St. Paul Center

St. Paul Center

The St. Paul Center is a nonprofit research and educational institute that promotes life-transforming Scripture study from the heart of the Church. The Center serves clergy and laity, students and scholars, with research and study tools.

Our goal is to be a teacher of teachers. We want to raise up a new generation of priests who are fluent in the Bible and lay people who are biblically literate. For us, this means more than helping people to know their way around the Bible. It means equipping them to enter into the heart of the living Word of God.

We read the Bible from the heart of the Church, in light of the Church’s Liturgy and living Tradition. In this way, we hope to help people experience the heart-to-heart encounter that Jesus’ disciples experienced on that first Easter night, when they knew Him in the breaking of the bread: "Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us…while He opened to us the Scriptures?" (see Luke 24:13-37)

Is discipleship Catholic?

We cannot go back to the dark ages, whilst I agree with some of what he says; I think the occult is here to stay and it is not all one way; there is also a light path which leads to real wisdom and knowledge, like everything, you can't lump everything together, it is much more nuanced; this is why the church is on its way out; it is dogmatic and incorrect, the church did not want ordinary people to have knowledge, it was responsible for terrible atrocities, it was satanic; but I do believe in evil and 😈 demons, I am against channelling; this is a deception by dark entities who are all around us; you might think you are doing well, with loads of sheep followers who swallow every word you say but your life will at some stage go downhill, it may take years but I believe this happens; people don't even know what is speaking through them, they buy the lies, you have to work hard to get to angelic realms it doesn't just happen, so I do agree with Vincent the exorcist, he is a wise man, he has seen demons and possessed people! Stay safe, blessings! 🇦🇺 Australia!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I'm really curious ... my mom always told me growing to ''offer my struggles and sufferings to God'' and never fully grasped what that was supposed to produce. I came up with my own rational for doing that but would love to have more grounding to it. The mention here that ''myrr is offering our daily struggles as sacrifices in Union with the Lord'' is a first hearing for me! Where does this tradition come from? How is it rooted in the Bible? Are there Saints which specifically told about this? Total neophyte here, thank you ... !

Question: How much time had passed between the destruction of the 1st temple and the beginning of the building of the 2nd? My question is around Ezra 3:12-13 where the priests weep at the sight of the new temple as they remembered the 1st. It seems such a period of time would have passed for a priest to recall the first. Unless this is to mean a memory from childhood.

I think he is caring, he wants people to be sane and healthy through what he has learned. Thats fair. Healthy yoga classes are about stretching and limbering, about supporting the lymph glands and relieving pain in the body. Ive heard of people who dive into yoga but usually involve themselves in a number of things that they explore that causes issues. Christians are known for holding the human condition too. Or finding themselves in a bad spot from making choices that weren't so great. Some go to church but are alcoholics, dont exercise, dont stretch, diabetes. Im trying to say that we need deciphering and clarity. Jesus stepped out of legalism, he was a new thought and behavior of his time. He was rather a controversy during that time period of belief systems. We are all here growing and learning about love.

QUESTION for next month: John 20:9 says "for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead," and of course the Nicene creed says he rose in accordance with the Scriptures, and when Jesus explained the Scriptures on the road to Emmaus, where in the Old Testament does it say that the Christ would rise from the dead? Is there anything more clear about that than the sign of Jonah?

It's sadly apparent that you've turned out to be another hypocrite, deceiving and giving false hope to many. The only sin is the ignorance of so many because ignorance is the sister of evil. The only sin is the audacity to pretend to speak in God’s name, judging others on His behalf. In the shadow of hate, those perpetuating discrimination become unwitting bearers of the cross for every member of the LGBTQ+ community. Paradoxically, it is through their endurance of persecution that every LGBTQ+ individual stands as a modern embodiment of Christ on the cross. In the face of adversity, we reclaim our narrative, rewriting a story of strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to love. In the grand scheme, the adage 'the last will be first and the first will be last' echoes through the corridors of time. To those casting stones of judgment and hate, be wary-for these very stones may become the anchors dragging you into the abyss. In your hypocrisy and narrow-mindedness, you unwittingly dig your own graves with the weapons you wield. You hypocrites speak of mercy but know none because you treat others, the animals, and the planet without mercy. Mercy begins on your plates; stop murdering innocent animals for food, stop mobbing children, and stop pretending to be saints because for many, you are the demons of hell.

Reclaim the Month! ✝️🙏 JUNE is for the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. In 1675, Jesus told St. Margaret Mary that He wanted the Feast of the Sacred Heart to be celebrated on the Friday after the Corpus Christi octave. In 1856, the Feast of the Sacred Heart became a universal feast. St. John Paul II, a great devotee of the Sacred Heart, said, “This feast reminds us of the mystery of the love of God for the people of all times.”

I was received into the Catholic Church on 23 May 2024 and still have so much to learn, but I was nearly put off watching this video due to the, what I see as irreverence of the jokey comments. They are very off putting and unnecessary. The information was all new to me so I am grateful that this video popped up on my KZread.

You may not read this: The genealogy of Jesus is not in Matthew or Luke, it is in the Genealogy of Aaron (Levi )and Amminadab's Daughter Elisheba (of Judah) (Exodus 6:23-25) the Zadok priesthood, (Numbers 25:7-14) Phinehas received the Covenant of everlasting Priesthood, and the covenant of peace. Mary the mother of Jesus is a Daughter of Aaron's lineage ( no blood to David.) Matthew & Luke's == Genealogy of Joseph goes to Amminadabs son Naasson = but his Daughter Elisheba wife of Aaron. I mean no disrespect bettor reread your Bible. Aaron had a Genealogy with the Zadok priesthood as Jesus ( the Meichi Zadok.) May G-D give you eyes to see == Shabbat Shalom

Hilariously wrong interpretation of what Paul said. If what you are saying is true then Paul, all the Apostles, and Jesus himself were in the wrong because they celebrated Jewish holy days and seasons and days and months and years. The Last Supper was Passover. Jesus participated in the feast of booths. The list is long.

I discovered Father Kirby's "Morning Offering" on the Good Catholic KZread channel a couple months ago and it has become a part of my mornings before work. I have also started watching his homilies. He is unapologetically truthful about what scripture teaches and I appreciate that so much.

ST. BERNARD (1090-1153) Though personally charitable and kind, he was a formidable opponent, and he spared no effort in attacking injustice, such as excessive luxury among the clergy and persecution of the Jews. Pope Eugenius III was a friend and a disciple of Bernard and was the first Cistercian to become pope. Pope Eugenius asked Bernard for his thoughts on the right manner of conduct for the successor of St. Peter. Bernard wrote: “That you have been raised to the pinnacle of honor and power is an undeniable fact. But for what purpose have you been so elevated? Here is a question that calls for your utmost consideration. It was not that you might enjoy the glory of lordship....What profit does the flock derive from magnificent pageants, with you, the supreme shepherd of the flock advancing majestically in gilded clothing? Do you think that Saint Peter loved to surround himself with this pomp and display, or Saint Paul? No. In all things that belong to earthly magnificence, you have succeeded not Peter, but the Emperor Constantine!”
