I prefer the Eternal Editions. First off, large text makes it easier for me to read. Second, the full color pictures are beautiful and really show off the craftsmanship of each painting. And lastly, the translation makes a bit more sense to me.

Growing up my parents never really had money to buy me any sailor moon merch or books so now that i am turning 30 and are more financially stable i am starting to collect sailor moon so think im buying both versions 😵☺️😅

I love the covers of the Eternal Editions, but honestly, I find the ink quality better in the 2011 edition and I prefer the original's translation choices. I think just size-wise too it's just more comfortable for me to sit down and read a 7 inch manga as opposed to the jumbo-sized omnibus editions.

I bought the first two volumes of the eternal editions and I’m currently reading them right now too!! I’m LOVING them too! The colored pages are a gorgeous addition! Also, I am obsessed with just how BIG they are! You can really admire all the fine details and the art overall! Some panels and pages are just so GORGEOUS! I’m obsessed right now lol 🤗💕🤘🏻🔥✨

Probably gonna watch Sailor Moon Crystal soon after I collect and read the manga. Thanks for making this video! I JUST got the first two volumes of the eternal editions the other day. I’ve never read the manga before so I’m super excited! Since I’ve never read it before, I wanted to dive in with the eternal editions since they are larger, and after this video I definitely think I made the right choice!💗

I read the manga first time when I collected the 2011 edition, but since then I've donated all of them except Stars. I also got Perfect Edition Vol 9 because that cover art is just so beautiful and I couldn't resist. Eternal Edition looks gorgeous indeed, I might get the last few volumes.

I can’t decide whiyone I like more. Maybe the 2011 release because I can put it in my purse .

I actually bought the first five books of the Eternal Edition, and they are beautiful, but it was a major pain wanting to read them at school lol, so I calculated what chapter I left off on in the eternal edition and picked up the series with the 2011 version. I still love the eternal editions I have though, I just use them more for aesthetic and home reading now lol.

I remember when in 2010 I got the Italian magazine of sailor moon,and with it there was a preview of the Crystal manga! I really liked the preview,so when I saw the mangas being published,I got them! Now I am buying the Eternal ones,and so far I pretty much finished the whole series! I treasure all of them,and now I am looking for the original manga prints!

I’m currently reading volume 1 of the 2011 sailor moon manga, pretty awesome so far 😊

I bought the 2011 editions back in 2011 because my MIXX editions are falling apart. Was disappointed with the 2011 editions -- the translation doesn't flow well. The eternal editions are beautiful and I would like to begin collecting those, but have to make some space first. Those books are huge! I really love how the MIXX editions include the commentary/notes from Naoko. I wish those were included in these new editions.

The Eternal Editions are primo stuff. The art looks better. The colored art is amazing. And I find the translations to be more natural.

Please do a review for all of them 😍 eternal editions are just SOOOOOO amazing! Thank god they added the short stories in the eternal editions! I'm glad they're releasing sailor v eternal edition too! I wonder if they'll release the bunko version of the manga in the west 😁 I hope they'll finallt release the artbook they promised us all the way back 2012 after the all the eternal editions are published!

I'm complacent with the 2011 collection that I have. How a manga is translated isn't a big deal to me--I even used Google Translate to read a Manga I could only find translated into Italian. I'm literally just in it for the story, so the size and quality of the pages is not a selling point to me. But I will say the cover art is gorgeous.

I just had got in the mail yesterday the sailor moon eternal edition 1,2 and 3 which will make this my very first ever sailor moon manga I read act one and I'm already blown away I should've ordered this doing the shut down.

I was thinking of you maybe making a series of Sailor Moon theories wherein you can interact with Moonies worldwide, particularly the existence of Sailor Cosmos and why in Sailor Moon R aka Black Moon Clan on why the future world was unable to materialize when they were attacked when Chibiusa had knowledge of Super Sailor Moon and the holy grail. Maybe we can talk about Sailor Pluto, Queen Serenity, the Pink Moon Crysyal, etc. Just a thought.💙❤💙

@@ochibawolf Oh, not really...😅 That'll be too much of a hassle for you, maybe you can pop a subject on social media regarding complicated topics. Ask a question there, gather theories of other moonies there and discuss them on your vlog with your own opinion wrapping up the debate or discussion. We have to make sure we have spoiler alerts though in each episode in case you're up for it..haha😁

I like how in the translation notes they included info on renting movies, "before the magic of Netflix..". That'll make ya feel old lol.

I use to have the complete set of the originals. They weren’t in great shape and had pages falling out, but that was about it. My mom one day cleaned my room, decided they were garbage and tossed all the ones losing pages which was more than half. I was royally pissed to say the least.

I have all 12 of the 2011 edition except the short stories and the sailor v which I haven’t found brand new from anywhere so I’m gonna start collecting the eternal edition so I can read those books (apparently volume 1 of the short stories was incorporated into the volumes of the eternal edition)

I have all the Sailor Moon 2011 manga including Short stories collection and Codename: Sailor V but I didn’t have the eternal edition since the cost but I’m already preordered Naoko Takeuchi Collection manga edition so I’m exciting of collection Sailor Moon manga again 😊

I have both editions, though I'm missing a couple early volumes of the Eternal Edition. I find that the lettering in the Eternal Edition is much nicer in than the 2011 version. I feel like there was a lot more thought given to things like font choice and how the sfx subtitles look. (Though they both use the same dialogue font, Comicrazy by Comicraft, 2011 uses sentence case while Eternal uses all caps) There's a lot about the 2011 edition that feels "rushed" in a way. The translation's a bit sloppy, the lettering's kind of basic, things like that.

