As a vocal coach of over 30 years, I agree with the comments. She may have been the best vocalists we’ve known. The aesthetic beauty of her tone, her stylistic choices, incredible ability to sing to every person in the audience. And she was proud to be an American. I miss her every day.

This is the 1st time I'm hearing her sing this song & she is my favorite performer of the star spangled banner. My HS played her rendition every day after the pledge of allegiance. It brought me to tears ea day & filled w pride in my country. God blessed her w an amazing voice

hell yes. heard the song millions of times during my several years in the Army's Engineer Corps (the Engineer song is a, well, "raunchier" version, with more beer and less hallelujah). Now, i have to admit that i listen to mainly rock or metal or what have you, but i grew up hearing whitney's voice all the time as my mom loved her. she put so much soul into everything, this song included. future generations will barely have an inkling as to what amazing talent and beauty, even as troubled as she was at times, they are going to miss out on. RIP, Ms Houston.

She amazed all with her phenomenal gospel technique, something she was able to transfer successfully to her secular music (much like Elvis Presley). I think this outstanding performance is one of her best - and that's saying something!

The second she started singing, I got goosebumps, and I got teary eyed. She was amazing!

What a gift Whitney gave these soldiers at that concert. Many years ago she and her mother were guest singers at a church my mother attended in New York, when she was a young girl. My Mom came home and told me about these two amazing voices that she couldn't get over.

I am basically one giant goose bump right now. What a talent that woman had.

My heart broke when Whitney died, she was such a beautiful person and her soul shined everytime she sang.. People destroyed her and whoever did that know who they are.. May you rest , dear Whitney , in God's loving arms forever.

Whitney's performance of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, some years back, was also fantastic. One of the best ever. I miss her dynamic voice; the one before the drugs and alcohol took their toll!

I am a classical vocalist and I thank God he graced me with the presence of this Amazing vocalist. This is trully a God given talent ...... Celine and Barbra, Aretha, Jennifer Hudson, Mariah.... They will never be at this level.

Mrs Whitney Houston received a gift from God : Her extraordinary voice ! I remember the first time she came in France, she was only 18 years, but we understood she will have a great career. Unfortunately her soul was soiled by those who surrounded her, the dark face of humanity, and led her to the bottom of the abyss ... but forever she will remain a great artist present in our hearts! May she have found the light and peace!
