I have 3 fuji cameras but the one i carry the most when im out and about is my X10. It's proper pocket sized, feels solid in my hand, 28-105 lens and takes superb images. Sure, it's slow, but such fun.

I understand you fully. I've got 4 of the bleeders (T5, T4, T2 and X-E1) and a variety of lenses (16 f1.4, 27, 35 f2, 10-24, 50-140 and 100-400) and I love all my Fuji kit. I've also got an old Nikon D700 and a wonderful 105mm macro lens. For all the resolution, fast AF, noise performance, etc, etc, when I look at images for pure pleasure, the X-T2 and D700 win hands down. I couldn't begin to tell you why, I just love their look :-)

For me, the X-T3 is still more than capable for my needs. And, the XT cameras can be configured to be used with the dials or just like a PASM camera using the command dials. I recently began experimenting with the command dials set up to control SS and ISO leaving the aperture ring in use. It's really a fantastic camera. My next endeavor is to learn how to properly set it up and use it to shoot video. Always something to learn!! Have a great weekend.

Is it because …you know that camera better better than the other ones. I agree though - it’s what works for you. I’ll put my hand up I bought a xt5 because I had come from a D850 and I like being able to crop when I miss …having megapixels is crop enabled is often how I think but I could afford it. Now I the thing I love about fujifilm is you could line up 20 fujifilm cameras from the range and side by side ….same lens and you’d get pretty similar results …and that’s GOOD thing …it’s then simply determining which tactile experience you need . One thing irked me about Nikon is they have 1 camera only in each price point …..you get that camera only. And if Nikon is listening - err they ain’t …….fix this now. I love fujifilm

I have the XT5. I wanted the larger battery, small size, flip screen, IBIS and dual card slots. One of my favorite Fuji cameras was the Fuji XT3 which I sold because I wanted IBIS. I got the XS10 because IBIS was high on my list of priorities. I did not get the XT4 because Fuji started making bodies larger and one of the reasons I started shooting with Fuji is I wanted to go smaller. And I did not want the flip out screen. I verified my dislike for the screen after owning the XS10. I also could not see myself using the larger H line. The XT5 has more or less given me what I had been looking for in a camera. It is more than a 40mp camera. If it came with a 26mp sensor I still would have bought it. If it came with the stacked sensor I would have been thrilled. I also have a used XE3 with the 27mm permanently attached. It is a good EDC combo.

Hi Chris. Interesting video and yep, I agree absolutely. I have now fallen in love with my X-T4 and enjoy using it. I’ve still however kept hold of my X-T1. The images that it produces are full of character and that sensor produces images that are closer to the experience of film photography. The beauty of the newer model is that it produces pretty much every time and the autofocus is great. The X-T1 however requires you to be more measured in taking photographs. I won’t be swapping the X-T4 for an X-T5 however as I feel this sensor is as much as I can do justice to.

Hey John - I think you wouldn't see a lot of difference between the X-T4 and X-T5 photos anyway, so I definitely wouldn't upgrade for that reason. XT5 is just quicker and has incredible AF and IBIS. Those 3 things are the reason it's doing so well. Give it a year and it'll come down in price and we can all buy it then 🤣

With the tight supply for the new Fujifilm cameras, the older models are actually selling for quite a bit more than a year or two ago. The US MPB site is listing excellent condition XT-1s for $479 or about £395 right now. So it's almost twice what you paid for it. Many of the older generation x100s, x100t, x100f cameras are also going for a couple hundred more than previously (if they are even in stock).

Hi there, thanks for comment. Legacy cameras are in more demand I guess, which puts prices up. It shows how good the older Fujifilm cameras are as people are going back to them. I think you can buy a second hand x100v for more than a new one in some places as they’re so hard to buy these days

Great video as always Chris! Do you reckon it's worth waiting for the XS20 rumoured to be released in April? Going on a trip early march, so considering getting my first Fuji before then. Also what lense would you reccomend as an all purpose lens to start off with? According to my research the kit 18-55 f/2.8-4 should be ok?

Hey, if you’re going in March and want a new camera, I wouldn’t wait - the X-S10 is a great camera. The 18-55 lens is incredible. Don’t know why they call it a kit lens as it’s so good. Here the link to my review: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dJmZ1rZmeqyvp7A.html

Save for the ‘1, and 100V’ I have quite a few Fuji rigs. As of now, I have an XT-2/3/5, X-Pro-2/3, and an XE-2s, so as for the X series, well I am good.

You ask, which would you buy? The one I wouldn't buy is the X-T5. As you said, the 16mp X-T1 can compete for general photography against the 40mp sensor, so why clog up the processing power and storage with unneeded resolution? To answer your question, with my collection of 6 Fujifilm cameras, I'd buy the X100V, only because I CAN'T buy it, since it has been unavailable for months and shows no sign that supply will catch up. I don't want used, I want a new in the box X100V. Have the money in my hand and can't buy one.

Just come across this channel, I'm looking for something cheap for taking out on hikes and maybe on the bike; so its not *too* much of a disaster if the worst happens and I break it. I was looking at the X100 series but even the older models are more than I'd like. The XT-1 seems like a pretty good compromise. I'd be doing landscape photography mostly with a bit of wildlife and maybe sports thrown in; but they'd be few and far between. My only concern is the size - is the XT-1 with a 35mm lens considerably more heft than an X100 fixed lens?

Omar Gonzalez compared the various Fuji sensors, the II, III, and IV. He compared images. The outlier by far was the X-trans II sensor, so what is in the X-T1 (he used an X70). It had vivid reds and the blues were lighter blue. And it had more contrast. And the color balance was warmer even after calibrating it with a Color Checker. kzread.info/dash/bejne/q3prm5JmprXLerg.html
