But no, instead based of the vid Jiri made that i already had seen - Chael's asserting that wanting to be a better fighter is somehow the statement that makes Jiri a baby! Like wtf?

You can see in Jiris latest training video, his hands are slightly higher. Perhaps he will not change his style completely, just make minor adjustments. Also he could learn to check the kicks and be more patient when pressuring. I don’t believe he needs to completely change everything. Perhaps move in and out and less side to side, more like Alex’s movement. But in my opinion Jiri does not need to change completely. It’s not like he’s gonna come back as a wrestler. My opinion

Even against Rakic he looked very uneasy in there, Rakic was dominating him most of the fight. I think he needs a tune up fight, but the problem is if he gets a couple more wins in a row he's basically waiting for another title shot. I think another title shot is the last thing he needs, especially if it's Pereira lol.

Chael, you make a solid point about fighters over 28 facing challenges when trying to change their style, but Jiri Prochazka is 100% an exception. He has an unconventional approach and mindset that already make him stand out. His willingness to embrace the unorthodox is a huge advantage when it comes to him integrating new techniques and strategies. You cant overlook his athleticism and adaptability. Jiri's physical capabilities provide a strong foundation to successfully incorporate new skills, particularly in defense and grappling, without losing what makes him great. Working with top-tier coaches who specialize in these areas will help him develop a more well-rounded game. It just comes down to enhancing his strengths while addressing weaknesses, not reinventing the wheel. Improving defensive techniques doesn't mean Jiri has to give up his aggressive style. Enhanced head movement, footwork, and/or a high guard can make him a more elusive target while still allowing him to unleash his offensive prowess. Strategic training camps that focus on specific aspects of his game, like wrestling or ground control, could lead to significant improvements without overwhelming him. And we can't underestimate Jiri's mental toughness and warrior spirit. Learning new tricks will be tricky for him no doubt, but we've already seen his mindset can drive him to overcome obstacles. Evolution late in a fighters career is not impossible or unheard of, think Glover Teixeira, Daniel Cormier, Robbie Lawler, Michael Bisping, all who evolved their game to the next level after the age of 30 and got belts to show it. If he plays his cards right, he's going to remain a top contender and we might even see him get the LHW belt back around his waist.

Some people genetics are just better and jiri saying what he said he knows he need something added to his arsenal but what can you add when Thai man knocked you out trying to take him down and knocked you out twice in one fight with a punch and a kick and I feel bad for jiri bit he see the path forward it's just a very very hard trail to walk but Alex is a great fighter who done leaps and bounds better than all the mma community said he would but dam with that left hook there isn't much anyone can do about it until Alex meets a legit wrestler who is explosive on the take down he won't be beat might be knocked out again but as far as a dominant performance from someone I dont ever see that happening to Alex's now

Your statement about a fighter not using techniques they've just learned it's largely predicated on how long said fighter had been training to fight. A newer student is like a sponge and will adopt and implement new techniques very quickly. I've seen this dozens of times in actual matches.

Jiri needs fundamentals. That left hook he got dropped with at the end of round 1 was left for Alex on a silver platter. Jiri just walked right into range spamming jabs with his other hand by his waist, anyone could have hit that hook on him and honestly Hill was the same story if he doesn’t get his hands up it’s gonna be sane story whenever he gets it again. You have to be perfect fighting Poatan and these guys aren’t even doing the fundamentals.
