employees. I gave many criticisms and feedbacks that simply changed nothing because I obviously didn’t have the power that the community thinks Jambassadors have. The nostalgia also plays a huge factor in it. These newer Jambassadors are for AJ Play Wild, which is not too popular among the AJ Classic players. I resigned my role because I was the polar opposite of what you’d expect from a Jambassador. I LIKED talking about the issues, openly giving criticism, and just being relatable to the community/mirroring their opinions and concerns. It became so frustrating for me to watch AJ Classic decline that I stepped down and went down my own independent path since I’m obviously not kid-friendly and have too many strong opinions about the game, company, and the community, and I’ve never been afraid to openly talk about them. I think people were just expecting these newer Jambassadors to do the same, when the fact is that they make content for a far younger side of Animal Jam. With my content, it was quite clear I was directing it towards nostalgic AJ Classic players who are now mostly teens and adults. I actually did make a video on my channel back in May titled “Should Jambassadors Speak Out More?” and it was addressing how the community expected WAY too much from the new Jambassadors. I will openly say it, Wildworks has made a TON of decisions that I’ll never support in a million years, but giving the new Jambassadors hate for it (when their intentions are to spread a bit of positivity in the community) is just cruel. People also forget that most of the newer Jambassadors are between the ages of 13-18 now, and some are fully grown adults. So yeah, expecting the world from these teens/young adults is just unreasonable. I hated more than ANYTHING when I was a Jambassador that people assumed I didn’t have any opinions of my own, when I actually CONSTANTLY expressed my disapproval of certain updates and issues in the game. It’s unfortunate, but a lot of people assume Jambassadors are part of a hivemind and thus, they dislike them for endorsing the company. Thank you if you read this entire comment, I had a lot of thoughts as an Ex-Representative of the game. It’s refreshing to see a non-Jambassador give a level-headed take on the topic of Jambassadors for once, so good job on that! 👍 🖤

I really enjoy watching wistereamoon. She feels real, and not just a bot programmed to smile.

I guess one of the big reasons is subscriber count. The older ones were very well known at the time and have accumulated thousands of subscribers. They had more fame, the community was united, it was fun (also nostalgia). My issue with the new jambassadors is they seem to be doing a similar thing each of them. If you look at their posts, how they talk, what they say, and how they act, it's very similar and identical. It's not super unique. Perhaps it's because I'm an older bean, but seeing just content that feels like rainbow mush isn't very appealing. The other thing I guess is the recent controversy with Wildworks as a company. There has been a lot of increased criticism and complaints about the company, so anything associate with that is perceived negative.

Yeah. Really valid. The Jambassadors aren’t really my cup of tea either, but as I see it, there’s a certain way you should approach kids when making content for them, which, is why the jambassadors (and most kid’s entertainment) can come off as really shallow or same-y

@@kijjikon At the same time, kids are not shallow like that either. I know a good kid's book series that was not only popular with kids but also with adults as well (Redwall). It wasn't childish, it was entertaining, and it was sad too. Other examples include Narnia, LOTR, Star Wars, etc. The idea of 'Kid's' content has really shifted to stuff that can reach almost toddlers. But the other issue I guess is the demographic, most AJ players are female. So that also, the content will shift towards that audience.

I think the main thing about the old jambassadors that sets them apart from the new ones is the fact that jambassadors weren’t a thing at all at one point.. and when it started to become a thing those roles were filled by people who were already loved so much by the community. it’s also probably why these new ones aren’t getting recognized as much

i played animal jam as a kid, and i loved it so much. i miss when is was actually about learning. now, the only people who are playing are just advertising their stores - another weird thing - i miss when we would go on top of that stone bridge and jump on it until it fell lol. you go there now and its a ghost town. i miss when it was geared toward children, when it was wholesome. now, its akin to a dystopian nightmare

this randomly came up in my recommendations. As someone who is 18 and played the game years and years ago, when people like aparri, wisteriamoon, lilacpetal and such were massive content creators, for sure nostalgia is definitely a massive reason why it feels different, and mostly, because it IS different. playwild or animal jam now is more focused on than it used to be in those times as well, i think as well the scale of the community is much smaller than it used to be, don't get me wrong, there still is one, but if you compare the current jambassadors who have a couple hundred or few thousand subscribers, to the enormity of hundred of thousand subscribers back in the day, frankly, the scale is just masses smaller. i think events like jamcon and vidcon also encouraged this because it allowed players to engage with their favourite creators on an even larger scale, it sucks that the game isn't what is used to be, but its fun once in a while to stumble accross aj content for old times sake, but honestly this was enjoyable and you made really good and valid points

I think you would make a great Jambassitor! You are really kind and friendly, and honest as well. I feel like if you became one, I would at least have nostalgia about you. I’m not sure if I worded that correctly lol

