It's also not good to just start running when there's an unfamiliar dog growling at you, because it increases the chances of the that dog chasing you and biting you from 50% to 100%. Most of the time when people run from the police, it's because they did something, and cops know that. That's why standard procedure for them to pursue. Whether you're guilty or innocent, all you're doing when you run or resist is getting additional charges.

When I was 11 I had my brush with the law; I shoplifted from a grocery store and got caught. The only reason the owner decided not to call the cops was she knew my father personally and knew that when I told him I was permanently banned from the store and the reason why, he'd punish me way more severely than the cops. And he did; I think I was grounded for six months or so, which when you're that young feels like forever. But I swear just the fear of getting arrested scared me straight. It was a dumb kid thing to do, lifting a candy bar, which I think is partly why the owner didn't call the cops. But it scared me so much; the sudden reality that I could be arrested even at that age. And I'm thankful for that; sometimes you just need a reality check to kick you into walking the straight and narrow. Thankful to all the good and decent officers out there for upholding the law. And wishing they didn't have to deal with the stupidity of some people.

The second case was a pure example of why the Justice system is a joke. He was convicted in 2017 of sexual crimes just to be released less than 7 years later and he’s doing it again. No reason why he shouldn’t have been in prison for 20 years on the first charges

It's infuriating to see someone fleeing cops, only to then turn around and say "I didn't do anything!", only because they realize the cop is keeping up with them and their attempt to flee isn't gonna work. If you're gonna try being a criminal on the run, at least have the guts to follow through. If you're innocent, fleeing makes you look guilty, and by law it does make you now guilty of the crime of fleeing an officer, even if you were totally innocent of what you were initially suspected of. Remove the cop from the situation to remove bias; if you were a kid standing there on the playground, and some other kid came up and said "Hey! You stole my ice cream!" would you...just take off running without a word? Or would you stay and say "No, I didn't." Fleeing will 100% cause the kid to give chase and think you're an ice cream thief, and when the teacher gets involved other kids will give testimony that you ran and therefore probably did it. Fleeing a cop makes things worse for everybody involved; the cop thinks you're a crook on the run and will need to stop you by force, and you'll end up with a crime on your record and maybe some unfortunate and otherwise avoidable bruises from getting tackled. Stay and explain yourself, and fight it in court if it escalates. That is, if you're not actually guilty of the crime and have numerous arrest warrants to your name, like the people in these videos. In which case you probably should rethink your life.
