("God" is Hidden in Hbr and Grk therefore the word "God" cannot be found in Hbr or Grk) How many languages do you speak? Do you understand Hebrew or Greek? Here is (from the) knowledge of Abba Patyr' you can test. This is in re to 'heathen nations' (which all are 'now' even Israel as Jews) or anyone 'who is' religious. Can they/you call upon the Heavenly Father as "God" and He answers? I'm curious... So then, where is His Promise to appear if you know Him and call Him? How do you read these? Forgive me for this correction but according to writing of Eusebius and Constantine, the name of the Messiah was changed to “Iesous Horus Christos“, not transliterated, at Nicaea to reference the Roman sun god that they created. Constantine was a sun worshiper. He worshipped Mithradates. This is why every Roman Catholic picture of him has a sun halo. And, in Ancient Greek Iesous meant hail Zeus. Constantine and Eusebius were thoroughly anti-Semitic. They changed the names, and outlawed the feasts and the true Sabbath. Read their writing. You’ll get a far better understanding of what “Christianity” really is: pagan sun god worship on the “venerable day of the sun” as Constantine put it, worshipping a lawless christos instead of the true Hebrew Messiah.

This is the understanding I came to based on my research as well. Christian's worship on a day reserved for a pagan god & use a name created by a worshipper of said pagan God. Saturday is the true sabbath & Yahweh or Yashua r the true names.

The phrase "planao week", is planetary week in english. And what does this reveal? According to the greek bible concordance, the word PLANAO means "wander, deceive, alter, lead astray, error". The planetary week is literally the wandering week, that deceives, alters Gods week, leads men astray, into error. When Yahushuas deciples asked him how men would be led astray, Yahushua amswered: "make sure noone DECEIVES you". The word he used was the greek word PLANAO, the same word as PLANETARY week. What week did God use? According to historical sources: The Hebrew Sabbath was originally a Sabbathon . . . it was celebrated at intervals of seven days, corresponding with the changes in the moon’s phases . . . I've seen teachings that the Messiah's name is actually Yashaya and the Most High's name is Ahayah.

there is not one archeologiclal or historical proof for those names. They only go back as far as 1910 !!!!!!!!!!! Put frankly, the pronunciation of Yahshua is impossible on a number of levels. It violates basic Hebrew phonology, as Hebrew linguistics do not allow the waw (ו), as in יהושע (Yehoshua), to be silent. The pronunciation Yahshua likewise cannot be found with that spelling anywhere in history, in writings in Hebrew or otherwise, prior to the 1900s. Hebrew scholar Michael Brown emphatically denies that "Yahshua" was the Hebrew name of Jesus: The original Hebrew-Aramaic name of Jesus is Yeshu'a, which is short for Yehōshu'a (Joshua), just as Mike is short for Michael... Why then do some people refer to Jesus as Yahshua? There is absolutely no support for this pronunciation - none at all - and I say this as someone holding a Ph.D. in Semitic languages. My educated guess is that some zealous but linguistically ignorant people thought that Yahweh's name must have been a more overt part of our Savior's name, hence YAHshua rather than Yeshua - but again, there is no support of any kind for this theory... The original form of the name Jesus is Yeshua, and there is no such name as yahshu'a (or, yahushua or the like).[15] So, for the record, once again, THERE IS NO SUCH NAME AS YAHSHUA. It didn't exist in biblical times and it has not existed as a genuine Hebrew name in history - until people who really didn't understand Hebrew made it up, thinking that it somehow restored the "Yah" element (from "Yahweh") into the Savior's name... there's no such either as Yahushua - Joshua was pronounced ye-ho-shu-ah. All praises to YHWH in the name of Yeshua.

I lived in Israel for 10 years as a chef and learned Hebrew there (for practical reasons) and this forcing of "Yah" (no matter how respectful that shortened Name may be) into the Name of Yeshua and other proper Names of places and persons in the Bible that I witness users of the "Yahusha/Yahushua" doing is a mere travesty. People with a poor grasp of Hebrew grammar and root words may be fooled by this deception, which is what it is if it is manufactured untruth masquerading as something that it is not. I understand the sentiments are out of the utmost respect, but it is still twisting holy Names.

