The hate for what happened to Feral makes a lot of sense. It was a build up to shit for NFTs with Cinder, which if you know what NFTs are, they’re super harmful to the environment because of their carbon output. For a company who was supposedly meant to be advocating for nature, it’s a real slap in the face about where their priorities are. I don’t think harassment would do anything in this case because Stacy Clark has made it very clear that he doesn’t care and won’t be changing his mind, but it makes a lot of sense why people are upset about that. I’m upset too, and no matter how much he tries to justify it by claiming that they’re working on “making the output less,” that’s essentially impossible and he shouldn’t have continued the plans with his knowledge of the harm of NFTs (he is very aware, if you look it up.) I still play Animal Jam, because I love it. And I don’t harbor any negative feelings towards regular WildWorks workers. I just think Clark has made it really clear that he cares way more about business and money than anything else.

Fun fact both the words Feral and Cinder are censored in ajpw. Found this out due to trying to call my Buddy by her nickname and aj refusing to let me 😂

If they go through with this I personally would like them to continue the story they were forming in Animal Jam before it became Animal Jam Classic. The last thing to happen was the phantom fortress being destroyed, and finding the temple in Balloosh talking about Juno the Arctic Wolf Alpha, the Sabertooth Alpha (currently unnamed),the Direwolf Alpha (also unnamed) , and about someone named Star. As someone who adores a great adventure and collecting stories I hated when they dropped the adventures into the abyss. So if they go and remake Animal Jam I would absolutely love it if they could bring back adventures especially for creatures underwater and in the sky. Because as much as I love the loot I get from The Forgotten Desert, it gets old real fast. Plus ocean animals in general just need a complete overhaul on everything. So yeah thats my want from this. Who knows? Maybe Star will turn out to be the true child of Zios and Mira. Maybe we'll finally meet Zios and Mira. Who knows? I just want adventures back!

I read a story once on the Animal Jam Writing Wiki about Juno, Star & Fang. It was called Juno: The Sacrifice, you can look it up to read it. Fang was the Sabertooth alpha and Star was the Direwolf alpha. That's what the fan story said, at least. Not sure if the names are canon though. Though I do remember there being like, stone/bronze alpha statue items that represented each animal's alpha, including the more obscure ones, and there were statues which represented Fang & Star as well I believe, so maybe that's where they got that from. Just letting you know!

I legit think it has a solid chance as long as they keep things mostly the same while also have some quality of life updates. This would be a like medium reset. Not soft nor hard. If anything I see this as Animal Jam 1.5

It has a chance for sure, but imo WildWorks doesn’t have the best track record with handling big projects.

I think it has a chance as long as they understand a few things. First off, I think it’d be an issue if wildworks kept the controversial items. This might anger players with Headdresses/Tiki Masks, but if it’d be better to correct their actions and remove the items/change the items into other items, it’d be better. I’ve seen a Tumblr User’s concept of turning the Headdress into Emo Hair, which I feel like would be a huge thing that would make people feel somewhat better about the headdress being gone. Second off, I feel like someone said they’d be making it back into a web browser game, which means more players could play it like they played on Puffin. I know a few friends who had to quit because of the loss of the web browser playability, myself included. It also means I could play at school again, which I have fond memories of playing at the end of the school day, including finding a Jambassador in his den and being in a video of his with credit (lifop fans wya?) Overall, it has a good chance of a revival if people are looking for playable on browser version of the classic version again. Not sure if some jambassadors would return, but gee it would be worth it if they did!

As a native I feel I have a right to speak on this. I personally do not see an issue with headdresses in the game because nobody that wears them means any real harm. I have the whole headdress set and if I got them stripped from me I would probably quit as that's where most of my worth comes from and AJ is only still popular because of the rarity system. Even if the item got turned into something else, if people don't like the way it looks, or are unhappy with something with the item, the demand goes down, and everyone loses their worth. AJ would basically be shooting themselves in the foot removing a bunch of their rarer items, as that's the only thing keeping people around, headdress/tiki masks or not (however tikis and hds especially have good demand)

I thought I was the only person who remembered LIFOP left on the Internet 😭 my best friend and I would binge it at sleepovers and once my brother and I went to Ellipsity’s den during a livestream and talked to him and some other fans, it was pretty fun and he was really nice. I miss my LIFOP era now

The story of Thanksgiving we’re taught itself is terrible, as most of it is lies that do not tell anything of the genocide we learn of later. To add fuel to the fire and add a cultural item during that time and only during that time, is an understandable reason why people would in fact be mad. Anyone can use it, and the item is incredibly popular too, as it was back then. I’ve seen people say they wouldn’t play the remake if it didn’t have headdresses, and that is a terrible thought with the context of the item. If AJHQ added a item that was related to a tragedy to your minorities, specifically around a time where people are celebrating the struggles of your ancestors, how would that feel?