I prefer "Mystical Silver Crystal" than "Legendary Silver Crystal" to translate Japanese "Maboroshi no Ginzuisho" because mystical while is not direct translation of maboroshi, it can grab the nuance of word maboroshi.

I have all of all 4 versions. I always bring the 2011 version with me because they fit well in my bag

I've just received my copy of Eternal Edition in my native tounge (Polish) and I must say I am impressed with the quality of the product. We don't have an equivalent of 2011 edition here, but we did get original tonkobon localized edition in the late 90s. My question for You native-english folks is: Does the Kanzeban/Ethernal edition use the updated art like 2011 version or the original art as in the Tonkobon? Thank You in advance.

I a fan totally, the artwork was originally design at first. And it was so gorgeous! I love eternal bcause the paper are solid, good also for people has blurred vision because its bigger. Side note : manga is original from naoko takeshi.if there's no naoko, there means no sailor moon of course😊

I have the original 1990 editions in english that are out of print. I love them the most from all the manga i collected. They are a bit smaller than most manga.

Omg idk if you will see this but going to throw my comment in anyway. I have all but one of the original 90s manga been searching for that last one. I just recently came around ro wanting the 2011 release bc i decided i wanted the better translation and now seeing the differences im super torn. I also still call the moon stick the crescent moon wand from the 90s anime lol so i think i like the eternal naming better for that one. Ill look for if you kept going on the comparisons!

I have both. I do want to get rid of the (2011)regular editions, but can't get myself to do it b/c I love the covers on the regular editions as well! I look at them and I do, "No! I want to keep you too!" 😂 I had this debate with myself well before the eternal editions came out. I wanted both covers and I couldn't decide one over the other. 😭 But I prefer the eternal editions, just everything is so superior to the regular editions, color, glossy pages, bigger and I love the new translation! The only thing I don't like is the size. I did want them bigger than the regular editions, but I didn't think it would be super sized like that.

I actually love them both but I prefer eternal better because eternal just has more colour pages in the eternal version, i love how they actually made the texts bigger to read! Im gonna plan on reading eternal

The biggest thing to me about the Eternal Editions is that with the size I wish they were hardcover. Not a fan of the glossier pages or modified artwork either, but the translation feels so much less cumbersome and reads so much better that it still stands above the 2011 version to me

I just noticed, some of the new colored pictures in the Eternal versions are actually pictures used in Japan`s tankoban versions.

I have a question - I have the 2011 edition, but I have missing vol 4 and 12 from that edition. So my question is - if I buy the Eternal editions to complete my Sailor Moon manga collection, will the story be read differently, or each book has the same story? Is vol 4 from 2011 the same story as vol 4 in the Eternal edition? I'm also confused why there's 12 books for 2011 edition and 10 books for the Eternal edition... I also need the last book but now I'm confused if the vol 12 from 2011 is the equivalent to vol 10 from Eternal edition 😿 pls someone help me 😭💕

I find the Eternal edition’s size to be a double edged sword. While I enjoy seeing the detail of the art on a larger scale, it can be a bit uncomfortable to hold the book at times. I own two volumes of the Japanese Perfect edition, and honestly, that size really is just perfect to me. Still hasn’t stopped me from getting the first 8 volumes of the Eternal edition though 😅

I have four versions of the manga. The manga is my favorite version of Sailor Moon

The Eternal Edition's translation is more accurate to the intent and context of the original meaning. It always bothered me that the English translation went literal with "Moon Stick" even though that's what SM called in the original version because it ignores the context. "Moon Wand" IS more appropriate IMHO in what the author was trying to achieve. Same goes for "Mystical Silver Crystal" - the meaning that people believe it exists but yet have never seen it with their own eyes so no one really knows if it really does exist.

Haha yes. This is coming from someone who was born and grew up in Asia watching the original run of the anime and reading the original monthly releases. I really really detested the first dub of SM when I came to North America because of how much they butchered the series. The way they localized the Eternal Edition IMHO is the perfect way to translate. Respecting the original material while adapting it to the local context so the meaning is preserved. "Moon Wand" has got it right!

I wish I could buy them all in English because I have them in Italian the 2011 Edition except Sailor Moon Short Stories I will have them soon in Italian. And I would like to have the Eternal Edition too.

Ok. So i got the 2011 set before the eternal set came out because i have the original manga from when i was in highschool and i read it so many times that it's stained in a few places and I'm afraid some of them might fall apart. I didn't realize the eternal was that different. I only knew it was larger format. I might have to pick up the eternal set.

even tho the translations are supposed to be better with the eternal version i find myself more fond of language in the 2011 version

Really? I think some of the items are translated better in the 2011 version, but the language flows much better in the E version, imo,

I don’t know if you’ll see this as this video is from a year ago, but I’m hoping you do as I’m sure you would be the right person to ask. So I’m very new in my love for Sailor Moon and just starting to purchase copies of the manga. My local bookstore had very limited copies of things but I saw that they had a copy of “Codename Sailor V” and by the fact that it was in the smallest ever Sailor Moon section and the artwork looked similar I bought it but I have no clue where it fits into the story and now wondering if I bought something completely different

Codename Sailor V was written before Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. :) Sailor Moon was the spin off from that!

@@ochibawolf okay cool! I bought the second issue and will now be looking for the 1st but might be on the lookout for a while as every where I’ve checked has it for $50-100