I think people argue more about his name then having a personal relationship with him. Everybody wants to be right. Let's talk about those commandments that most of us don't obey. Don't get me wrong his name is important but if the wicked hands of others didn't change his name many of his people wouldn't be lost right now.

Before God Saved me I was laying down with my guns trying to go to sleep but I could not stop thinking about Murdering some people that would come against me, wial I was laying there something was pushing down on the Cushion I was laying on I thought what is that I’m the only one in this Basement faceing the only entrance, then I felt this really evil presence, first thing that came to my mind was Jesus Save me, I didn’t even say it out loud i cried out to Jesus in my head, then I turned around and I seen the demon with my own 2 eyes it was blacker then night stood about 7 or so foot tall standing over me I was trying to rebuke it In Jesus Name couldn’t speak with In seconds that thing ran from me, I jumped up and said wow this stuff is for real I said ok God I’m listening God Spoke to me inside of me and said if I don’t change my ways He was gonna let them have there way with me. Next day I went to my gang gave them back the gun told them keep it keep the money keep it all I’m out, moved away and started seeking The LORD I have not seen that demon nor a different one ever since praise Jesus Christ!!!!!!!

Hmm...according to the book of McCabbes the images and the names of Yihweh (ehyeh asher ehyeh) as well as his prophets were changed by the Romans. This is why they removed what is know as the apocrypha books from the Bible literature...

I see Jeff left you hanging! I'll answer this for him. There is no e,i,j,v are w in NY'KUD called HEBREW. No translation of NY'KUD into HEBREW or Yiddish! The Greeks removed the NY'KUD alphabets a,u,q,o,y and h ,and replaced them with e,i,j,v,and w! Waw is UAU,vav,is UAU! They even used 'oo' in place of U. There is no transliteration either! Changing NY'KUD alphabets changes meanings of words and words used in a conversation! But replacing Q,A,U,,O,Y,AND H With e i,j,v and w are not NY'KUD called HEBREW!

See this is why I’m having trouble with my faith in God now. I know He is real, but what am I supposed to do if I can’t figure out His son’s true name? Everybody keeps changing it over and over again and it just brings me down. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Unlike today where we usually keep our name in the same form it is in our principal language, it was once common to translate one’s name into the language of whichever people you were communicating. This happened repeatedly through history and this practice has only changed in the last 250 years. For example the names of people such as William Duke of Normandy (William the Conqueror, King William I of England), Composer George Frederic Handel, Theologian John Calvin, Guy Fawkes, etc etc are all English translations of these peoples names and not the names they probably thought of themselves as being called. Most royalty used Latinised versions of their names for all official documents and correspondence from at least the mediaeval period until fairly recently and many had English, French, German, Spanish etc, versions of their names. In England the royal families of much of the Middle Ages spoke Norman French mostly, and for much of that era would have used the French versions of their names for regular conversation with their friends and family more than the English versions, the Latin versions would be used for official documents (and anything relating to the Church of the time), yet most of their subjects would use the English version of their names. It would have been similar in the 18th century when most of the British Royal family would have seen German as their first language. In other countries the local languages would translate names of foreigners in much the same way. Johann, John, Jean, Juan, Jack and Jacques could be,for example, different translations of the same name, as could Karl, Charles and Carlos, or Mary, Marie, Maria, Mariah etc. As both individualism and specific national culture and identity as become more important we have tended to see the version of our names as reflecting in part who we are as people and place far more importance on this than was done in earlier times. It is quite likely that early Christians such as Paul used which ever version of Jesus’ name was required to communicate in the language of those to whom he was writing. It was probably considered there was no point in trying to call someone a name that couldn’t be spoken by those reading because the actual sounds weren’t part of that language. Today we would view this quite differently, but today we not only have the ability to record sounds and so hear how name might sound, but view other languages and cultures in a different way. That’s not to say that people in the past haven’t been forced to have their names changed against their will. Both slaves and conquered peoples often were forced to change their names at the wishes of their conquerors or masters as acts of subjugation. However, this is vastly different to what is happening here and happened historically when names are simply translated. I guess today we view our names as having a much greater significance to our individual identities than perhaps most people did in earlier times and as such the language of our name matters more to us, whereas once it was the name that mattered and it wasn’t considered a problem to use different translations (or transliterations) of that name.

