I hope people realize what it takes to sing while playing guitar that well. It’s challenging enough just to sing while playing the rhythm parts(chords) correctly. Sykes is nailing the vocals while constantly riffing accurately throughout the entire song. Most excellent!

I was wearing a Thin Lizzy t-shirt I made and he played the solo to Thunder & Lightning about three inches from my face!! I met John afterwards and he told me how he first met Phil Lynott (through producer Chris Tsangerides) and signed my T&L album cover. It was one of the best nights of my life! He was so cool and gracious! L’amours was an amazing venue!! Night after night there were incredible metal acts playing there for years! Man, I miss those days!! Peace, brother!

ChrisWhite85 Sure Chris. I get that. And in many ways I liked the 80s stuff being there and all. Sykes is one of my fav guitar players. However, whitesnake has had several big eras and the first was in the 70s with Marsden who is a great blues player. Shame Coverdale is such an apparent ass. Recognition for the Sykes era never really said that the biggest hits off the 1987 album were actually written by Sykes before he met Coverdale. And they were cracking tracks and he is a cracking guitar player. I wish I had his royalties :)

I remember the fist time I heard John Sykes - it was with Tigers of Pan Tang and it was the second lead on the song "Take it". Absolutely blew my mind - I still play that song over and over in my car to this day! New song "Dawning of a brand new day" recently released - keep it coming John.
