Elizabeth! Fancy seeing you here! Yes, Allison's great. Really nice voice (but I'd love to hear your take on that, with a reaction sometime?). I first saw her accompanied by her pal Josh Turner, doing covers like _Crazy_ and _Autumn in New York,_ then discovered her channel. Lots of really interesting songs there, that go perfectly with her vintage look.

As someone who dresses vintage and once dyed their hair an orangey red, she has exactly the aesthetic I was TRYING to go for. It makes me sad to see how many people think that art is just something you have to have talent for and that's that. Not only does it devalue all the practice, time, blood, sweat and tears that the performer has put into their craft, but it also devalues what YOU are able to do if you also put in practice. Art is practice. Art is dedication. No one is born being able to sing, draw, or play an instrument. And you can do it too!
This is so beautiful. The kind of unexpected cover you would hear in a series finale to a beloved series and you would immediately scramble on to KZread to search for.

Why though? I'm a pretty big fan of Pixies myself and I thought a 60s lounge style cover would be pretty fitting for the song. If I had any little criticisms before clicking it would just be "Oh look, another Where is my Mind cover." since it's one of the most accessible and easy to reinterpret Pixies songs.

Allison Young is incrediable in this. Her acting really makes the emotional and curious side of the song come out
I always imagined the original sung in a dark huge cave at the beach far from people, after a wild night in the city with the wrong crowd, but this takes the same song, oh so faithfully, with a different wistful personality in a ballroom setting. Great arrangement, vocals, whistles, and wardrobe! Special mention to the cellist showing you can play great accompanying cello and still vibe to the music.. There is in particular one "where" in this song which is breathtaking. Thank you.

grace and elegance..
Frank Black would love this. Heck anyone would love this. It's so well done. She captured the confusion of the original and the soul of it. What an amazing arrangement.
Love Allison Young so much, her voice is amazing and suits the style so much.
This is somehow far more jarring than the original. It’s the airy carefree composition smashing against the lyric’s which create this absurdist moment that I can’t get enough of. Beautiful.
Just draw droppingly gorgeous...both the perfect rendion and Allison herself. The band, as usual, are just sublime.
Heavenly and at the same time so Earthly. Pixies version is so overwhelming and hypnotizing in a way that makes you feel absorbed. Nevertheless, these arrangements provoke an overwhelming and hypnotizing feeling that elevates the spirit. I could visualize the lyrics with a bit of irony and beauty, less nostalgic than before. It brought me warmth.
OH MY ! The first BEAT that dropped my soul danced and I felt such a beautiful energy... Seriously ... WHAT IS THIS ? MAGIC? amazing music, amazing sounds, beautiful voice, gorgeous piano, violin, and everything ❤❤💖💖😍😍
2:00 - something magical happens and this performance went from dreamy to full on fairies in the wood. Such a voice, such a beautiful arrangement. Strings can do that.
