Yet in CA for example, making that switch work would require covering the entire state in solar panels and windmills. It's just not going to happen and it's devastating for the environment. Now if they were talking about commissioning 10 nuclear power plants and having 25% of the grid be gas power to make up for the weakness of nuclear and renewable sources. Cross plane definitely sounds better IMO - the sound profile is beast-like (cross plane) versus insect-like (flat plane). I think without automotive bias the vast majority of humans would naturally gravitate to beastial baritone of the cross-plane V8. Also, the cross-plane V8 is simply superior to the flat-plane V8 for reliably holding really big power due to the lack of 2nd order vibrations. The best engine configurations (IMO) are the Inline 6, the 90 degree cross-plane V8 and the 60 degree V12. If any engine doesn’t come in one of the 3 configurations then they *should*.

I know very well how the internal combustion engine works BUT still to this day it blows my mind how the combustion cycle can even still work at high revolutions! You would think eventually the air/fuel mixture and exhaust would just start getting all mixed up with turbulence where nothing worked right or the air couldn't move fast enough, and that the lubrication even works at that rate is amazing, you would think that the top end would just seize up from heat and friction. The modern IC engine really is a mind blowing marvel of modern engineering.

America sounds better 🇺🇸
American style so crunchy
we have flat plane cranks in america too. They just sound hella different. like a sound mixture of the 2 engines.
It’s like choosing between my kids, the Italian one every day
Both sound amazing but i just love the low rumble of that cross plane v8. Sounds manly!!
Love both sounds, but the Italian one, has something special ❤🇮🇹
Its interesting how just changing the position of pistons on a crankshaft gives you a vastly different sounding engine.
Flat plane V8 sounds good

yes yes and at the first bend go straight 🤣
They both not bad.
I like both, but that gt350 voodoo flatplane V8 is the best of both sounds!!
crossplane Growls, flatplane Screams.
They’re both awesome!
A v8 should rumble not cackle.

A v8 should do what it's designed to do. Burn rubber. But yeah, crossplane sounds better to me. 😉

You mean a muscle car V8 should rumble,
Good to see santa have fun during the rest of the year
As a true European and a car nut, I will go for that US crossplane sound. That said not all muscle cars are created equal. The Coyote sounds bad ass.

@@2011Transformersdotm I am actually a Mopar man, but credit to Ford! They always had great sounding engines and the 427 sohc I still rate above an Elephant. I have had Fords, Dodges, Plymouths and some GM products (also Euro and Japanese), but I never had a Ford Muscle car. I once was close to buying a Falcon, but it got sold before I could get the money. Anyway, Mustangs of (almost) all ages are and will be classics.

@@jonbeargenx i have 2011 Mustang GT and it sounds awesome, the 4.6 3v V8 even better, probably the best sounding V8 of all time. American V8 different and unique compared to other V8s and for me they are unmatched.
I know damn well that American V8 is a 6 liter with 200 horsepower while the Italian one is a 4 liter with 600 horsepower

Sounds like a mustang engine to me which means about 490 hp & a 5.0 engine

Not true nowadays but do not forget the RELIABILITY. Not an italian feature. ;-) I'm French and we avoid "made in Italy". It's beautiful, for sure, but after 2 or 3 years, it fails, inevitably. ;-)

In my humble opinion the flat crankshaft sounds like a very beeffy inline 4-cylinder engine
