    Big Ben is a no brainer for best rookie QB ever. He didn't make the mistake to cost his team the game; thirteen games in a row. That's unheard of for a rookie, and why that record will never be broken.

  • @fermorac

    @fermorac

    david graham as a Steelers fan I’m with you but those new young QB are pretty good: Mahomes had to wait one year to show us how good he is and Lamar is quite amazing; maybe in 2 or 3 years we’ll see Ben’s record get broken

  • @davidgraham2673

    @davidgraham2673

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@fermorac , Definitely those young quarterbacks are amazingly good. Possibly better all around than Ben was, although Ben's passing ability is very, very good as we've seen. But until a rookie quarterback wins fourteen games in a row, it will be hard for me to accept that they are the best ever. Even though Pittsburgh had an outstanding defense that year, it still takes extrodinarily good play by a rookie to make a streak like that happen because all it takes is a mistake or two to cost a game, and then the streak ends. Remember, he was thrust into the starting role early in the season, with very little experience as a pro, and although he had tremendous upside, the scouting reports on him said he'd need a few years seasoning to be good. Instead, we saw it it immediately in a special season for us.

    Seeing that playbook size was nuts. I remember in high school we were a run heavy offense. Two HB, a FB, and two TE on the line. Bone offense was our bread and butter. Our playbook had maybe 10 pages. Haha.

  • @mustang8206

    We don't have a playbook. We just have to remember everything. They do let us write the plays coach draws up (which I never do)but that's it. We do run the same plays starting in 7th grade so their is plenty of time to learn and most of the plays are basically same just changed up enough to confuse the defense. Such as counter with the full back lead blocking instead of the pulling guard for example

    Vincent what Dasani said. Mahomes had a hell of a supporting cast in KC. The best Te imo, Hill whom I think can be a top 5 receiver, he had Hunt for 11 games and when he changed positions, the backfield after him continued to put up numbers. 50 TDs and 5k yards is damn impressive, which is why he won MVP. But he also had some of the best help in the league to get there.

    If you don't watch every game, don't listen to KC sports everyday, you don't see the holes. Watkins was hurt half of last season and didn't perform when healthy. The O- line isn't amazing, they're good, but nobody stands out. Reid is a great QB coach and Alex Smith is as "pro" as you get, great teacher. BUT if Mahomes fell into a great system and situation, and that's why he's MVP, then we need to say the same for Brady.

Baker's 2020 season was arguably better than this year and Amari Cooper just had a career year. Jarvis Landry also immediately became irrelevant AFTER leaving the Browns. 1:40 Man I've felt that pain before. When I was in 3rd grade I slipped off the monkey bars when it was wet and I landed on my but and the pain gutted so bad that I could barely get to the school door and the next day every time I stood up straight I felt the pain but only a little so I had to walk leaning forward a little

    @@ephraimazose3669 Dak landed on a good team and was able to hit the ground running. Baker landed on a shitty team and managed to get it moving in the right direction in spite of the negative momentum in Cleveland. He is a fireplug and I look forward to seeing more of him this fall.

    Here's what you're missing though. Baker has a ton of weapons on offense. OBJ, Landry, and Njoku are all able to do 1000 yards this year. Also don't discount Higgins coming out of that slot. He's not the biggest or the fastest, but he wants it more than anyone. Then there's Nick Chubb, who's due for a 1000 yard season on the ground. Then there's the defense, featuring a front 4 who made over 40 sacks and 200 tackles last year. The secondary is stacked with ball hawks too. The only way they fail is if they beat themselves.