About the last part, the community is really argumentative when speaking about if ajhq cares about their players or not. I’ve had good and bad interactions with their moderators, especially the ones who answer my help emails when something wrong happens with my animal jam account but mainly good. When I was hacked they gave me 12,000 sapphires on my account, this was after specifying how old, active, money spent on, my account was. It wasn’t worth half my account but it was nice of them considering that sapphires are a huge reason for AJS profit. I also gave them questions about my lost animals asking if their resources can actually restore them, they told me that they couldn’t but to wait for future updates incase an animal i requested comes back to stores. Few months later coincidentally, multiple animals i used to have came back in stores, including some main ones I put in my emails that I wanted back. I know that spending money after you were hacked ISNT the best option for many but I like the time they spend into their updates and how community involved they are. They care about our opinions and feelings to their game and sometimes it doesn’t even feel money motivated, we don’t pay them to answer my emails longer than this comment after all 😭

I love how everyone complains aboyt headdresses being "cultural appropriation" but no one mentions sombreros.

I know, right?? They can complain about a headdress but not a Sombrero... even if there is an ajc 2, I still think those items should be there, imo. People just need to stop complaining and making an issue because what I'd say is just get over it and ignore it because if it really bothers them, just leave instead of making a scene out of it.

​@christinahein8472 I think the difference is that one item has more cultural value than the other. The headdress is seen as something to be earn for and not something that anyone can wear. The headdress is a symbol of bravery and honour and only a person who is honoured can wear the headdress from a tribe member who crafts it. If someone wears wears the headpiece it is considered disrespectful to the Native Americans because the person hasn't done anything to earn it. Now for the sombreros, people who are Hispanic don't really care about other people wearing this hat, unless the person goes around in a full costume and pretend to be Mexican and insult their culture. The sombrero has cultural and historical significance but it is a hat that anyone can wear. I think it depends on what is considered important to that culture and whether if it's allowed to be used to people outside that culture.

nah sombreros aren't bad they can stay, as a mexican i don't see any problem with them, i wish i could use one on my silly animal but i think they are only for members sadly

As someone who started playing in the beta and started drifting to other games around 2014, my biggest problem with Animal Jam has always been the aggressive monetization. Mind you, I think it's great memberships are more common and offer so much! But for a free to play game, there isn't much to play for free. Now to be FAIR I havent played in a few years minus hopping on to check out the new stuff, and I hope this has gotten better. If anyone has been playing let me know! I think the best thing they added was the adventuring mode but when it released it was mostly members only and I don't remember being able to do much. I think that part of the game has a lot of potential to keep it alive since it was mostly built on mini games and dressing up.

Tbh aj community cannot be GRATEFUL. AJ isn’t perfect, nor is wildworks. But it’s no need to just be negative about every single thing they put into the game. Wildworks puts a lot of effort into the game still and classic not being updated isn’t their fault.

Well, as you kinda mentioned, AJC isn't on mobile. If they add that capability, there's a lot more chance it will gain audience. And advertisement, use AJPW and workers to promote the game as well. I think that would be a huge help to the business. :D

I feel like the only way Classic could maybe get in the eyes of a younger audience would be if there were an app of some sort, which would just be dumb to do with ajpw still kicking, so I am anxious but also excited to see what they'll do.

I heard that it will be desktop and mobile, so pretty much everyone will play. One of the reasons I don't play classic is it is desktop, I feel like if they have it be desktop and mobile they could get more players. I could be wrong though, I would be extremely happy if they made it for all devices. ^^

Tbh, all I want from the recode is: A). A non-member flying animal, and therefore making The Forgotten Desert open to everyone B). A better experience for non-members. I've played AJ for years (less so since 2018-ish) and I haven't been a member once, and I probably got the "unlock more by becoming a member!" scren far too many times. I just wish they turned the monetization down SIGNIFICANTLY, instead of pushing it in everyone's faces every time C). An easier way to get diamonds. They can honestly go the AJPW way and make acheivements for minigames give diamonds, or figure out a new way, I dunno. I just want diamonds.

I wish we can play as member animals in ajc without glitching. Example: Just like ajpw, except you have to be member at-least once to buy the animal in order to keep it as a nm when your membership expires.