It is a translation to English - not a change. Like the word we have is water but it translates as agua for Spanish language speakers.

The shortening from "Yehoshua" to "Yeshua" is not a transfer from Hebrew to Aramaic, but rather from an older version of Hebrew to a newer one. They're both Hebrew. The language just evolved over time, like all languages do. There are parts of the Bible where Yehoshua, the High Priest from Zech.3:10 is called Yeshua, just because the language shifts. So the word "Yehoshua" is a combination of two words: "Yehovah," which is the HOLY NAME of God, and "Yeshuat," which means "Salvation. The name Yehoshua and the name Yeshua both mean the same thing... "The LORD's Salvation," or "The Salvation of Yehovah." Thank you for this video!

Yehova is not god's holy name. It comes from Yahweh, but the Hebrews didn't speak that name aloud out of respect, and to make sure they didn't forget not to speak it when reading aloud from scripture, they wrote YeHoWaH. The name still was Yahweh. Latin translators didn't know this fact and translated it into Jehova. A word without meaning.

The four Eberith / Hebrew letters (Tetragrammaton) of the Name of Yahuah are all vowels, and the third letter is a U. We hear it in hallel U Yah, yasha YahU, NetanyahU, Uyiqara (the Eberith word for the 3rd book of Mushah), and YahUsha. This sixth letter U was adopted into the Greek script as UPSILON. The V we know today uses the lower lip and upper teeth to produce a buzzing sound, making it a consonant. The marks called niqqud vowel-marks are an 8th century invention of the Masoretes (traditionalists), a sect of Anan's Karaite movement. These are not found in any of the Dead Sea Scrolls, since vowels are written letters. There's no V sound in Eberith, Greek, or Latin; the shape V was the Latin letter sounded as our letter U. Some misunderstood words this vowel is found in are VENUS and GLADIVS, and they should be UENUS and GLADIUS. The symbol we call the "double-U" was invented by a type-setter in the 15th century to save space and time. YHVH, spelled in Hebrew yod, hey, Vav, hey, was originally in pictograph form. Each letter represents a word or action. Yod means hand, hey means Behold, Vav means nail, hey means Behold. "Behold the Hand, Behold the Nail". There was no J in Hebrew. There was no V either. Technically it should be a U. Yod was pronounced "ya". "Yashar" (spelled yod-shin-resh, ISR in English) means Upright, or Upright one. El means God. So the spelling of ISRAEL in Hebrew should sounds like Yasharel which means "upright One of God". The Romans butchered the transliterations for their own purposes. YHUH (there was no V in Hebrew at that time) should sounds like Yah-u-ah & His Son's name was the same name as the Joshua of the old testament. It should be pronounced Yahusha, which means the Salvation of God. Constantine was a Mithras worshipper and he amalgamated the religions. That is why they had Mary worship. The pagans worshipped the goddess, the Queen of Heaven. Mary replaced her. They hated the Jews so they changed the Jewish Sabbath to Sunday (they were sun worshippers) and they made all of the Jewish holidays occur on their holy days, the days they celebrated their gods. That's why we have Christmas trees and Easter bunnies. There's a huge revelation waiting to be unraveled about the holidays. God is pouring out His Spirit and many are waking up to Truth. Lew, you are right that all the letters of Yah's name function as vowels. How did you find that out, I am just curious? But anyway, I believe it's YHWH so its a W or a Wah not a U. You see it in words like Towrah where the W is silent and Shalowm. The big point however, is that Yah's name being too holy to say and unpronounceable is a flat out lie.

You don’t have Yah at the beginning of a name in Hebrew but Yeh Yehoshua our Joshua. All these made up transliterations is the real problem just bringing confusion and contention which is Pride‼️