I've been within the animaljam community since early 2017, and obviously there are many changes to animaljam itself. I think the most disappointing thing for all the earlier OG players is that it feels like they tossed away "animaljam classic" and now Wildworks is only putting their effort into AJPW. It's a bit hard to accept, but I guess as time passes things change and people move on... I think the main reason that people maybe don't like the new jambassadors as much is because the ENTIRETY of the game is different and so is the community. I have hope that these new jambassadors will bring light to animaljam's present state and still honor its' past rather than forget about what it used to be all about. great video, very insightful for new and old jammers. thank you :)

The reason why I dislike the new Jambassadors (on my opinion) is that they are all too positive and seem like they have been payed by AJHQ to say everything they say in their videos. Most of them overly hyper a but annoying and always gush about how good the updates are as if they are scripted, anyone else noticed that? Most of them dont seem like genuine people in personality at least, it scares me to think what some of some of are like irl. (REMEMBER, THIS IS NOT INTENDED AS ANY HATE, THIS IS ALL JUST MY OPINION!!)

Your opinion is valid, but a lot of the reason why they act like that is because they’re catering towards kids- like elementary aged kids. As someone who wants to be a teacher one day there’s a certain way you should act around kids. While you and I can have a level headed conversation about complex topics because we are teens/adults, little kids might be upset by people they look up to talking down on things they like- even if it’s just minor things they don’t like. For example, let’s say a jambassador doesn’t like the rainbow raccoon in the update. They could say ‘yeah I really don’t like this, it seems lazy.’ But that can easily upset a kid. That’s like if a kid goes up to you and said ‘hey I love powerangers Wanna see my collection’ and you saying ‘no, sorry I don’t like powerangers, I think it’s boring.’ You weren’t rude or anything but being a kid they’ll still get upset because they’re a kid and so your lack of interest in it breaks their heart. Instead, the best think you could say is something like ‘sure, powerangers are okay, but I like Pokémon more’ or in animal jam terms, ‘the rainbow raccoon isn’t my favorite, but it’s a good addition to the game because some people will like it” Which yeah, is totally sugar coating it, and making it seem like you like every aspect of the update all the time, but that’s the way kids take it best.

@@kijjikon Maybe Im wrong here but I kinda disagree? I get with the intent you are saying, but I think a big part of what the old Jambassadors had was authenticity and relatability, and imo that comes with not liking things about your favorite game. Even in the 6-12 age demographic, kids still have their likes/dislikes and I think they're old enough to understand other peoples opinions. There were still plenty of kids 6-12 who watched Julian2, Ellipsity, etc back in the day and they acted more mature to their audience, while still making it geared towards kids. Now if animal jam was geared towards around the preschool age then I'd understand, but it's not like the jambassadors were trashing the game in the first place anyway.Now the role is PURELY for advertising and marketing the game, which is different from what the Jambassador role was originally, which was to REPRESENT the game via your content.

Former Jambassador Ellipsity here, and while you do make a good point that we made our content more relatable, I often made it clear back then that my channel was strictly for the older AJ Classic audience who grew up with the game and didn’t want to quit. I tried the kid-friendly act for a while, and it was restricting me from being myself in my content. Eventually I realized that I wasn’t a good fit for the position, because the Jambassador title should only go to people who can handle all the stress and volatile nature of the community. So it’s perfectly valid that the current Jambassadors make wholesome content that strictly appeals to kids. AJPW is full of way younger players than AJ Classic, and there are way more AJPW Jambassadors nowadays. You’re definitely not wrong though! Just keep in mind the difference in the ages of players in the AJ Classic community as opposed to the AJPW players. AJPW Jambassadors are targeting a totally different demographic with their content, as well as a whole new generation of AJ players.

Agreeing with what east said in the comments, you do remind me of Leamonpuppy as well. I really don't like the new jambassadors just because they seem way too nice that it feels fake. It's like they HAVE to be nice and behind the screen they may not be that nice person you see on the game. I really just don't like the fact that AJHQ has to abandon ajc. It was my childhood game for years. 😓 I've been trying to get more active on my accounts, especially my main on ajc, since I'm on spring break and also since I hadn't logged on my main for months now. Because they feel like they are trying to be super aesthetic and fake. The old jambassadors felt playful and actually funny. They felt unique. Aparri, Wisteriamoon, Julian2, Bepper, Sethyy etc. 😢

As an old AJ player, I feel that the reason why no one pays attention to the current Jambassadors, Is because their all focused on Play wild (well, now just Animal Jam). Most of the people who have nostalgia for the game, is with the original AJ classic. All of the previous Jambassadors focused mostly on AJ classic. They quit around the time the original AJ's popularity was dropping, so it's understandable why a bunch of people also left. So to come back and not only find out that AJ did the name swap of Play wild and AJ to just AJ and AJ classic, but now all of the new Jambassadors are only play wild focused, sets a bitter taste in the classic players mouths as it feels like their abandoning the original game. Of course, AJHQ has their reasons, Classic is made in Flash and with flash being complicated and outdated, it's hard to update while AJ is made in a newer program and easy to update. But they promised almost a year ago they would update Classics code to something modern so they can continue updating and as of right now, that hasn't happened. I don't have any ill emotions towards the new Jambassadors, their doing their best and joined out of a passion for the game. However I was sadly never able to join the AJ play wild groove, I tried, I really did, but it just....didn't feel the same. Sorry for the long comment! Just sharing my thoughts!

