Hi Abbey my skin used to tolerate the two stronger AHAs (prior to retinoids), but no longer. I switched to PHA and my skin likes that so much better. I think for the Spring/Summer I may switch from the Inkey list PHA to either the G&G calm exfoliant (PHA and BHA) or the Wishtrend 5% mandelic acid toner. Both of these will have more of a within pore exfoliation effect on the skin, helping with any blocked pores due to humidity and more diligent sunscreen reapplication. I do wear spf year round, but I have to confess I am more stringent about reapplying in the better weather. Despite double cleansing I can get tiny blocked pores in the centre of the face in the Summer - we sweat more and wear more layers of sunscreen, all of which is mixed with the humidity. I'm using up the PHA in the Winter months and I only use it a couple of mornings a week, so it lasts for a while. Best wishes.

I’m reviewing Glytone Mandelic Gentle Resurfacing Serum right now and so far I’m loving for my sensitive skin. Thanks for this informative video about different chemical acids. I’ve used a AHA and BHA toner I’ve done well with but never a serum or Mandelic Acid serum & was intrigued by the different acids. Plus what to use and not use with these acids.

I use the Clear Genius clarifying liquid peel by Bliss. It’s an AHA, BHA, PHA blend and it’s total percentage is 10%. I have really sensitive, dry, eczema, acne prone skin, and this works fantastic for me. I use it twice a week, and it is a leave on treatment. It is $20 dollars, so it’s my most expensive product. But if you’re not a broke college student like me, it’s not too pricey.

I currently use AlphaCeuticals Glycolic serum 20, which I have used daily for many years without any problem . . . probably because I acclimatized my skin by using the weaker serums 5, 10 and 15 before progressing to serum 20. Unfortunately, this product has been discontinued and I am looking for a replacement. Do you have any suggestions of a high percentage glycolic acid that is not a peel? (My skin is not at all sensitive.)
