White Guy Switches from Fluent Korean to Chinese, Shocks Locals

What's going on guys? Victor here.
I'm still in Seoul, South Korea, where I'm visiting local Chinese restaurants. I'm having so much fun talking to the staff and trying to surprise them, as well as the local patrons with my Chinese and Korean language skills, and today was no exception!
The people working at this place were actually native Chinese speakers, and they were shocked to find out I was fluent in BOTH Korean and Chinese. And I got some stares from the locals as well.
The food was a bit too spicy, like a Sichuan hot pot but overall it was a really nice place. Check out the video and let me know whether you'd like to go there when you're in Seoul!

There was this one youtuber who travelled to Mexico and was speaking spanish and so many comments were praising him not knowing his spanish was super broken and barely legible 💀

Thank you so much for saying that, I thought people can't distinguish. When someone calls me "(famous KZreadr name) 2" and compares me with other KZreadrs I don't know how to respond because sometimes those comparisons show that people have no clue about the actual level people have in those languages they speak... I'm really far from the place I wanna be at and very far from being perfect, but it makes me sad when people just equalize everyone on the basis of the video title, rather than the content. Beginners in the language are equalized with advanced speakers in most cases, people have no clue who has what level... It's really sad to see.

@@VictorTalking Most native speakers aren't perfect either, portuguese is a good example where native speakers don't use the proper grammatically correct tense in the majority of cases. I use this as a guide to learning a language, write down the things you say on a day to day basis. Just general conversation and learn those words and sentences first, then it's just matter of expanding your vocab, surround yourself with the language as much as possible every day too. Also, very important, don't be concerned with making mistakes, watch shows in the language on the internet, preferrably without subtitles, have a pen and paper at hand to note down words that keep popping up that you don't know. Then it's just practice. Thai is the next language I want to learn, after I've improved my Kanji.

I watched until 1:43 but im not going to finish it. I just want to say this: No offense but this guy literally copies xiaomanyc, the title and even the thumbnail man the same format 🤦

It's like saying that lambo copied ford. Superficial people with no clue about language proficiency like you can't say the difference, it's not for you anyway 😉

@@VictorTalking wow I even said “no offense” but I guess someone got mad, okay. Plus, yes I don’t know Korean and Chinese yet but I do know some other languages at fluent level so you cannot assume that I don’t know any other language at a proficient level whilst I do. At least you could’ve changed the thumbnail cuz it’s too obvious. Btw, you could write it in a different format or structure other than “white guy… shocks locals”. Plus, I wonder what it has to do with “language proficiency” as you typed above.

You're too sensitive obviously. Korean people themselves use the similar word in Korean, in case you didn't know.
