I just went on a holiday to London and Manchester, and I absolutely enjoyed myself. I wish I could move to the UK someday so that I would be able to experience the whole of British lifestyle!

I haven't heard downright in a long time, but it is an adverb used to create emphasis on a point.

It's funny. Because of Covid I didn't go abroad on holiday for over 3 years. But this year I have been abroad twice, soon to be three times. At the end of July, I went to Amsterdam with my girlfriend. A couple weeks later, I went to Paris to see a couple friends. And this Friday I am off to the Azores with my parents to see my sister and her son, which also means I shall be missing the pub meetup on Tuesday
