Tommy Aldridge, well into his 50s when this was was filmed, drumming his ASS off just like he must have done aged 19. NEVER lose the hunger and passion for what you love to do =)

Yet another amazing John Sykes song. To Whitesnake newcomers: almost all the guitars in the 1987 Whitesnake album were performed by John Sykes, one of the Top 5 heavy rock guitarists of all time.

I still rate 1987 as the best heavy metal album of the 80's supremely heavy, awesome solos, catchy hooks amazing musicianship it's got it all.

I love this lineup of Whitesnake but no one can play Bad Boys like John Sykes -- he wrote it and recorded it. John just has that powerful "ooomfff" to his tone.

Wow thats one hell of a line up Coverdale put together. All around masters of their instruments. And the sound shows, best sounding live show ive seen.

Coverdale asked him in the early 2000s before he put this lineup together but Sykes wanted 50% of the money! His ego is out of control which is why he can’t work with anyone or release anything. Real shame.

Please bless them. I'm a foreigner, but I've never heard a metal song that captivates me in such the good way!

This is metal! This IS ROCK! First band I ever saw, they "opened" for Motley Crue on the self titled album. OMG that show almost klilled me! Sound for days and days in my head. Loud, brutal rock!

I saw Doug and Marco at a small Festival in Germany. Both signed my first electric guitar. They were so cool!!!

Back when bands put on outstanding stadium gigs worth the money. They're all f**king brilliant, but Doug's the only guitarist anywhere near the great John Sykes; who, by the way, is criminally under-appreciated.

Whitesnake 87 was the second album I bought in MC format after Black Sabbath's 'Ethernal Idol'. That record I can't stop listening in 30 years.

Totally agree with Manaloja. I had the pleasure of seeing this lineup up close in 2005 and was completely blown away at their energy and tightness. Aldridge went into a killer drum solo in the middle of "Crying in the Rain" (I believe), at one point throwing away his sticks and pounding on the set with his bare hands! Friggin awesome!

John Sykes should also be given props for this song.

I agree, one of the best. Also, it was not Zakk Wylde that originated that large pinch harmonic bend/squeal, John is the original of that technique that thousands of metal and rock players incorporate in their sound -- and he also plays a Les Paul.

@@inddarbarreto1746 Actually Doug's technique is the most ergonomically correct way of playing there is, he uses the so-called "thumb behind the neck" fretting hand technique where it's placed very low and not wrapped around it 😉 It originates from classical guitarists and feels looser on your hands and your fingers are standing straight onto the strings. Not many people do it, but it's actually how it is 'supposed' to be funnily enough 😜
