Something I've learned with working with really talented people is...most general people are just numb to the magic of authentically performed music these days, they have short attention spans, they hear produced music everywhere all the time, and it's like "oh he's playing guitar, that's nice, anyway what was I talking about..." They are used to the idea that, as Radiohead would say, "anyone can play guitar," and it just washes over them. They may also not have the technical understanding of just how involved and impressive this level of tech-wrangling is as a solo live musician. This guy is fucking legit and they are witnessing years of dedication and practice and obsession. I go through it myself as an artist, I feel so proud to have mastered something and everyone else just hears "Yeah cool man sounds like music, anyway..."

That was absolutely phenomenal. I've tried to imagine how one could build this up as a live loop, and recording Ed's vocals in the beginning is an excellent touch. I don't even think it's possible to transition to the coda without stopping the song dead in its tracks, so how you worked your way into that solo and that extended outro is probably about as good as it's going to get.
@mrokandthelastlight
Жыл бұрын
Thanks much! 🤙🏽 I've done a version where I work in the changes harmonies to the outro but imo it takes a little bit of the drive away so I just push into the chaos a little more and transition the ending lyrics at some point.
