Where was the Tower of Babel? - Dr. Douglas Petrovich

Archeologist Doug Petrovich explains why he thinks he has identified the site of the Tower of Babel based on a variety of evidences from the Ancient Near East.
𝘐𝘴 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺? features over a dozen scientists and scholars explaining how the world intersects with the history recorded in Genesis. From rock layers to fossils, from lions to stars, from the Bible to artifacts, this fascinating film will change the way you see the world. The film’s goal is to provide a reasonable case for Creation in six normal days, a real Adam and Eve, an actual fall, a global flood, and a tower of Babel. Dr. Del Tackett, creator of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵, serves as your guide-hiking through canyons, climbing up mountains, and diving below the sea-in an exploration of two competing views…one compelling truth.

    While in Iraq in 2006, I visited Ur. There is pieces of pottery scattered about like gravel. On one piece I picked up, I could see the fingerprints of the potter where he slid his finger across the wet clay and lifted it up. It was absolutely marvelous to see such a personal detail from so many thousands of years ago. History is so fascinating! Fantastic video!

    Ummer Farooq interesting. Beats reading some of the other Hadith, about his child bride and his other weird sexual nature. After i read the Quran i didn’t understand why so many had a negative view of Muhammad . Then i was told to pick up a select few Hadiths, that are considered , the “Trusted” Hadiths, and there is where I saw the true Muhammad. I pray on your journey with God, you find nothing but truth. Keep an open mind, read into others beliefs and at some point read the Gospel ( Ingil ), with an open mind and heart . God bless you

    James Neil Hogg I’m familiar with that ‘Goliath” and I can relate. We’re being taught to depend on Him not the congregation or the one behind our pulpit. He works through individual connections, not in the masses. Pastor ship has gone by the way of vanity and false light reflecting the light of their congregations and having darkness within. The church never closes for those who are the church. Gathering together in crowds gives a false sense of security and separates us from Him. there are 12 tribes, 12 disciples. 12X12=144k different personality types, This may be a reach of faith or hope but I’m depending on the fact that God made everyone different for a reason. There are many roles in The Kingdom of Heaven, we each have our own gifts and burdens.

    @@paulsmith5150 Glad I gave you a laugh. They remind me of an old joke about faith and rejecting things because of what they assume as truth. There was a flood and the water was up to the door step of a guys home. Rescuers knocked at his door. "No thanks, God will save me." Next day the water was running in the windows when rescuers arrived with a boat. "No thanks, God will save me." Next day the guy is on the roof and the water is still rising. A helicopter came and let down a rope ladder. The guy says again "No thanks, God will save me". He drowned and when he went before God he was all upset and said "I can't believe you failed me and let me drown. I've been so faithful and true, but you let me drown." God replies, "I sent 3 rescues to you and you rejected them because you assumed a divine act only if it fit your understanding. You drown because you couldn't face what was before you. You thought you were smart and ended up a drowned fool blaming me because of your interpretation."

    Just fyi: It was Ron Wyatt (with God's help) who found the "Real Tower of Babel" and it was not at Babylon ...and seems to have all the archeological evidence more than any other site, and matches the Biblical descriptions perfectly... 😊 King Nebuchadnezzar had his own seal/stamp that is on all the bricks at Babylon... NONE are Nimrod's mark/sign.... 🙏🙏🙏 Ron Wyatt, by reading the Bible, saw that it says that after the flood, the people came from where NOAH'S ARK had rested in the mountain(s) [plural] of Ararat [Urartu]. [Now called Turkey, where Ron Wyatt found the Real Noah's Ark, on what the people called "Doomsday Mountain", with massive evidence; *13 ft Anchor Stones with 8 crosses carved into them, *Noah's House, and Altar, *Graves/Gravestones of. Noah and Wife, and more all by the "City of Eight"... Also after 10 years of research and archaeological testing, Turkey declared it was the "Real Noah's Ark"! And which you can now go and see !!!] 😊 🙏🙏🙏 Ron Wyatt read that... The Bible says: they came FROM THE EAST".... [that means they would be "TRAVELING WEST" along the Euphrates River in order to water their flocks] Ron Wyatt found the Real Tower of Babel by tracing their route according to the Bible; and found the real site where the Euphrates River kind of semicircles a huge plain.... 🙏🙏🙏 Earlier, by Noah's House; Ron Wyatt had seen a small carving of the Tower of Babel as well as Nimrod's "mark or sign" on one of the Anchor Stones by Noah's House; Nimrod had carved, 3 UPSIDE DOWN "ANKHS," in the stone, (Nimrod tried to make the people believe that HE was responsible for saving the people, not Noah and God).😟 [when Nimrod died, the "bottom diamond shape of the Ankh was moved up to the top to show he was "supposedly" now a god in heaven",] [which later the Egyptians used and passed on to others]😟 🙏🙏🙏 At the Real Tower of Babel Site that Ron Wyatt found... Nimrod's sign/mark WAS ON ALL THE BRICKS, and which were "made out of slime(tar) and mortar(clay)" just as the Bible describes... !!!😊 ... Ron was able to get up close pictures from land and also one from the air... !!! Also, when he got home, they were looking up geological evidence in a book on that area which had a MINERAL RADAR SCAN FROM THE SHUTTLE of that part of Turkey!!! It shows A CLEAR IMAGE of THE REAL TOWER OF BABEL with the radar penetration going right thru to the CIRCULAR RAMPS AND EVERYTHING.... !!! 😊 🙏🙏🙏 [Please see KZread video called "RON WYATT AUGUST 1996" (zinedinez105)(1:34:26)] (It's a home video so the middle partt has a few glitches but if u get past that it's fine again) 🙏🙏🙏 I believe this was one of his last finds before he passed away in 1999.... after God had graced him with finding SO MANY real sites of Biblical History, which showed the truth of the accuracy of the Bible in everything, and which God had kept hidden until His appointed time; to reveal them thru Ron Wyatt, who was a true, humble, man of God.🙏🙏🙏

