I totally agree with you!!! Keith Whitley died way before his own prime even!!! I love country legends like Merle, Waylon, Conway, Jonnie Cash, George Jones, Don Williams and Charlie Daniels as well and may god rest their souls, but this man would have been one as well!!! Sad

@@kevinchadler469 All the names you have mentioned tell me that you are a fan of REAL country music as I am. There are some real legends amongst those names but my own favourite is Waylon Jennings. What a voice he had. I agree that Keith died way too young and he too is a sad loss to country music.

Keith whitley is in the country hall of fame .long overdue he is a great country singer and bluegrass artist

Keith left this world too early. Had he stayed, he would rank right up there with the greats in country music. He was country. Who sounds like him in the stuff they call country today? They all have the fake country accent, their songs come out of the algorithm in the computer and they sound the same. Blending these two awesome singers like this is masterful. I like it as a duet. It is an era that is gone and I am afraid will never come back.

yes Keith did leave this world way too early (so young, only 32 😥) ... he is already a legend even in his short life, but you're right ... had Keith lived, he would have definitely ranked up there with all the iconic greats !!

Keith had a wonderful voice, a beautiful wife in Lorie Morgan, and a fantastic career ahead of him. What he didn’t do was stop drinking!! . He didn’t and THE DISEASE OF ALCOHOLISM took him from us and Lorie. SAD.

Keith and I are disdant relatives...we are the same age but never met...I am often asked if we are related ....I must say though, that Allison did a phenominal job on his song and she actually knew him

I just thought he covered country songs but after looking his bio up, they are covering him! He passed way back in '89. (RIP - gone way too soon - What a loss!) This song is basically hubby's & my song. Also, I truly love Don't Close Your Eyes! What a tearjerker!

Keith would of been one of the greatest country singers ever. He is so underrated. Have he lived and had a long career he would been every bit as big as Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson if not bigger. So sad.

Later I wanted to hear this song like in 2011 and came to discover it was Keith’s song and he had passed when I was like ten years old. I was devastated. But he lives forever through his music.

I had my time to die but made it back for the army. I have shit to do.

The last few moments where Keith's voice is a fading echo just makes me believe and think that he came back to sing this song with her and then his spirit returning back to beloved Eternity...