3:14 - you can say that again, ive seen people make pedophilie jokes, racist jokes, arguments about children shouldnt be on aj classic, the aj community has clearly been mentally unwell, like i just came back for the nostalgia, the roleplays, the adoption centers but all i got was mentally unwell people who make dark jokes.

Animal Jam Classic REVAMPED is the real name I would wanna see. Or something like recharged

I don’t think they should do anything to the game. It is good where it is at with the rarity system and everything else, no need to change the CLASSIC experience. We’ve played this game for years, just to see it get changed. At this point just make a 3rd Animal Jam game if Play Wild aint good enough of a game.

I am an AJC player at heart. I’ve tried AJPW but it just isn’t the same. Honestly, I’m convinced this update is made for current players more than anything. But because this is going to take years to update they can carefully curate something that can give a medium to make everyone happy. Not completely changing the entire game but just polishing it up a bit and allowing the game to finally put out new items because AJHQ had their hands a bit tied with the separation of Adobe Flash. Nobody will ever be fully happy, but I think the company has been listening to fans and taking notes very carefully.

IF the new ajc game is on chromebook then there will be a huge rise in players. it is a reason why there is less active players considering alot of players used to use chromebooks as they are affordable, so when they were no longer compatible with the introduction to the new app version of ajc there was a huge fall in active players

I haven't a clue on the aj classic community/economy/activity ever since the adobe flash thing in 2018ish? But I do think they could benefit even a tiny bit if animal jam 2 is playable on Chromebook. Well, at least from their child to late teen demographic. I first started my aj classic obsession around 2015 & it lasted until it was unplayable on chromebooks. on Laptops & PC's are pricy, and not a crazy amount of middle/high schoolers have them. It might just be me being cheap though. Please let me know what you all think!

Also Club Penguin, Webkinz and Moshi Monsters still exist! They are just fan owned now and are called New Club Penguin, Webkinz (Never got taken down), and Moshi Monsters Rewritten. Also there is Toontown Rewritten and Toontown Corporate Clash. So if those games are to your fancy you can absolutely still play them for videos or leisure!

Its like a giant patch update so I vote we call it Animal Jam quilt. Edit. Another thing the community does is call AJ money hungry and while i do understand where theyre coming from, its a free to play game. Updating AJ classic is a MASSIVE undertaking and the funds have to come from somewhere. Microtransactions arent in classic, but theyre in play wild, so thats where its gonna be. Another edit. I don't see why people have to cause an issue now over headdresses being "culturally inappropriate." Why make an issue now rather than before? They can have all their things and what they celebrate, etc., but they cause such an issue over a pixel? People will even start saying hate to other people in jamma that have headresses and saying "well people sacrificed for it" and I'm sorry this is so long but what about the rest of the items that are "culturally inappropriate"??? They never complain about that. I also do believe the community is very toxic, which has actually caused many people to quit as a result. A good handful of the community (not everybody, of course) have just become very rude and hurtful. It seems those kinds of people will never learn to appreciate what they have and accept it. It's sad to see that the community will and probably always be toxic and try to ruin anything that ajhq tries to add in the game. I understand that ajhq tries their best and although I'm not interested with any of the box items or the stuff they have in the shop in play wild where you pay with real money, I can see they try hard and do their best but unfortunately some don't appreciate it. Also just something else to add to my "essay comment"(sorry btw, lol) it would be good to be able to move classic over to like a website or like you mentioned something with the code? It would be easier than downloading it, imo because it's hard with the lag in classic lately. The devs in AJ are at least LGBTQ friendly and not racist (I assume) a game I shall not name, still has a ridiculously happy community, despite the revealed opinions the devs have. Even though many creators left, there's still a huge fan base. Animal jam is way smaller, but the devs are supportive of LGBTQ people and of course, young kids. They also listen to their community, and try to change things to make the community smile, even if most don't like it. ❤😊

I’d be so happy if it works out. Even tho I’ve quit and gave everything away. It’d be fun to restart from the ground up Ans relearn the rarity system.

