Why are U.S. Veterans Committing Suicide? - Their Difficult Transition to Civilian Life

Ойын-сауық

In this video, we will be discussing the difficult transition that many U.S. veterans face when they return to civilian life after serving their country. Unfortunately, many veterans struggle with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which can lead to suicidal thoughts and actions.
We will explore some of the reasons why this transition can be so challenging for veterans, including a lack of support and resources, difficulty finding employment, and the loss of the camaraderie and sense of purpose that often comes with military service. We will also discuss some of the ways that organizations and individuals can help support veterans during this transition, such as providing access to mental health services and job training programs.

This doesn't just apply to Vets these days. We all need purpose. If you do not live purposefully, you will lose control. I've been homeless, been to prison, lived as an addict... all because I felt no purpose. But we forget... and many of us aren't taught... that we must find our own purpose, and live for that purpose. It's the hardest thing to do... but 2 years clean, grinding 50 hours a week in the steel industry, and building a business, so I can help others while I'm helping myself.

Content like this coming out of a neurosurgery channel highlights that every single thing in the world, including breathing and not breathing, is political. Anyway. I would argue that psychological distress after ruthlessly murdering (or tacitly contributing to the murder) of countless human beings (civilians and combatant alike) is inevitable. Witnessing the displacement, starvation and immiserating of millions of innocent people is supposed to hurt and it's good that it does. I don't think it just boils down to boredom with civilian life and lacking purpose. It is the rightful consequence of doing evil if you are not evil yourself. America cannot roll through the globe like it owns the whole thing robbing, killing and committing flagrant abuses, subverting the sovereignty of nations and manipulating democratic processes to benefit itself economically behind a flimsy smokescreen of lofty ideals and think there are no spiritual or psychological consequences to that. If they insist on it, they should account for the suicides and substance abuse as expected. Providing the soldiers with healthcare will not change that and neither will learning pottery. I feel pity for those soldiers but my real sympathy lies with the people in the countries and homes they destroyed. The generations of misery and loss. Mine will probably be on the chopping block soon enough.

Why isn't your family a mission and taking care of your family and becoming a good man be your purpose? I am very patient and understanding with my partner and try to understand alot of things that the military did affect him and I have carried him and the daughter he claims for years... Why is making sure the loyal, helpful, caring people who offer help, why can't getting clean and becoming a responsible person to a child at least be your goal. It makes us feel like there's no reason to be here, we sacrifice so much trying to accommodate their feelings and addictions and lies, I try to hand in but it's because this abusive cycle in every single way way possible. Then they won't accept help. I don't have purpose anymore there's no more purpose to live. I can't understand so I'm ready to cross it all out