OK, two corrections concerning your Greek: Firstly, in Greek, the "Y" sound, as you call it, is not an autonomous letter, but is instead formed by adding the Iota (ι) before the vowel whose pronunciation is to be modified; in that context, the Iota in the beginning of the name is the exact equivalent of the i sound. Combine that with the fact that sometimes, especially before the hellenistic canonisation of spelling, the eta (η) letter was often used interchangeably in written speech with the letter epsilon (ε), much like early latin I and J or U and V, gives you an original pronunciation of the first syllable as "Ye-", exactly like the original, the pronunciation altered later much in the same way you describe later concerning the altering of the latin incarnation of the name, into "Ee"- or "Yee-". Secondly, there are two equivalents of the "h" sound: the daseia (δασεία) used as a marking above a vowel, usually at the very beginning of a word beginning with a vowel, but sometimes, depending on the grammar that was formulated by what sounded good in Greek ears at the time, in the first syllable after a consonant. It was also used above the letter ρ (rho) when it began the word - hence the english spelling of words like Rhodes. Its effect was that light altering of the vowel or rho to give it that extra sound of h, much like the one you make when pronouncing "Yehoshua". As far as consonants go, there is khi(χ) which, depending on its position and the surrounding letters is pronounced not only hardly (f.e. as in Xeir, Χειρ, a hand), but also softly (f.e. as in Charisma, Χάρισμα, a gift). So in this case, too, if indeed the original translated word was the Hebrew original "Yehoshua", it's not a matter of an absence of equivalents, but rather, much like the adding of the final -s for reasons of the name sounding much better and natural in Greek, for phoenetical reasons. Greeks simply had an obsession with making everything sound good to them - they invented canonised grammatical rules, spelling and grammatical and syntactical phenomena modifying their own words in speaking and in writing just for that reason. And a name like "Yehosous" (Ιεχoσούς) would sound absolutely and terribly cacophonous to a Greek, even today. That's a far more plausible reason why that "ho" was dropped - although I suspect that, quite simply, they used the far more popular and common at the time Aramaic version of the name as a basis for the translation into the common hellenistike koine (that is to say, from a local argot to the universal argot of the time, the ones the translators would have more easily learned in the first place), and that is why that syllable never really came into play. One will never know. Just my input as a native speaker and an enthusiast of glossology and translation. Great work on the rest. Lovely work in all. Three years later I read this. As a Greek, how do you answer those that say Zeus in Greek or the name of another Greek god is the derivative for what has become Jesus? That they changed it to trick people into using a false name?

@@roofpad1 I didn't really understand your question. Do you mean that they suppose Jesus to be a derivative of Zeus, or that Zeus is a derivative of Jesus? That they changed Zeus into Jesus to facilitate the transition to the new religion, or that they changed Jesus into Zeus so as to trick people into worshipping a so-called false god? While the short answer is, rather obviously, a simple "No", the detailed answers would be to some degree different, again obviously, factoring in chronology, linguistic lineage and influence as well as historical usage, to name but a few factors. However, to some degree, they would also be one and the same answer: different languages of different civilizations, not even belonging to the same linguistic family. Greek is Indo-european, Hebrew and Aramaic are Semitic. They have influenced each other a lot due to contact over milennia, but that's about it. All the names have roots and meaning, and the roots of the two words are different, regardless of which is supposed to be the original and what the derivative. Besides, Jesus wasn't (and isn't) in any way close to being any sort of name of God in the Tanakh, so far as I know, it was just the name of one of the Israelite leaders. That is a purely christian usage of the name. But that's not a subject for me to go in depth into, you'd need an expert on those texts and languages for that. Closer comparisons could be drawn with other gods or at least divine roles shared between what became the Greek pantheon and what was the Canaanite pantheon, from which the two prime names of the Hebrew God were derived (El and Yahweh), especially keeping in mind that both pantheons were probably heavily influenced, maybe even linguistically, from the Egyptian Pantheon as well the Hittite one (and other patheons of other indo-european peoples of Asia minor), not to mention the peoples of Sumer and Akkad. The comparisons aren't linguistic, so far as I know, but hey, I am not a proper linguist. You'd need one of those, or a historian/archaelogist for the eras with linguistic specialisation to answer your questions fully. Possibly a researcher team of them, even. But in short, if I had to provide an answer, it would be much the same as almost always: a lack of proper research and even basic knowledge, and an overabundance of fanaticism, regardless of the meaning of your question and, hence, the provenance of the claim. Because in the end, would it make a difference which claim was it and where it came from? The content and context are similar in their logic, just opposing in the team they're rooting for. :)

Isn’t it true that Greeks add the suffix “-us” to the end of foreign names in order to Hellenize them? (ie “Joseph” -> “Josephus”) With this being the case the name “Jesus” or “Iesous” would have sounded like “Ieso” to the Greek ear (once the suffix is removed). This is why the Arabic version of this name “ ‘Isa” is very close to its original rendering “Ieso.”

