Loneliness and isolation are very different. I know he says from the outset he's talking about isolation, but I wish he would've titled it that way then. Some people can be isolated and not feel lonely at all. You can also be in a crowded room and be incredibly lonely. They're very different experiences.

I don't think so. As a group, they will definitely be far isolated from the rest of humanity. But the comparatively long term nature of the missions could mean that no single human ever gets as isolated as the Moon command module pilots did.

i remember hearing the story about that guy lost in the antarctic. Imagine how bad that mustve suced, first you are beaten to the north pole, then your crew starts to die off, then you are the last one alive just waiting for death. Disturbing.

Me after watching this video "I'm more of an extrovert myself"

Being alone and being lonely are two very different things though. I’m quite often alone but I love it and don’t feel lonely .

Other than myself, this video nailed it.

I remember being at Doak Campbell stadium, a stadium that holds 85,000 people. I lost my friends for about 15-20 minutes, and found out that they had actually moved while I was in the bathroom. After discovering that I was going to have to search for them in a crowd of literally thousands of unfamiliar faces in a massive sports stadium, I felt completely alone. I have never felt so alone in my life, despite being surrounded by so many people.

The guy that was on the other side of the moon also had communication cut, so he was all alone, with his own thoughts, staring into deep space. Oh he just mentioned it

@@jaxsonpk1518 6 separate individuals. For the 6 successful Apollo missions. Each time, there was always one individual in the capsule while the other two went to the moon.

I always say I’m hella lonely, but then I’m the same person that locks myself in my room all day 😅

Wow, what a foreshadowing huh! A video about loneliness and isolation in February 2020.

Unfortunately we will never know because those early explorer's died alone in far away places, trying to be the first to discover new land comes with a price. The first person to go to Mars will hold that title in the near future.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the effort this guy makes to make his videos have all the information

You work do hard on these videos, and you deserve so many more subscribers.

Ahhh, that "Age of Discovery" label. Age of European discovery, maybe. Certainly, most of those places were already inhabited during that era. If that age determines anything overall, it's conquest. Another good video. I was thinking Bouvet Island would come up at some point.
