As a vocal coach of over 30 years, I agree with the comments. She may have been the best vocalists we’ve known. The aesthetic beauty of her tone, her stylistic choices, incredible ability to sing to every person in the audience. And she was proud to be an American. I miss her every day.

@@pkramer123 is my statement incorrect? Do you have any kind of proof that Miss Houston was indeed not proud to be an American? I am an American citizen, and somehow “America“ is not doing whatever you are referring to to me. Is America doing something to you? I see people making shitty choices. I see politics and media making every attempt to divide people so that they are easier to control and manipulate. I look forward to your thoughtful and well reasoned response.

Would love to listen and learn from your wisdom, @pkramer123. No worries, but I think we could all benefit by learning about what “America“ is doing to everything and everyone. That is quite a statement. It deserves discourse.

Whitney is to me the greatest female vocalist And I can honestly say Not in my lifetime and many lifetimes ahead we will never experience a Whitney Houston and that voice like her Whitney literally turn our national anthem into a Billboard number one hit single And she didn't even know how that happened Her rendition of the star-spangled banner was so incredible that the radio stations kept playing it and playing it and that's how it turned into a Billboard hit . As of 2024 she is still the most awarded female music artist in history with over 500 awards selling over 220 million albums Her body guards soundtrack which is not even a full album it's a soundtrack is the biggest and best selling female album of all time off of that album her single of I will always love you is the biggest and best selling physical single by a female artist in music history that album went 18xplatinum And still she's the only female artist and artist in history of music to have 7 consecutive number one albums and singles.

For those unaware, Whitney Houston began her vocal career in her local church choir. She amazed all with her phenomenal gospel technique, something she was able to transfer successfully to her secular music (much like Elvis Presley). I think this outstanding performance is one of her best - and that's saying something!
