Can I just say I love how much you seem to genuinely enjoy talking to these strangers? These seem quite accurate but quite positive as well, apart from beige food. And Americans are mostly guilty of shouting and hoping that their english shouting suddenly transforms in another language. And yes, English speakers have a hard time learning languages mostly because people that speak English can’t pass an opportunity to practice English with a native speaker. I am an absolute sucker for a good British , Scottish, welsh and Irish accents, Australian too!

The difference between British and German isn't so big. The biggest difference is that Tea is not so popular in Germany. Mostly germans prefer coffee. But others prefer tea. That is very personal. Germans like to talk over bad weather as well.

I think I had never heard about British stereotypes but it was really interesting to know more about it. I always thought that they probably know other languages and I had the idea that almost 70% of the population were bilingual, unfortunately I was wrong. Besides, as my classmates said I thought they were cold people because normally European people are known for that. I really enjoyed the video. Thank you. !!! ((:

Speaking of teeth, many American people come to Mexico to have their teeth performed or maintained, especially in the border area, since for them the treatment is cheaper in Mexico than in the United States. due to in Mexico a medical consultation is paid in Mexican pesos and not in dollars.

It's all true but bad teeth. An obnoxious legend. The food culture has remarkably improved over the last twenty years. Fusion and contamination with other traditions have finally obliterated the settled belief of English cusine as negligible. A peculiar one: why some Brits hang about pubs in full winter dressed like it were July? I asked once, and the answer from the girl I'd go out with, in a nice flowered summer frock in February or so, was, "Well, It's more practical when you have to walk from pub to pub". The notorious pub crawl. I took her statement at face value and I still stick to it. If you have any other explanation for that freezing behaviour, please write in the comments. 😁👇

Off course some of these stereotypes are typical British. But other preconceptions like the thing about teeth are only assumed by for instance by the Americans. The fixation on tea is real. If you confront an Englishman, Scott of Welsh person with an unsolvable problem, (Like:"How can our economy survive after Brexit?) before he thinks about it...... he (or she) runs off to the kitchen to put the kettle on!!. (And if that doesn't work...a pint or any alcoholic beverage will solve any problem e.g. Covid? Throw in a Party! Match lost? Get pissed! Holiday with you mother in law? Get loaded on Christmas eve before you meet her. (Or marry a foreign girl so you won't understand what your mother in law is complaining about!)*. I have a few friends from the UK and yes, they all speak English and most of them also an obscure dialect of Gaelic but that doesn't matter. On 'the continent' (As if the British Isles aren't situated on the same tectonic plate) most of us speak a little English (or in France at least "Franglais"). Most striking to me is the fact that the UK society is still divided in several 19th century classes and they all live to that without bothering even though Queen Elisabeth II died (and will keep her stif upper lip forever). *BTW, don't make the same mistake like Collin Firth in Lover Actually by learning Portugese because you in that case can understand your mother in law again and until boxing day you ar in misery.

not all Brits like tea, not all Italians are great cooks, not all Brazilians are amazing footballers, I don't believe in stereotypes very much because, often are inaccurate, they may or may not match but are often based on individual experiences ,they are not necessarily bad or harmful. But making an opinion or judgment about someone based on general stereotypes may not be fair....As always, great episode Mitch!
