So far, your recommendations have been the best I've seen! With the help of this video, I found a nice hotel (reviews seemed fair) in the downtown area that is well within my budget for my 4-day stay. Thanks!

At the airport there is an airport skytrain connecting to the city. Affordable and safe
Accommodations in areas like Ari, Thong-lor, Eakamai are relatively more affordable and peaceful.
ไทยแลนด์ มีทุกอย่างที่นักท่องเที่ยว ต้องการ แถมราคาถูกด้วย
I'm heading there in less then a couple of weeks. Thinking of doing a few nights over Kaos Road then a couple of nights in Sukhumvit area so i don't have to suffer transport to much
I chose to stay in the victory monument area.
Bought my first Submariner in that Rolex at Paragon. Even cheaper than in the USA
I'm glad we didn't go to Siam Paragon yesterday.
I miss MBK so much 🔥🔥
We've just come back from Thailand, we spent around 7 days in Bangkok either side of trips to Hanoi and Phuket. We originally looked at Sukhumvit but ended up staying close to Khao San Road. I'm glad we did as there seemed to be more tailored to what we were looking for. We visited Sukhumvit and whilst there were plenty of bars, it had more of a built-up city feel. We are in our 50's and certainly not party animals, the Khao San Road area appeals to all and there are more upmarket hotels if you're not a backpacker. We stayed at the Dewan, a nice hotel with a good pool, 1 min to to Khao San Road and depending on where your room is, reasonably quiet at night. There are decent options a little further away and on the river should you like a little more peace and quiet. We were close to bars and nightlife and walking distance to the river for easy access to attractions, temples, China town and transport links. The metered taxis and Grab options are pretty cheap should you wish to use that option to get to railway stations or other parts of the city.
Si Lom is also a good area for hotels.
Long Ago there was a Travel Agency called Asia Travel which showed you hotels Available by different sections of Bangkok. For those of you who have never been to Bangkok the best choice is to have your hotel pick you up from the Airport especially if you are a woman traveling alone. If you are traveling from the USA you won’t arrive until 11 pm. The airport is quite a distance from Bangkok. Your hotel wants your money. They will have a sign with your name on it as you emerge from immigration. My wife was born in Thailand and this is the method she prefers for personal safety.

Hello Going on holiday in August Where do you advise to stay for shopping and street food ?
Awesome vid! I am staying one night arriving to BKK at 9am and then departing from DMK at 5pm next day. I definitely wanna see the temples, khao san, jim thomson and other famous areas of Bangkok. Have a higher budget but more than the budget, I just really wanna stay somewhere convenient to move around. Would you still recommend Sukhumvit for one night stays?
@Robert_Berg
Жыл бұрын
If you really want to visit Khao San Road and see the temples then staying around the Khao San Road area wouldn't be too bad of an idea. Most of the famous temples are in around that area and then you have Iconsiam not too far away if you're into shopping and you're not very far from Chinatown either. I guess it depends on what you prioritize! However, you can never go wrong with Sukhumvit if you're not quite sure about your decision.
best area to stay in BKK is from soi 22 and across Sukhumvit road upto soi 59, many bars and restaurants and hotel options, soi 22 itself is a microcosim of restaurant and hotel options , its about 1km long

I prefer to stay around Chatuchak. Sukhumvit is a busy and seedy. Chatuchak market and park, plus the cool areas of Ari, saphan khwai, and all the malls in Ladprao all make for a more relaxed Bangkok experience

The video was recorded in july, hence why I was sweating- winter months are not as humid. Sukhumvit gives you a little bit of everything and you’re also close to many of the major night markets that have great street food
Khao San road to me seemed too ghetto for my tastes and overpriced in terms of food quality. I mainly stayed around Wathana.

I think both Siam and Asok are great areas for first time travelers, you’ll be fine either way. Those areas are pretty much as central as you can get in Bangkok which makes it a great base to explore the city. You can take the Airport Rail Link from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Phaya Thai and from there transfer to the BTS (skytrain) which is 2 stops away from the Siam Station and 6 stops away from the Asok Station. Personally, I always take a taxi from the airport since it’s very affordable.

Where can I find cheap area in bangkok. I don't need fancy stores. I'm looking for a area that has day/ night markets daily thats walking distance. My wife loves that " fleemarket " vibe. Street hawker/food cart type of area with some mosque near. We stayed in the talat phlu area which was nice however we got tired of walking 15mins to the train station. Any suggestions I can research?

Take a look around BTS Rachathewi station (one station away from Siam). There is a mosque at Petburi soi 5 (or 7) and lot of street food in both sois. There are also a lot of apartments and condominiums for rent in that area. The rent could be around 5000-8000THB or more for an apartment. The condominium could be around 20K++
But what's the name of the hotel???

Generally, the younger generation are more fluent in english compared to the older one but at the end of the day, it really depends from person to person. I’ve met people my age that speaks great english but I’ve also met people, again, my age, who barely spoke a word of english. Usually they’re pretty decent at english if they live/work in or close to the city centre (eg. Sukhumvit) since they speak english a lot there because of the tourists. Uni students in Bangkok seems to speak somewhat decent english in general.

Thank you for making a video introducing Thailand. I hope you enjoy traveling to different places. In Thailand...there is much more. that you will learn new things and the culture of Thailand...that is easy and comfortable, but there may be some that you may encounter Some Thai people take advantage of you. It will not be a tuk tuk or taxi that overcharges. and will not change your money Or meet a wild kai You should avoid these people...because maybe they're not Thai. listen to the accent It could be someone from a friend's country. Came to wear the right to rent a car from a public car to drive...notice The front of the car will have a driver's license. Set in front of the car whether it matches the picture that is allowed to drive on public transport or not....? from Thailand...🤗🤗🤗✌✌✌

@@Robert_Berg I used to live in Sweden, but because of Socialism and the immigrants I moved away from that communist North Korean influenced nation. All politics in Sweden are based on taxes and they want your money so that they don't need to work hard. Also the reason that I left Sweden is because they make people homeless with those high cost of living. North Korea and Sweden are like best friends and they support Palestine and don't like Israel because Israel is so rich nation and they want Palestine to take over so that it becomes like ISIS and Al-Qaeda. But Israel is also messed up, but not as much as North Korea, ISIS and Al-Qaeda, at-least they got some freedom, but there are no nations that got 100% freedom since that would make no sense, freedom means you are allowed to decide and that means I'm allowed to do whatever I want? That's not true since there are rules in all nations even in Sweden, since Sweden got prison and assassins the people who killed Olof Palme since the government wanted him out. It is possible that the government assassinated Olof Palme since they wanted to get a new prime minister and of-course they would never admit it unless they want people to trust the government less.
