    On the "one sacrifice", what really got me to understand this is when Dr. Pitre made the connection with the memorial sacrifice of the Passover. There the father would tell his children, "it is because of what the Lord did for *me*", as if every father, of every generation, was part of that first Exodus.

    On the question about the body. Thinking of it logically in spirit Jesus after the Ressurection, I think it like the Transfiguration Christ went through in Gethsemane but more fully. I.e. in the Transfiguration, Jesus shows the Disciples that were with him not only his glory but a glimpse of what awaits them and us.

    It is a pity that your videos do not offer a "transcription" feature as others do, which would allow those of us who choose, to pour over your words in written form thus better absorbing the message over a longer period of time. I find that if I follow along in the transcript and archive them, I better understand the point being made. Since transcription is not offered, I find I skip over those videos frequently to seek out ones that are transcribed, like your "sister" group Catholic Productions and Dr. Brant Pitre.

    In CatholicProduction, you’re actually paying for the transcription feature. Here, it’s basically free. I’m a supporter of both, and I do love having transcriptions but I doubt we’ll ever have that here (unless there’ll be a payment scheme in the future for that).

    @@freda7961 thanks for your reply however, I am more confused now. When you say "you're paying" for the transcription feature, are you saying I am paying? I have followed Dr. Pitre for years now and have never paid for one transcription? It has always been provided free to me. If you are saying that those groups producing videos must pay to offer the transcription service, it seems to me that EWTN and Catholic Answers, some of the biggest Catholic presences on the internet are the ones not offering the service whereas most smaller groups providing videos do offer the service.

    I think we might be talking about different things. Once you select a video on KZread and begin playing it, just below the video showing, there are three dots that you can select. They are found to the right of the “save” option. If you click on the three dots you are then presented with a selection of either “report” or “open transcript”. If you select open transcript, a smaller screen will pop up showing the actual transcription, word for word, along with a timestamp. Most videos on KZread offer these transcripts however, I’ve noticed EWTN and Catholic Answers and others do not in most cases. It is this “transcript” to which I am referring. I am not referring to a situation where you can take the video to another website on the internet and get a transcription if you are willing to pay for it. Hope this helps to clear up any misunderstanding

Old Tradition's tricks how to deal with the stories. Satan or DEvil is better "defined" by philosophy than Scripture; in Gen3 there is no name "Adam" but only the term "humankind, or man"(in Hebrew)

    Well, even cremation is allowed these days, as long as the ashes are kept together in a grave, i.e., scattering is not allowed. It was only forbidden because it was being used as a way to express denial of the resurrection of the body. My point is, I don't think the Church is *too* concerned with how the body is prepared for burial, since the actual condition of the body here doesn't affect the resurrected body we will receive.

    The Bible teaches that from the dust we came and back to the dust we will go. There's no need to worry about the earthly body we have now because we get a new one that's better. To be concerned about keeping all your body parts together LOL for Resurrection is fruitless. What about all the people that died at sea and became fish food? And all the people that were burnt and turn to dust? I'm pretty sure God's got this, it's not worth any concern.

    The real questions is why do humans choose to be evil?

  • @JohnR.T.B.
    @JohnR.T.B.2 жыл бұрын

    People don't ask why can't God allow bad things and evil to happen all the time without any shred of good? If that's the case then nothing will exist in the first place, or that let good things exist so that evil may be done upon them; if the latter is the case, why should, and how could, there be actual good from what is not good? If evil is the first cause, can what is pure evil make, or even know, what is good? If it is because there was a mixture of good and evil in the first cause, is it not actually pure evil to begin with that good was made so that evil can be exercised? So there couldn't be a mixture of good and evil in the beginning as a single first cause, a God cannot be God if He is already in conflict within Himself. Is it not actually because we know evil can only be done when there is good to begin with in the first place? That is, is it not actually because of the primacy of good that evil can be allowed to exercise evil on the good? Only out of good and love, came evil because of free choice and intellect to know what is the undoing of good, and there can be love only if there is free choice and rationality to traverse first. And God, then, is Good, is Love. "But if our injustice serves to confirm the justice of God, what should we say? That God is unjust to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.) By no means! For then how could God judge the world? But if through my falsehood God’s truthfulness abounds to his glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner? And why not say (as some people slander us by saying that we say), “Let us do evil so that good may come”? Their condemnation is deserved!" - (Romans 3: 5-8)
