Elvis had his own style, and he made it what it was. Elvis open up the door for white singers and opened up the door for black singers. Elvis had a great voice, had the looks. I've have always said Elvis was the nicest looking man I've ever seen. Both Elvis and Robert are both Sensational singers.

To be fair, by the time they met Elvis, the latter had entered his Howard Hughes phase - so very few would have been guaranteed an audience with him.

True , in a way everybody ‘stole ‘ from every other-body. But the more apt word is influenced’ than stole. Guess we all thieves. Lol

No matter how big the celebrities, they all become like giggling and emotional schoolgirls, when talking about Elvis. Meeting him must have been something that you would remember for the rest of your life. Elvis was in a league of his own, simple as that.

As Freddie said in an interview with his legendary sens of humor, everybody does that, but there is stealing, robbering and murdering…

Elvis started it all and loved mixing it up with other singers because they all had a love for music. Music was his life and he gave so much to us through his music. He stayed humble and kind always. What a gift he was to humanity.

Nice little montage of Robert talking about Elvis (Pop Quiz: How would we refer to Elvis if his first name had been "John"? LOL, I guess "Presley," but he NEEDED a single, iconic name). Someone once called Plant a walking encyclopedia of musical knowledge, so I'm sure he and Elvis and whoever just riffed off this and that faves of theirs in that famous convo! I LOVE hearing musical heroes talking about and appreciating THEIR musical (or Art in general) heroes!

I agree with you. No one stole anything. He sang and did everything better. Back then songs were passed around to many singers, they all recorded, few had hits but Elvis did have the hits. I find Robert very disrespectful to Elvis. Elvis never said bad things about anyone or mad fun of anyone

Don't ya just hate that word "stole." People who say that don't know what they're talking about because they have no understanding of how it all came to be, they need to go way back & look at it historically to see where & how it all began & follow the path up to Elvis. Then there are those who just dislike Elvis so much that they'll say anything.

And Carol all these rappers now "sample" everybody's music that came before them, why isn't that considered stealing?

your last bit there: In a college history class in the last century (!) (small--about 40 students, topic was modern american history) the professor asked everyone to go around the room and declare who they thought the most important/significant american was since the end of ww2 (1945). someone said Elvis, and the professor sort of scoffed. But i nodded kinda "Oh hell yeah, i can see that!" cos, like u and others say, no Elvis=no Beatles (at least as they were), no 60's revolutionary stuff, the 70's would have been diff, etc etc.

Any black artists songs that Elvis sang were paid royalties, he grew up dirt poor in a black community, check Baz Lurman with his friend Sam, he loved black music 🎶 you can't steal TALENT, check out Elvis and the black community part 1+2😊
