The original King Hiss was my favourite figure as a kid, I was so proud to own him. I would continuously unsnap off his human form and show him to my parents 😂

I got itr AND the extra King Hsss torso - and Hsss with his super snake torso is one of my favorite figures in the entire line, bar none!

It's a great torso, much more horrific than the Original Flavour.

Ir probably helps that He-Man's Snake Armor is based somewhat on the Retiarus Gladiator armor.

King Hsss was a character who never worked for me, I always thought the king of the Snakemen should have a very snake-like look and the snakeman disguised as a human (with the reveal gimmick) should be the king's spy.

That Snake Armor He-Man is by far the best work you ever did in the Classics line. I was not even a fan of the 200X line until later. But this figure blew my mind. To this day I think it is the coolest classics figure :) As for King Hiss. I am surprised that no one ever pointed this out. Heck as a kid getting King Hiss you saw on the back of the card that King Hiss came disguised as a human only to surprise his opponents showing his true snake form. I thought for sure Mattel would release like a weapon pack with other upper body parts that could be snapped on to King Hiss, so he could shape into many different forms. To this day I think Mattel would have earned lots of money with such release.

The original ki g hiss was awesome. One of my favorite motu figures. My other favorites are TC skeletor, blastattack dragstor and extendar.

This armored look on He-man is pretty cool. I unfortunately liked the look so much, I bought it off of a scalper from eBay. I don't regret the though.

Another informative video, Scott! Looking at Wikipedia, it says King Hsss and G.I. Joe's Serpentor both debuted in 1986. What are the chances of two evil snake-themed emperors coming along at the same time? Any thoughts or inside dirt on this, or is it just purely coincidence?

MOTU has some of the most toxic fans I have ever seen. Death threats, phony lawsuits... more death threats, stochastic terrorism - it's like most of us never watched the part of the cartoon where He-Man told you to be a nice person.

Yeah, I find that in all the fandoms I'm part of, unfortunately: horrible little jackanapeses with nothing better to do than threaten, insult, whine, talk big, and troll. Every. Single. ONE. The first time I heard of fans threatening to "un-alive" someone was when Marty Isenberg was scheduled to attend a BotCon, and the people who hated "Beast Machines" made the threat, and he cancelled. Then he helped create "Transformers: Animated," and everyone loved him. Can't even make a neutral or fair comment in any fandom group any more, because BOTH sides will come at you, for being "too ______" or "not _____ enough." You could point out every single flaw in every Disney "Star Wars" movie and why they annoy you, but if you say "At least the visuals were amazing," you're apparently a "Disney Apologist." Or, if you complain about nothing except how the Disney Sequel Trilogy is just a tired, unoriginal re-tread of George's OT plots, that somehow makes you a fascist oppressor.

This is why I don’t care for anyone on any channel or anyone commenting. In real life, I don’t associate with any type of toy collectors. They’re all weird and just not right in the head.

Neat video! Thank you! I love this set. I had two subs for this year, which worked well, so I could have one SA He-Man, one "Human" BA Hsss, one "Snake" BA Hsss, and use the spare SA He-Man to make a Snake Armour King Grayskull. Oh, there were PLENTY of people upset about the torso fiasco, and there WAS actually talk about a class-action suit on this matter, but nothing ever came of it. Thing is, every couple of days, a butthurt "fan" would threaten or demand another new class-action suit for all kinds of silly reasons, so that when the torso fiasco came up and actually DESERVED such a suit, almost nobody cared enough to seriously pursue it.

Given the Justice League The animated series started airing a few months before 200X He-man I feel like Mattel was competing against themselves in the toy section at retail.

I paid for that torso Zero times, even though I subbed that year. After it came out that we would not be getting the promised torso some information started going around that Matty Collector would let people out of their subscriptions based on this info. I got out before the Laser figures and didn't pay for them, so I didn't pay for the torso I never got. It's too bad though because these were two of my long time most wanted figures in the line, and to this day probably my favourite single release in the Classics line. Both of these figures still stand in my He-Man display.

In retrospect, you guys should have released Snake Armor He-Man as a single carded figure and have "Battle Armor" King Hiss come packaged with his Serpentine half.

I usually have in my 200x collection a king hsss mib and in my fighting diorama motu vs snakemen 200x the motuc battle king hsss fighting against Zodak because it's a 200x posable figure against the original

I’ve got the two pack with Orko and that loin clothed heman reminds me of Tarzan.

I was always sad they didn't just go with a new version of Power Armor He-Man with his more H looking symbol. I know they did the Staction Figure, but it's a shame nobody's ever used that design in animation. Speaking of animation, if I was ever given the keys to the castle I would introduce King Hsss as a hero first and just call him Snake Man, then lead into him being King of the evil Snake Men.

Snake Armor He-man is the best version of He-man . I love Masters but the furry shorts are very 80's when wrestling was more popular. The figures should have more armor or at least wear more clothes.

King Hiss was def the lowest point in the original toy line. As the figures became more and more reliant on gimmicks, they just got goofier and goofier. But that isn't just MOTU. Just look at some of the lame characters that pop up in comics chasing a new hero or villain gimmick.

Class-action lawsuit because a verbal promise was made for a toy torso?! What's next, a class-action lawsuit because feelings were hurt? lol
