    how long should it take for the wash cycle. on here it says quick wash would take about 30 min. but the wash cycle on heavy bulky and normal is 10 minutes and then starts draining water. btw i just purchased this washer and I'm really want it to work for me. but even the water amount on deep fill doesn't fill to half way. any suggestions?

    I just purchased this machine and the first thing I did was jerry-rig the lid so the machine would operate with the lid open in an effort to see what is actually going on in there. And to my dismay, there isn't a whole lot of washing going on! In fact, at any given time during the wash cycle about a 1/3 of the laundry is actually above the water line. Furthermore, the ‘agitator’ style on this machine is a joke! I was absolutely horrified to see precisely what some online videos are pointing out about the newer style agitators. The clothes on top never get drawn down into the wash water. I was horrified to see how the new style ‘agitator’ simply rocks back and forth verses traveling in one downward direction as that seen in old style machines. And, manually adding more water to the tub does absolutely nothing in terms of getting the clothes on top to actually get drawn down into the water! Designing these machines so the lid can never be opened during a wash cycle is the manufacturer’s way of getting us consumers to ‘drink the cool aid’. They want you to believe that once the lid is closed the magic begins. Let me tell you, there is no magic happening underneath that closed lid on this machine! This machine is an absolute joke!

    Hello can you give me some advice on the whirl pool model number WTW4955HW1? I recently moved in these apartments and the washer is literally new out the box. Although the Auto Sensing doesn't sense exactly. For example if I was to put a comforter in the washer it doesn't fill up all the way. Meaning only half of the comforter gets wet. I would actually have to get a pot or something to add extra water in the washer in order for the comforter to get entirely wet. Please help this is very annoying. Of course the washer is in the apartments name so I can't call a technician out.

    Take off the fabric softener top on the agitator and youll see a bolt. If you dont see the bolt, you likely see another plastic piece which youll have to remove. You need a ratchet with an extender of 10"+ to be able to reach the bolt inside the agitator. The bolt itself is 7/16". After the bolt is removed, you can then remove the agitator and it's base with some force and it should come out

    @@joejohnston9730 I agree on your comment regarding the lack of water being used during washing operations. Having said that, I have access to water in proximity of my machine. As such, I manually add water to the wash cycle. However, adding water has virtually no affect on the machine's bottom plate and agitator actually pulling the clothes through the water column. The clothes remain layered in the machine as they were upon loading them. There is absolutely no agitation action affected on the clothes in the wash tub. At best, adding more water simply provides a soak and not a proper washing. This machine is a total joke!

  • @pangea7372
    @pangea7372 Жыл бұрын

    JD Whitty you could not be more wrong in describing the agitator on this machine. I recently purchased this machine, only to realize it is a complete joke. This agitator is not a 2-way agitator as you claim. It is a solid mount agitator that simply cork screws up and down as the tub rocks back and forth. This action is absolutely worthless in drawing clothes down into the wash water. Furthermore, your statement claiming this agitator is “going to allow for a better cleaning action” is absolutely absurd. I would ask if you in fact have ever watched this machine in action. In doing so, you would quickly notice that the laundry on top of the load is never drawn down into the wash water. In fact, bedding blankets will never ever get circulated down into the wash water. And astonishingly enough, the blanket on top of the wash load will never ever be fully drawn below the water line. It is absolutely delusional to suggest that this style of agitator is superior to the old one-way drive of the auger style agitator that actually pulled down and circulated the laundry load through the wash water. You obviously have a very different view of what ‘washing laundry’ should look like. Washing laundry begins with the notion that all laundry is drawn into and circulated throughout the wash water. This machine does not even come close to being able to do that. To fully understand how worthless this machine is at cleaning laundry, I would ask viewers to fill a clear, tall glass with ice and then add water. Now grasp the outside of the cup and twist it back and forth clockwise and counterclockwise and watch what is happening to the ice inside. You will notice there is not a whole lot happening to the ice. It simply stays in one place as the glass spins around it. This is precisely how this washing machine operates. What a joke!

    HE machines are suppose to save you from using more water. This washer cost us more to use in water than our old non HE. When we have it on auto sensing for the rinse, it rinses the clothes twice, which I don't want. Also I have notice when you have it on auto sensing for water level & rinse option, the rinse option fills up twice as must water as the wash cycle does. You would think they both would fill up with the same amount of water. Disappointed with this washer, because it uses more water than our old one. We end up tricking it to fill more, AND they still run an hour plus, unlike the old ones. It's like the 3 gallon toilets going to 1.5. Some people have to flush twice. So where is the savings? The government has to make people believe that they are doing something good for the environment. Just like the computer software co's change programs around, in the end you can still do the same thing, but we know they are "doing something". What amazes me is how many people believe it. : )
