Hi Nick Jill and Hugo. Great one we love the goth festival. Shame about the weather but good to see the hardy goths were out enjoying the festival. The man with the hat should have got duracell. Lucy did look a bit chilly bless her. There are such a lot of fantastic costumes everyone puts in such a lot of effort it's wonderful to see. We particularly liked Dave and Dawn 😆 . Hugo seems to be getting good at the posing for his photos 😆. Whitby really is an amazing place with so many great events. Always a great fun weekend. Pity about the rain as most of the Goths hid from it. Great to see it brighten up tho so they could all come out of their hiding places. I think I even saw a bit of sun. Some fabulous costumes. One couple lived not far from in St Helens 👍

Cheers Paul oh yeah always forget you are that side St Helen’s way! The sun did try and fight the rain but the rain kept winning it may have peeked at one point! A lot were in the pubs and cafes hiding from the bad weather! Hope you are having a nice extended weekend! 👍

I'm quite late to this one, but I thoroughly enjoyed it as ever. What fabulous outfits and seeing that rainy April day is making me appreciate a little reprieve from the cold, wet weather with some nice sunshine. Thank you both (and to those who were interviewed) for another great video x

I love your little goth. The visitors to the Whitby Goth Weekend never let us down with their stunning array of creative outfits. Love it. Love that you have regulars too. All of the merch looks wonderful. I do love some fish and chips from the Magpie. Such a great view from the church, shame there's no Goths up there though.

Eee by gum, what a luverly feast you'll went ta. Just having a me(n)tal melt down. Golly Goth. Oh you two I do so love these festivals. I don't go anymore, used to , even had the clothes to fluff myself up with. but alas. My female friends with whom i kept company, well things change. My husband and his brother go- but their attention is more for the music. Don't want to be wandering the place on my own. But a visit to YOUR festival, now that's another story. yay! i love whitby goth weekend with y'all! even in poor weather, you make the best of it. i caught the "not dampening spirits" pun (ooh at the end too). 🤭stray was a really cool puppet and shuggle looked like he could've been related to hugo. the three doggos in the carriage!!! 🤩costumes were spectacular (dawn, wow!) as usual. and everyone seems so nice. thanks for a fun friday evening watch. have a great weekend, jill and nick! 🛴❤

We are sick of this damp and cold although we had one sunny day last week where we stupidly decided to do a 9 mile hike and due to not being use to that strange fireball in the sky ☀️ Nick got sun stroke 🤣 you should definitely try and get to the October one although that one is exceptionally busy there is a steampunk one in July too! Hope you are having a lovely weekend ❤️

Well I’ll try for #3 😮 Nick & Jill I haven’t a clue what I said before 😂 but I did watch again now with more enjoyment! Tried yesterday while I waited for my granddaughter 😆 I love all these awesome people! But climbing 99 steps to get to a church and nobody’s there 🤨😮I’d be crying! You took it well! Fascinating stuff! HD looks like a nice Goth. That was a good venue for the stalls but not sure about the body painting 😂😂. If only you had captured Nick's face when he realised who was behind the Terminator mask, it was absolutely priceless 🤣🤣🤣. Jill had got it quite early which just added to the whole thing. Magical weekend.

Goth is not a phase; for those for whom it is a phase are a bunch of fakes who'd be better off listening to crap like Kylie Minogue and the Spice Girls. For the minority who are authentic Goth is a lifestyle.

just awesome, he was genuinely offended I didn’t recognise him. love the guy, but never seen him in a Predator/Terminator outfit. had us fooled. well that’s a secret hint at what we will be doing later n the year.. everyone recognises us? ok, we are going to destroy that. really want to get close to them all without anyone recognising us. secret is out

Such a shame about that weather and it looked so promising as well, still absolutely gutted I was too ill to attend :o(. It was a good to see the weather did not put off the people who did attend and it did still look a great amount of fun. The Drapers looked amazing as always, they outdo themselves every year and so many people making a brilliant effort too. Good to see the weather brightened up a bit towards the end of the day, cheers Alan