Ah, okay. Here is the problem. In the Hebrew text, before the niqudot (vowel pointings) were added to the text, the name was written as יהושע, which we can transliterate as Y-H-W-Sh-Ah (the "W" can be a consonant - "w," or a vowel - "o" or "u"). When they added the niqudot 1000 years ago this name was written as יְהֹושֻׁעַ which we can transliterate as yehoshua. Note the three diagonal dots under the letter "shin." This represents the "u" sound in Yehosh-U-a. So, the traditional pronunciation of the name, based on the Masoretic text is Yehoshua.

Yep we could baptise in the name of Joshua however apparently the the distinction was made to not confuse Joshua of the Old Testament with Jesus of the New Covenant I don't know if that's true but kind of makes sense I found no other explanation for The Name Game however I remember praying in the spirit and God told me his name is Holy among Every Nation they didn't say language but maybe that's the answer? I think the bottom line is if you speak English in KJV is the word of God and Jesus is the name of the son of God

This is based on what I was taught many years ago, but also, you will notice that you only see Yehoshua in the Hebrew texts of the Old Testament and Yeshua only in the Aramaic texts of the Old testament (see Ezra 2:2).

Are you referring to "My Salvation" in verse 2? If so, that is not the name Yeshua, that is the Hebrew noun Yeshuah, a feminine noun meaning deliverance/salvation. This noun may sound the same as the Aramaic name Yeshua, but it is a completely different word.

I am not sure what Hebrew you are reading from. My Hebrew Bible of Isaiah 12:2 is, הנה אל ישׁועתי Yeshua-ti for "My Yeshua". Yod-shen-vav-ayin with the suffix "ti" for "my" I understand the difference but the Hebrew letters are the same and as you know there were no vowel marks in the DSS of Isaiah and both have the same meaning of deliverance/salvation. Also, the Hebrew Matthew supports this same meaning.

But because the enemy has done soooooo much to confuse language because of the power we have to create by speaking in faith maybe they just feel that because the jewish synagogues have been infiltrated by the enemy they find it hard to trust aaaaaaall of the vowel points. Thanks for the simple breakdown. I have heard so many say Lesous is hail zeus to honor greek culture, but I can't find any sources that prove this. I have used google translate to see if this is the case too and it doesn't produce this either. I do wonder why we added the J given we had all the letter sounds that already existed in the Greek version.

Having lived in several countries, my name has always stayed the same. When did personal names ever change? Yes, culturally, names do have the same meaning, but if your name is John, in Spanish-speaking countries, they don't change it to Juan; they will call you John. So, although we can understand the "evolutionary" process of HOW we got the name Jesus, it still doesn't explain the validity of the change and WHY. I understand why some people changed their names when coming into Ellis Island, because phonetically it was written; and in this type of instance, we know the WHY. Names have always been important, and IMHO, it seems all the "Greek" in the Bible was to create a divide from the "Israel/Jewishness" of its origin. Of course, how could we prove that?

Research what was accomplished at the counsel of Nicea. Yes, the powers that be have substituted their Jesus Christ for Yehoshua, Son of Yehovah the one and only true GOD. They tried to bury the fact that he was the prophet YEHOVAH promised Moses. A lot of the new testament was only written in Greek, and that's just to make the Word of God accessible to the common people, so that they can also know the Lord. Let's talk about changing names. In Hebrew, the name of God is יהוה, which we can transliterate as YHWH (Yahweh). So how did this become "the LORD" in English Bibles? Talk about "changing the name."

Even with this infant language that came from the dominating Germanic tribes of Britain transforming it into Englaland we are able to reasonably pronounce His proper sounding Name using the alpha bet hence "Yahweh"! Using the translation from Hebrew into our English letters deriving a sound similar to the original. That makes it confusing why they would come up with something so different and change it, I see no good coming from it! Greek language had also the y sound like in yes - just no separate letter for it. Better say like they treated the I of Greek more as the English does with the letter y: it's a vowel or a consonant, depending on the surrounding letters, or sounds.

