I first started reading these books in the early 90s and I just tuned in to this to have the answer revealed. It's another great moment from this monumental series. It continues to deliver golden nuggets despite being finished and I'm sure we'll be discussing more theories and hypotheses for decades to come.

Nakomi is like Colonel Kira in DS9. She mantled a Prophet for a time, at the same time that Jake mantled a Pah wraith. They were not avatars, they were vessels.

To me the parallel to Shaidar Haran (SH) that is perhaps strongest is that SH could prevent channelers from touching the True Source. This implied access to a source of power... perhaps the True Power, although that was never stated. Nakomi clearly has such an option, without us knowing whether that means the True Power is from the Dark One, or just from "outside the wheel", and therefore can be granted by the Creator as well... and to me the eventual link to Rand and the pipe becomes fairly obvious then. Any of the 'vessels' over time, like Rand, or those of the Jenn Aiel, are being granted access to this Power, along with some fragment of inspiration from the Creator which accounts for supernatural knowledge.

I love how this isn't about the answer we've been asking for, but more about the questions and potential answers unearthed by that answer.

I'm only half an hour in, but there are already a few questions I want an answer for:

I like that explanation, if Rand=Jesus ; Nakomi=Prophet, you could also call shidar’haran a prophet of the dark one, but the dark one removes free will, and does a mirdral have a soul or free will anyway?

Something I would love to have, and would pay well for, is a highly detailed annotated version of the last 3 books. Books printed in multiple text colours based on the text source. A colour for RJ verbatim, a colour for RJ fairly specific outline written by BS, a colour for RJ said this should happen and BS wrote that, and a colour for BS totally pulled this out of his backside because he wanted to. And extensive notes on why something was written the way it was.

I feel this as a little excursion into Catholic metaphysics. Like a little nod to Tolkien. Jesus is gods lamb and Rand is the sheep herder who dies and relives for the salvation of mankind from evil. So Nakomi is the female Side, a kind of Madonna figure.

I don't think that the creator can't take part. I think that's a human concept in the series. The Aes Sedai we're wrong about so many other things. The wise ones we're wrong about entering the flesh in TAR In itself was evil. I don't think it's that the creator built in multiple redundancies.... I think that each of those influences by the Creator on the patterned came into being for the creator to add more balance. But they were the creators influence. I also think if the creator did say I will not interfere myself.... The thought would have been in a particular context. A context of not choosing the results or making the outcome certain. The amount of imposed balance to the pattern added from the creator is pretty minimal.

Man I hate the perfect meal being brought up all the time. I cook tasty meals daily without magic or being an avatar to a god.