  • @boshman78

    @boshman78

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@chesterparsnip I'm by no means an expert on this topic, but here are a couple of reasons why I believe it's true. 1) Deluge Myths. There are dozens of different accounts of a global flood spreading across various civilizations from North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. I don't think these people were talking about local floods. I think what happened is like the game "telephone". A single event happened and the story of it got passed down orally from generation to generation, with some accounts being more accurate than others. I believe God, as the only living witness to what actually happened, relayed this story to Moses. So I'm inclined to believe the Genesis flood story is the one true account. 2) Evidence of fossils are found at various elevations on the planet, including on mountain sides. It seems more likely to me that a sudden spontaneous flooding event preserved these fossils. The layers found in the fossil record are similar to the land reformation that occurs during flash flooding. 3) Dinosaur DNA. Living tissue cells have been discovered in supposedly million year old fossils? How is that possible when it is believed DNA can only live within thousands, not millions of years. I believe the dinosaurs largely existed pre-Flood and went extinct afterwards. Possibly a relic population survived only to die off from natural means. 4) Extinction Level Event. Most experts in this field believe at one point a major event reshaped the global landscape. The only thing they can't agree on is what caused it. Scientists have suggested major asteroids to space born viruses. Why not a global flood? I think it's because the implications of such a theory would threaten the secular scientific community. They dare not even suggest it for fear of their careers. The evidence is there if you are brave enough to assert it. As for your comment on the Bible being allegorical, there might be some allegorical writing in the Bible (the parables of Jesus for example) but I don't think Genesis is one of those examples. The problem with allegory is that it's too speculative and open to interpretation. You shouldn't need a phD to be able to read and understand Genesis. Jesus also referred to events in Genesis as though they really happened. So, I'm inclined to believe that Genesis is a true historical account of Creation, the Fall, and God's Salvation Plan through the Jewish People.

    It is an interesting sociological phenomena that to this day in centers of high population density you get more worldliness and higher concentrations of crime, paganism, diversity in perversions of thought etc. Generally speaking, it is the sub-urban or more rural areas that tend to be more level headed and occupied with people who have a higher level of reverence for God. The rural "Flyover country" that politicians would ignore, if not for America's brilliant Electoral College, would be an example.

    The Levant is an approximate historical geographical term referring to a large area in the ... Both the noun Levant and the adjective Levantine are now commonly used to describe the ancient and modern culture area formerly called ... People also ask What is considered the Levant? The Levant is a term in geography that refers to an area in the Middle East which includes the historic areas of Lebanon, Palestine, Israel and Syria. ... The word "Levant" entered the English language in the 16th century, together with the first English merchant adventurers in the region. Why is the Levant important? The Levant was the landbridge between the Southern empire of Egypt and the northern Mesopotamia. ... It was important to control the Levant for easier passage and trade between these two empires. It also was important to control it for sea trade on the Mediterranean. Why is it called the Levant? The name Levant States was used to refer to the French mandate over Syria and Lebanon after World War I. This is probably the reason why the term Levant has come to be used more specifically Which country is Levant? The countries which comprise the Levant are characterized by similar linguistic, cultural, and religious traits. These countries and regions are Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Cyprus, Turkey (Hatay Province), Israel, Jordan, and Palestine. A broader definition of the Levant roughly refers to the territory from Greece to Egypt What does Isil mean? Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant As al-Shām is a region often compared with the Levant or Greater Syria, the group's name has been variously translated as "Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham", "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (both abbreviated as ISIS), or "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (abbreviated as ISIL). What counts as the Middle East? About The Middle East Thus defined it includes Cyprus, the Asian part of Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, the countries of the Arabian peninsula (Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait), and Egypt and Libya.

    While your leading question sounds simple and potent, it demonstrates a deep lack of knowledge of all of the issues involved. The city that you want to make the Babel of Genesis 11 actually was NOT an occupied site at the time of the Tower of Babel. Moreover, there were about 7 Babels in and around ancient Mesopotamia. Do not be so naïve as to demand that the one you know of as the Babel of Nebuchadnezzar's day is by necessity the same Babel of the time of the ToB dispersion. Sir, you know not what you say, to be frank and honest.

It fits the dimensions exactly according to Herodotus and I found a blueprint of it that was found in another temple and it overlays perfectly. It is on the Iran Iraq border. It is currently being bulldozed over! Also there is a unique marking like a bullseye that measures 1000 miles exactly to the great pyramid of Giza and 600 miles to Gobekli Tempe and it is also exactly 600 miles from the great pyramid to Gobekli tepe- it forms a perfect triangle.