Being a NT Greek teacher, you are spot on. Yes names get a sigma tagged on the end (S). I didn't know about the Latin part, but know when Jerome did the Latin Vulgate in early 400 AD, he translated the Hebrew but the church had been using the Greek Septuagint, so I think Jerome consulted names from it. Plus Latin imported much Greek into Latin.

+DC R: And I wrote something similar to that above. Some people would not, could not get my son's name correct and mind you, it's an easy name. I made him, even as a child, correct adults in a respective manner. To call him something other was not his name and he was not to give anyone a pass. When some people continued to pronounce it incorrectly, I told him to tell them just the first syllable of his two syllable name and they never got it wrong again. And yes, it is disrespectful to not call someone by their correct name. I think some people do that intentionally as if the person is insignificant to them. What's in a name? Everything.

The Latin J & the Hebrew Y are the tenth letter in both languages . In Hebrew , the letter Yod ( Y ) is valued 10 as a numeral figure .

Why did it take until 1769 for Iesous or Iesus to be translated into English as Jesus when the name was already in circulation? (Jesus Lubeck, Fort Jesus 1500s). Also, some Greek gods’ names and some of the rulers’ names ended with the letters “us”. Like Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus Augustus (Constantine), who’s actually said to have created a god name (Jesus) in his own image. Constantine believed himself to be re-incarnated Apollo-son of ZeUS.

There is a huge change in the Greek language from the time period that the first Septuagint was created even until now. Koin Greek is in reference to Common Greek. There were different styles of Greek even anciently. To say that studying modern Greek language will give answers 2 the name Jesus and it's validation is almost crazy to even think possible.

Indeed, Elaine. I've been reading more of the comments here. Even in light of linguistics and transliterations, there's no need for all this, "We know, but They don't know" mentality. Learning about the original Hebrew and / or Greek is all fine and dandy, but "Jesus" is still valid, as we are Anglo-Saxon's responding in our own language. My name is Steven, but imagine if I were to vilify Hispanics for calling me Estaban! I've been called this, and I accepted it graciously--I did not berate them and say with vehemence, "My name is STEVEN!!!" That would be uncalled for, I'm sure all the politically correct robots would compute--but when it comes to one's Faith, it's open season--such nonsense. Another example, if a toddler looked up at me with wide innocent eyes, arms outstretched and called me Steeby, would I reject that child? Of course not! The very idea of scolding the little one is unconscionable, yet here's this young girl in the previous thread, acting like a know it all, then accusing you of being such--she's a little hypocrite. The knowledge of the original language meanings is good to know, but how these Heebie-Jeebies use the knowledge to berate others means they are, quite frankly, lacking in the Love Dept. If we have all knowledge, but not love, then we have nothing, so says the Scriptures. Some of these people are being ridiculously self-righteous, and it disgusts me. @@lseal7 Well, I live in Montreal, Quebec. So, maybe that particular brand of coffee is not available where you live. But if a person enjoys MH, then I guess I shouldn't be a java-snob about it. At least neither of us are Mormons--Lol... (I don't drink alcohol though, but I like non-alcoholic beer.) About the Holy Spirit: I suppose there could be a theological debate as to whether the Holy Spirit is "He/She", or "Neither male or female", for Spirit has no form, as physical men & women do. On the other hand, perhaps there's a "spiritual essence" to male and female "energies". In a non-sexual way, a heterosexual male may be in touch with the "feminine energy" and a heterosexual female may be in touch with the "masculine energy". In that sense, I speculate that the Holy Spirit has this revelatory aspect, but I personally don't think The Holy Spirit is, in actuality, these two sexes/genders. I believe a young man should also learn how to cook a meal and a young woman should also learn how to change a spark plug--but they can squabble over who's next to change the baby's diaper--Lol...

