Just received my Hestan shipment. Ordered from Embers through Zaine. Obviously have not had to use customer service for any issues yet, but the order experience is great, your videos on here are great, the shipping to Illinois was great. This is the place to order from. I also ordered some electric heaters, and will order all future items through you guys. Hoping the grill and storage is great, but the service was phenomenal.

this guy does such a great job with videos. soooo honest. funny. comfy in front of camera. he should do infomercials. but, only if he's being 100 percent honest. so, he would have to tell the pros and cons of it. that's his lane !

Have had my Hestan 42 for almost a year now and love it, chose it largely based on the reviews here. I had a super minor issue when I got mine, the hood wouldn't stop at any spot correctly, support was --fantastic--. They had a hard time finding a local tech that could come out and tweak the spring but they kept me completely informed and tried like 3-4 different ones and got it fixed relatively quick. Super friendly and attentive which is nice when you're spending this kind of cash (you don't always get that).

I've watched a lot of your grill reviews, and was wondering what you think of the XO lineup, I'm in the middle of designing an outdoor kitchen, and have used your videos to educate myself about grills, and to me it seems the OX checks a lot of the boxes you mention in your videos. thoughts?

Video is OK, but it lacks more comprehensive details that are very important. The grade of the steel of each internal and external components is far more important than a spring--which only serves to make opening an closing a bit easier. So is the flame manifold construction and material, the warranty and what accessories can be added optionally is also useful info. That's why I ended up going somewhere else--for a more comprehensive education.

DCS is now owned by Haier, a Chinese company. Not sure if parts are sourced in China and assembled in Mexico.

How do the grill warranties impact your assessment? I think the Hestan grill is incredible but it looks like their warranty is only 1 year. Is that an issue for someone considering buying one when nearly every other manufacturer has a much longer warranty? (I think, at least...) (Also, thanks for all of your videos here - they have been incredibly helpful as I plan an outdoor kitchen!)

I haven’t seen that as too much of an issue. In my experience, sometimes your warranty is as good as the company you choose to buy from. For example, because we purchase over $500,000 a year in Hestan products. We can always get stuff pushed through after warranty, if we are the ones helping you. So give us a call and we can help with your order!

I still like the Hestan a bit better, as I am looking for a 36 or 30-inch grill. I was looking at the Napoleon Prestige 500 Pro, but wow, these grills are so much more elegant and designed so well. The blue lighting on the Eagle One is as beautiful as the Heston. I do not really care for the lack of a proper thermometer. though. My only decision now is to go with the 30 or 36-inch Heston. I will be contacting you soon!

I have a (hybrid) Kalamazoo...best grill out there for versatility and quality of construction and overall customer experience. That said...this video is reviewing Gas Grills...Kalamazoo is a whole separate category. I will be building a new place where grilling area will be on a covered wood deck, so pure gas grill is a better option for me (though wish I could take my Kalamazoo). Leaning toward the Hestan for this next project. I can appreciate these types of reviews.

@@embersliving You do. First of all Hestan is an awesome grill. However, they take a major short cut. The area in between your burners - try putting white bread there. The trellis burners are exposed there to the surface (no metal/no ceramic briquettes. Ever notice that Hestan does not use ceramic briquettes to cover the entire surface? The trellis burners cover the surface of the grill - but without the ceramic briquettes between the burners = you get a vertical line of hot spots. Try your infrared gun.

@@johnhebda my criteria is different from everyone else’s. I like the DCS 9 the best overall - even heat (not Hestan), extra lighting for night time grilling, 304 steel throughout (not on the Lynx), less flare ups (vs Hestan). Obviously the Hestan and twin eagles have color - I’m into practicality. Alfresco would also be right up there.

All bullshit! my Hestan did not last even 1 year. It's a great grill to look at and sell the features. But this is a SAFETY hazard. The wiring behind the control panel will melt when hot and will catch on FIRE between the knobs and firebox. POORLY engineered!!!! Heston should recall and fix this manufactured problem. But for $9000.00 plus there isn't any warranty after 1 year of purchase. I was stupid to think that the cost of the gill has quality build in. This guy must get a VERY Generous commission by selling these overpriced grills. Buy a Weber, a $2000 weber lasted me 15 years and i thought i deserved a better grill. Spending over $34,000.00 for cabinets, refrigerator, granite top, pavers to expand for my outdoor kitchen and plumbing for a gas line was a waste. This guy of course is selling this junk.. If the grill catches on fire and melts the electrical wiring, what good is it????
