Happy Purrsday! I enjoy all of your videos, past and present. I appreciate that you are fair and open to alternate types of food. It is what makes you stand out from the crowd. Pet food is not one size fits all. It does not have to be either/or. Your charts and grading system make it easy to see why all life stages is not a good option. "sub-optimal" Ausgezeichnet! Do you need a donate page for camera batteries? LOL You are most appreciated.

The omega 3 level is nice. But the manufacturer had 2 big recalls from aflatoxin in 2020 and 2021. I'm not worried about some recalls, but aflatoxin twice is a no go for me.

Hi AnimalDocRea, is Castor and Pollux Organix a good dog food or the normal version of it? I think the normal version of castor and Pollux is called, Pristine is this or the organic version a good food?

@@AnimalDocReaI believe the Castor & Pollux is no longer being made…I went on their website a couple weeks ago and it said they were no longer making the dog food. It’s a shame because this might have been a better alternative…even tho it is more expensive.

Can you compare Proplan urinary cat food to science diet urinary and a cheaper one Purina one urinary. I have a dog and two cats. Cost can add up. I currently have my cats on Proplan urinary. Science diet mush more expense in Canada. Is it worth it. My cats are 8 year old male amd 5 year old female. She had urinary issues in past but all good last few years.

So the purina one is an OTC diet and so it won’t be comparable to the c/d or the UR Wich are both prescribed diets. But I can do a comparison and highlight that

Thank you. Is science diet worth the extra cost. I only use science diet for my 2 year old dog. After watching your videos I am wiser to health of my dog. I feel Science diet urinary has better numbers ( sodium, calcium ams minerals. Want best for my family friends. Now I want to make sure my cats are also healthy. Cost of Purina one, Costco and science diet and Proplan for cats is a wide varient. I can afford better food if worth it

No. But she had crystals a few years back. Just want best for both. Science diet cost $106 at Petsmart and Proplan urinary is $72 in Canada 15.5 lbs. I will pay more if ( don't take this wrong ) les vet visits.

@warrenhorowitz-vp6ul Wich science diet and pro plan specific are you looking at. I will say the c/d is amazing At crystal prevention and may be worth it. You can often get coupons online for the science diet and at my clinic we let people stack them.

My dog will get allergic reaction like mange with any food that has an chicken pork or beef i took her to the vet he told me to change her diet to fish lamb or venison and shes been healthier than ever so yes changing your dogs diet could fix the issue before you try putting your dog on the surgery table lol

Changing diet for the medical management of disease on the direction of your vet is what I am suggesting vs just randomly changing the diet without a proper diagnosis

You’re comparing the BLUE bag which is not large breed formula but you’re discussing large breed standards. The green bag with sensitive skin is for large breed and has a different composition.

I’m not discussing large breed standards, analysis was to both regular puppy. And adult although the AAFCO statements says this blue bag is a large breed formula

@@ZaryaTheLaika Raw ground beef is why Panda is alive today. And why I still include it in their diet. All pets are different. You never know what is going to work for one pet may not work with another. Usually, when I make a general statement, I soon wish I hadn't said it.

@@ZaryaTheLaika I get it. I feed a mix of boiled chicken, raw ground beef, wet cat food and on occasion, even a little dry food. Because my cats like it. I'm open to whatever works and keeps my cats healthy. That is why I like Dr. Rea.

3% Salmon meal. I doubt if it matters. It also has "whitefish meal" whatever that is. It's mostly rice and oatmeal. Just saying. My cats get a tin of wild caught sardines once a week. They get more Omega 3 fatty acid from that, than what is probably in an entire bag of Wholesomes.

@@ZaryaTheLaika More likely a combination of what is available and affordable at the time. Cod, pollock and haddock are the most common. Meal can also contain offal from those fish.
