hello reading Ace, I have found that all manga isn't very cheap either. My advice for you is getting the manga from your local library. It's more convenient that way.

I'm glad you don't have to wash the English speaking version of the 90s anime talk about a lot of things changed like they wrie mamaru and ursagi as having an age difference like ursagi was 14 and mamaru was just standing adult college lifestyle, and salior urines and salior Neptune are cousins wicth made for same strange anime since they write salior Neptune and salior urines as making strange hand gestures that don't make sense like thay had salior urines put her hand on salior Neptune leg when she came back from a swim. Now that I'm finally reading the original version it's make sense that salior urines puts her hand on salior Neptune leg. I much prefer the pretty garden sailor moon over the mess up version that was done in the 90s question apparently read online that the sailor moon first version isn't even pretty garden. It natural code name sailor V have you heard of it is t very good. Also we never got the final of salior stars, is that's for sexual gender because apparently sailor starlights can change their gender. So any idea on when the final ark will happen?

I’m so excited for the Sailor Moon Eternal movies I finally broke down and bought all 10 volumes of the Eternal Edition of the manga. It’s been years since I read it and I can’t wait to experience the quality this version seems to have!

Sailor Moon is one of my childhood show It’s my favorite anime that’s why I made my own character sailor sun

I’m living in Okinawa and just found the Eternal editions at a book store and about died over them! So beautiful. I purchased the first volume only since I can’t read it. I’m definitely needing this set in English for sure. Thank you for sharing about the updated translations

yay, I'm glad you liked it! I know you had asked about the manga vs. the anime too, and I tried to think of a way to talk about that as well but it didn't really work. I'll just give you the gist of it: the anime is created for a younger audience and the plots in the manga (especially as the series goes on) are just straight up better, more interesting, and more mature as the characters grow up. also, like I said in this video, her art style is beyond gorgeous and imo it's not quite reflected in the anime. I hope you love the manga! :)

I also have a Christmas list but I don't get everything on the list and I really like sailor moon but I also like winx club I love both! But sailor moon..... Love it more then anything

I actually love these editions even more as more volumes come out. I think these are genuinely the best editions of sailor moon :)

Right before Pocket Mangas, as they were calling them, were these $4 regular comic book sized versions. I got #3 for Christmas in 1998. It had just one chapter in it. At the same time you could buy those, SuperS was being run in a magazine. The beginning of the Sailor Moon manga actually premiered in that magazine.. so when you buy the regular comic sized #1, it's actually not the beginning. Kinda a bummer, but then they went and released the one that you were holding first. I've got #1-5, 7-17 of the large sized. The 2014 ones I actually got the night before release bc the Barnes and nobles people put them out early, and that was really cool we finally got Sailor V!! I'm collecting the eternal editions now bc it's kinda like having those large ones again, bc of the big color art, but now it's proper direction, good translation. I appreciate your review!

Hey so I've collected the Kodansha 1-12 of sailor moon but they don't have codename sailor V so should I get the eternal edition for Codename sailor V 1 and 2?

I totally agree with you. that's a drawback for sure.

Would you recommend the new Eternal edition for 5 year old you? Or the new standard edition? I am currently reading with my 5 year old son the first book in the standard edition. But was wondering if we should switch over to the new Eternal edition.

sorry for the late reply, but if the cost of the eternal editions is not an issue I would absolutely recommend them. the full color pages of the art at the beginning of the chapters are so stunning and the translation is the best one yet imo!

So basically the newer non eternal edition is totally fine but super fans might want to pay the extra premium for eternal. Now the question is do I want to save money and get the non eternal or will I regret it later on and buy the eternal editions anyways haha

Are Sailor Uranus & Neptune still cousins in the translated Eternal edition?

nope, it's pretty gay! keep in mind that they were never referred to as cousins in any english translations of the manga (that I'm aware of), only the 90s anime. but it's handled much better in the eternal editions imo!

nope, it's all the same story but the chapters are divided up differently based on the edition. so your best bet to read the story continuously is to pick one edition :)

So, the original Sailor moon, the New Sailor Moon Edition, and now the Eternal Edition are all the same mangas with a slight change of translation and, of course, the art is a little bit better? It would be pointless to buy them all if you just want to read the story, right?

just for reading the story, yes! in my opinion the best overall editions are the new eternal editions, though they are a bit cost prohibitive.

Older edition is more colorful..
