I Love British English, way more than the US spoken. And also the accents. But I like most when Mick is speaking 😍

As a linguist and lover of Great Britain, I would have liked to hear more of the actual accents that were discussed. BTW when my husband (from upstate New York, rather WASPy) and I (northern German) honeymooned in southern England, we were often asked where we were from esp. since both our accents become more British instead of American when travelling in England :-). Mine in particular I think...with a bit of German in there that I cannot hide as much as I'd like to :-).

Thank you for a great video. Once again it's Easy English to my rescue! Teaching online today at short notice due to storm Eunice. I always know I'll find what I need in your videos. A quick early-morning worksheet created and my class is sorted! I'll be using the 'Don't do this in Britain' video later too.

But in the south of Spain they speak so fast and they cut the endings as well and they have way more relaxed way of life than in Madrid. It looks like this theory is not true for Spain. :D But it is true for my coutry, for Slovenia. In villages we generallyc tend to speak slower.

I really can't tell which English accent I like best - they are all beautiful in their way. When visiting Northern Ireland, I was fascinated by their melodic sounding accent, for instance.

8:32 --> I absolutely agree to the logic he postulated: in cities people tend to shorten and speak really quick, while in the countryside or suburbs, people speak complete and authentically. It's really nice to hear about the different accents in the UK. I would love to hear them in person if I get a chance to be there someday. 😄😄

I have a friend from Lancashire in England, He taught me standard English but when he speaks his local northern accent, I say whaaaaat? Don't understand anything. For me I think BBC accent is the most delightful accent in English but I might change my opinion in the future.

The Irish accent? There are dozens of Irish accents. My favourite Irish accent is from Inis Mór and Gaoth Dobhair comes 2nd. In Wales the Gwynnedd accent is lovely. In Scotland I love the Sgitheanach accent the most, in Merseyside-Lancashire the Toxteth and Kirby Scouse Liverpool accents are cool. Already the accents in Liverpool vary from a neighbourhood to the next, slightly but for musicians it is noticeable. In Yorkshire they talk good English. The Ango-Saxon dialects from South East are not the easiest to understand for me. Domnonia is OK. Straclyth too.

As non native speaker I think cockney accent is the most beautiful accent in the UK the second maybe southern wales. The worse British accent is Liverpool/scouse it doesn't sound like English at all😅😂

About that theory about people speaking fast in the cities: in Poland it's the opposite. But also look at the English villages - don't people there cut all the words?

Once you get too Nottingham the accents go downhill. All the Northern accents sound great. Worst accent imo is Cockney, its like their b...s haven't dropped. Sorry but it really sounds like that when they're shouting.