The main reason that the community is against the jambassadors has more to do with the fact that Wildworks chose them- we chose the originals. They had personalities, opinions, creative ideas, and were not simply a product for marketing. They started out as people who enjoyed the game rather than figureheads of the community. i don't even know a single one of the new jambassadors and have never heard ANYTHING from them. They are functionally replacements from a better era- they're inferior.

To my knowledge a big reason why community figure heads weren’t chosen was because some of the figure heads like the BIG ones, either didn’t want to be jambassadors, were minors, or had broken aj TOS in the past.

@@kijjikon I don't remember Kek hacking in the past, I do remember about Leamonpuppy. I just think that overall wildworks has become extremely predatory in the money department. The game has always been more socially enlightening rather than teaching about animals (it really helps you learn how economies work, how to handle your items, how to bargain, typing speeds especially, etc). But it goes to say that you need a personality to get attached to, theres no personality to connect with in this case.

well let's start with people actually knew who the old jamassadors were. The new jambassadors though are amazing people just feel like nobodies and I mean that in the nicest way possible-

@@simplycloud_ But you have to think about how many people are giving this person gifts. Queen Wolf is an incredibly popular AJ KZreadr. The amount of gifts she gets per per week is probably quite a bit. Most of these KZreadrs have low inventory space as well, and I personally consider it unrealistic for them to keep gifts they simply don’t want. It’s not like in the physical world where there is no “inventory limit” and such.

Old video sorry, but isnt the age range for Jambassadors over 13? Minors arent legally bound to NDA's, they can break them and not face any legal trouble, although i doubt jambassadors will throw away their title if the NDA means nothing serious LOL

i don't like the new jambassadors (some of them, not all) bc i had bad experiences with 3 of them, and i don't have any experience with the old ones bc since i started play aj in 2020 lol so i don't know them, just what they did.

@@kijjikon well, in one of my experiences with a jambassador (who I won't say who is) they simply didn't do anything about some of they fans telling me to go away from them because I don't have "many rares" like them, which I don't they was on the same level, in fact they seemed to agree with what his fans were saying, I know it's not they job to take care of the community, but this happened literally because of they presence. This is one of my worst experiences with one of them ;-; and i was not asking for rares or something like that lol, ik they wont give free things, i was just trying to talk.

I wanted to say that not all jambassadors are adults! You have to be 13 or older to be one ^^

Honestly I don’t have anything against the new jambasators however from my personal opinion they are a bit too over-corporatized and lack the same feeling as the old ones. Julian2 was my favorite (idk if he was ever a jambasator but his content was amazing and he created the spinny boi thing). I miss old animal jam and really want it to go back to what it was, Aj play wild (yes I’m still calling it that) lacks the spirit that the original game had. I’ve moved on from animal jam but it still has a special place in my heart

While I get what you mean for the last part of the video, I have to say toxic positivity is a huge issue, and some serious things that affect childrens safety is often ignored and played off as "negative" or "drama" when it's genuinely helpful information, remember the whole predator stuff? Ajhq acted like it was some drama when it was people trying to keep others safe from danger. I know you likely aren't trying to say that "predators scary, so it negative and shouldn't be talked about cause negative" but idk, that last part rubbed me the wrong way a bit (no shade again ik u likely were not tryna say that)

I still think they ruined their game by switching the focus to Play Wild.

I feel like the new Jambassadors have little to no original personalities and it’s really upsetting, as if they are robots made to please the marketing side of animal jam instead of entertaining many. I also feel like they are more selfish towards their fans and as soon as they get a gift they accept it immediately with no say about it like robots. Their giveaways are never to please their fans either, just to make themselves feel like a good person. I much prefer the newer animal jam KZreadrs that aren’t Jambassadors because they have personalities and don’t seem to make their videos just like every other Jambassador

more i like what jambassadors i bet ya my videos are better than the videos made by any jambassador mine some -times has lore and story behind it like hidden messages in the descriptions to add a creepy atmosphere! ... and yet i only have 68 subscribers? what n n a a c h s v l y e m please

For me I just dislike them cause they don't play classic lol.