@@mrs.t3669 Because Scripture says it's "yah". Yahshua literally translates to "God saves" which is what Matthew 1:21 says. Matthew 1:21: and you shall call him Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins. Now under Jewish teaching, they knew only God could save people from their sins. Yeshua does not translate to to this. Yashua does. There is more justification of why I know this, but this is the short answer. Jesus, or Yashua, is known as part of the trinity. Because Yashua was and is a third part of the same God (forgive my butchering of complex teachings), he wouldve had the name of God as the Hebrew people knew him. The very short answer is God's names point out his defining characteristics. The name jehovah jireh, jehovah nissi,jehovah shalom. All of these bear God's name and the second part of the name historically gives the defining characteristic. Yashua could be translated as jeshua in greek. Literally it means "God saves." You have the name "God" and then the second part gives the defining characteristic, saves. The Name Yeshua does not translate "God saves". Yashua, does. Forgive me, but that is the best I can do at 4:30am. If you need more knowledge on this, I suggest you look at many videos and then ask God himself. The name Yeshua does not exist in Matthew in the original texts where we get the scripture from. The first part of the name Yesh is not biblically how God revealed his names. He revealed himself as Yawheh. Each name used for God, all started in Hebrew as "Yah". Because Jesus was and is God, his name would've been "Yahshua ".

His name is Yahshua and his fathers name is ElShaddai Ehyah Asher Ehyah, the Great I Am that I Am, all praise to Him! Don't forget the Torah!

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly, but I think that both of these names do follow the same logic - hoshey'a and Yehoshu'a, both ending with an "a" vowel.

Thank you for answering again!! Yes, I agree completely, and that is the point of my argument. If these 2 names follow this pattern of transliteration, why wouldn't the Greek transliteration of Jesus' Hebrew name follow the same rule?? The Hebrew name Yeshua ends just like this two names. It would be reasonable to expect that the name Yeshua would follow the same pattern.

Jesus does not mean Joshua! That is wrong! Joshua is the closest name to choose if someone wanted to translate it to English, but it's not a true translation. I was baptized a Christian, however, from now on I am going by scripture. I do not consider myself to be any "religion." The Romans totally made up Christianity and Judaism. It's ALL wrong! I go by the Torah & the new testament because I believe Yeshua is the Messiah.

Just a thought i had: if we translate his name to english shouldn't we transliterate his name from the original Hebrew instead of going through the different historical languages.. it kind of reminds me of Chinese whispers.. even thinking if its further translated from English it will be yet further from the original until one day it will be translated to a name that has no likeness to the original at all🤷🏽

wish I had gotten in on this earlier...the "J" sound comes from the Latin NUMBER 1, which looks like "Hod" I believe?, and it was the ending point of VI or VII...like this VIIJ = 8, VIJ = 7, VJ = 6. And it was usurped (my opinion) by the Jesuits, just before they became an "Order", so that the name of Yesu would be corrupted. I can not prove that, but my research into the Jesuits and the letter J has led me to this conclusion. Jesus is still my savior! But personally I call him "savior" or "rescuer" in my own prayer closet. I want to see a bible which has EVERYTHING in English. Like Christ = The Anointed" etc.

Why stop with the Hebrew nation to determine the names of the Father and Son? In Exodus 3 we find Moses asking The Most High what is His Name. The Almighty simply said: I am that I am or I exist because I exist or I am The Source of all that exists. Before and for a time after the flood only one language was spoken.by all generations up to the tower of Babel. The Most High had given instructions to Noah on how to build a boat large enough to save him his family and all that came aboard. 8 people were on that boat and made it through the flood unharmed and given a rainbow a symbol/promise the earth would never be destroyed by flood again.. Next we read of the human, earthly plan to build a large tower to save them from and if there were another flood. The Most High became angry when He saw the people turning their backs and rejecting His promise. Almighty confused the language of the people and scattered them so they could no longer work. The Most High showed Noah what to build to save the people and they laughed, mocked and rejected The Most High. Now there were many languages but no mention of a Hebrew until Abraham hundreds of years later. What language did Noah continue to speak after the flood?The Most High told Moses He was The Source of all creation and that was His Name throughout all generations. Why are we getting hung up on languages, spellings and pronunciations rather than identifying The Most High for who He truly is? The same goes for His Son, Messiah. Are we receiving The Father's spirit through His Son or are building another tower of Bal in our hearts.

So which name do we call on. Which is the name above every other name? You guys are so busy showing off your brain you forget to tell us the most significant most important point.

@@childofthe5773 COT5 his Name Y'shuah i.e. Jesus or Joshua means God Saves i.e. Salvation And that is Only Three In Hebrew, English, and Greek. All are saying through His acts of mercy for the World, that the people who believe will be Saved from their Sins. Some will believe and some will Not.
