I often have the experience while diving in warm water that no matter how badly I have to go, I am physically unable to evacuate my bladder until at least my head breaches the surface. It can be very distracting and even painful.

It's about being able to relax your muscles I think. Previously I had to hold onto something so my body could relax a bit. Now I can do it more easily.

This reminds me of some questions I've wondered since I finished my rec cert - why don't the gases in the intestines cause compression injuries to the bowel/abdomen, and if the pressure is high enough will the methane and other fermentation gases enter the bloodstream to cause some kind of poisoning? I realize these aren't big issues or I would've heard about it by now but it seems like these would cause problems. Does anyone know why these don't cause harm?

@@tonyvelasquez6776 Haha! Actually I'm having rectal issues right now and no health insurance so if it's cancer I'm dead. Sphincter collie sounds quite scary now... 😱 but that's funny.