Friday night, bottle of wine and Nick and Jill on the TV, excellent stuff. Always look forward to your Goth weekend vlogs!! We really loved our time in Whitby, especially having a pint you you both. Love that we are recognising people from your other goth vlogs and they’re all recognising you! Loving Hugo! But you two need to dress up next year! Lousy weather but still looks great fun, we really would love to do this weekend. Shame we didn’t see his smoking hat haha…oh wait, we did 😂. Mmm Magpie Cafe chips, mmm. Haha, everyone knows you!! Rach got recognised in Tesco today haha. Stray is great!!! Ah, you’re local celebs now!! How cute is Shuggle? 😂 ooh, was that Captain Pete we saw then? ah thank you guys, loved getting to meet you both there. I think Mr Whitby lives in Hull but he is determined to move or spend as much time in Whitby as possible, can hardly blame him! hopefully we’ll have something steampunk ish to wear as the year progresses. there are some fascinating events and festivals coming up this year, a lot that we haven’t been to before. we do have so much fun meeting up with people and making friends old and new that we will definitely be going to more festivals this year! just googled Draculas brother, gosh didn’t know that either. well done Felix! have an awesome weekend guys 🍻

Great video guys. It didn't look quite as busy as the last Spring Goth Festival you covered. I wonder, did all the recent bad weather put people off. I hope the October one gets good weather.

I think it did Andy. These outfits are so expensive, it really did bucket down, i imagine they were all hidden away in coffee shops and pubs.

A great event and I love people's commitment to their costumes. Has the event become bigger, there seemed to be more elaborate costumes and more people than in your previous videos on the Goth Weekend?

Hi there it was busier than the April one last year the October one is the busiest as it’s the original then February and July are the steampunk which are a little quieter than the goth events but are too growing in popularity! Thanks for your comment have a great weekend 👍

Shirley here I am from the US and I am goth, we have nothing like this here. I have to watch all these festivals on YT. I have to buy my goth clothes online because where I live we have no stores that carry goth clothing.

we ducked back into the pavillion and walked into a dressing room of a dozen naked models and the organiser gave us carte Blanche to film it. we are not prudes or shy of naked dressing rooms but we hightailed out of there super fast. would be a great event to cover but it needs more prep than the organiser last minute lassoing us into filming naked models! happy to fully engage with every aspect though, watch this space. (YIKES)

Magpies and Chips, you could be onto a winner there! yeah it was mightily cold on the day too. to think we are in May now and to my recollection we have only had two days of sunshine. the weather has officially got worse since you left!

Didnt know where to look Steven! We got permission from the event organiser to film in there and was greeted with a dozen naked bodies! Would be a great event to film for KZread but id have preferred to get clarity from the artists and models about what they were happy showing or saying first. If I hear it’s coming up at a future event I’ll do my due diligence to cover it properly! 👍

The more I get to know the people in attendance the more I 1000% know they are goths, like ourselves. It sadly sickens me and is distracting me from continuing to make content.

Gothic is a type of anglo saxon architecture transformed by Augustus pugin.. gothic architecture example ...houses of parliament nothing to do with Dracula and all that garbage. Dracula was just a made up character from a book just like jesus was

great description of gothic architecture Steven, it also applies to people who love certain UK music from the 1980s “ Goth is a music-based subculture that began in the United Kingdom during the early 1980s. It was developed by fans of gothic rock, an offshoot of the post-punk music genre”. I myself am a fan of that era and music and have pretty much worn black ever since but because I don’t dye my beard purple and stay I my room 24/7 some people might consider me not to be a goth!

There people are not goths, it is cosplay.

Many of the goths that went enjoy dressing in cosplay for a change. Id say you go down there and talk to them yourself, you’ll get a better idea.