The people that don’t see an issue with the headdress **really** need to brush up on the history of them. I’ll go ahead mention that I’m not an expert on the culture, nor am I someone of the culture or have ancestors that are of the culture. But as far as I understand it, a headdress is not something that everyone and anyone can wear as they please. A headdress is supposed to symbolise leadership and each feather is **earned.** Headdresses cannot be compared to any and all clothing items that are associated with different cultures, like say, a sombrero (as mentioned in another comment). As far as I can find, an item like a sombrero doesn’t have historical meaning and is simply a fashion item that happens to be associated with Mexican culture (if there’s anyone of Mexican culture here in the comments, please correct me if this is wrong. Google can only do so much🥲). The point is, it’s disrespectful to have them in the game. Side note; I’m also just astonished at the audacity of some people who aren’t a part of American Indian culture that say it isn’t disrespectful. Like, I would think that the people who are part of that culture and are knowledgeable in that culture would have more of a say, no?

ive lost a lot of my interest in animal jam classic since it stopped getting updated. im honestly pretty excited about ''animal jam 2'' if it means that it can start getting real updates again. i was really, really happy when i found out that opossums were added into animal jam play wild since they're one of my favorite animals and i really hope they'll be added onto animal jam classic one day.

I agree! About the cultural appropriation, I don’t think it’s my job to speak as I am not a part of these communities. I’ve heard jammers complaining about cultural appropriation, but I’ve never seen anyone that’s actually a part of these communities talk about it. Honestly Idrm about AJ 2 as long as it doesn't mean everyone will quit aj classic, since it's already pretty empty. But it also still feels a bit unnecessary since for me, AJ is so nostalgic considering it's one of the first games I've ever played, and I've been playing for about 4-5 years now, and I want to see aj as a nostalgic, fun game I enjoy, rather then a fun nostalgic game I enjoy + new reboot that won't feel the same

Genuinely, I don’t see Animal jam surviving another decade if they attempt an Animal Jam 2 with a whole Overwatch style wipe. If they attempt to move over items and delete major “controversial items” (headdresses), they will fundamentally destroy the entire system. They are uprooting twelve or so years of built content here and that’s quite a dangerous uptaking. If it does work, it could give traction to a dying game. However, Classic already brings in money consistently for memberships for next to no development. I would much rather them advertise it as an improved experience rather than it being the end-all-be-all. I have no faith in the Wildworks company and resolve to not spend any more money on their products whenever possible. If it does happen to sunset, I will mourn the community that I have grown up with and learned from.

Yea I can definitely agree on blacklash on almost everything in the AJ community it's insane these days. Nothing is perfect.. doesn't have to be. I'd love AJ Classic to be improved and I am looking forward to it. I'd love to explore the new stuff that comes out when it comes out. I'd love to make content on it as I don't play AJPW as much as most ppl do. I love AJ Classic and it's been close to me for many years. Idc if AJ re-releases items.. I only know items with rare tags are guaranteed to not return to stores whatsoever so I am not surprised. I'd love to see more animals, adventures, lore, etc. There's still a lot of potential and ppl need to chill out a bit and give it a chance and not kill it entirely. This is a great video Kiiji!

(my opinion) tbh I feel like the AJ community and most users and some AJ tubers rlly can’t take 1 thing and be ok with it- (also I agree with @frogz_ajpw ) bc once this came out AJ community went BOOM though this on social media and ik they not rlly trying to throw main AJ away but definitely some people are saying “ idk why people don’t get hoard of the same thing “ AND “ why did AJ even make classic they should of made a better one” so that’s what I got hints of most the time and ik that’s their choice and opinion but I’m just saying they should at least take AJ classic and play wild for granted !! Btw I love your videos!

Thank you!!! Also like you are so right. People just eat everything alive I swear. I know I make critical videos myself, but I like to make it very clear I absolutely adore aj and so much about it regardless! Both classic and pw.

I think that they should replace headdresses with a different item that doesn't appropriate culture. However there are issues with this such as, people getting angry that the item was replaced, what item would they even replace it with?, and actually making sure all players get the item if they previously had the headdress

What about if all our items look bad on the new avatar? How about your spikes look horrible and everyone gets mad! All beta accounts might be gone.. all animal jam classic will look different! All my childhood could be washed away cuz people want updates.. I DONT CARE IF UPDATES AREN’T HAPPENING AS LONG AS EVERYONE HAS THERE ACC! Imagine all the items you worked for, the hours you traded and aj tries to do a good thing and update there game and ya have to start from scratch! AND THEN EVERYTHING GONNA BE GONE! So if u read this aj just try and make it for everyone, like I always say, don’t help if some people won’t accept it.

they already made a new game, play wild. Don’t let them ruin the classic experience. Like why change the classic game, them changing the game I’ve played for years makes me sad.

Animal Jam Fandom = Pokemon Fandom. They're both toxic and all the people in both fandoms are just whiners and cry babies Just shut up and enjoy the games, or don't play them at all. I'm in the Pokemon Fandom, and I never seen such cry babies when it comes to 3D Games. They just want everything to go back to the 2D pixel games, but I like 3D better than 2D.
