When Sea World Killer Whales Hunt Birds

A Killer Whale at Sea World in San Diego tries to lure birds closer to him with fish or fish parts. The birds seem wary and don't take the bait. Two years ago they attacked and killed a pelican during the "Believe" show - • Shamu attacks and kill... . Don't mess with Shamu.

    The sheer intelligence of these orcas is honestly astounding. Leaving a fish for bait, moving away to make the bird feel safer with the distance so it would get the fish, jumping onto the platform to try and catch the bird. And yet, they are stuck in captivity. How cruel.

  • @spooks7548

    @spooks7548

    Orcas are our ocean counterparts, which is why they act like rabid animals in captivity. Captivity also shortens their lifespan by about 60 years. We are both apex predators, warm blooded and mammals. We both learn that incest is taboo, which is why only captive orcas commit incest. Captive female orcas who give birth too young have been known to reject their babies, which is eerily similar to how female humans (teens to early 20s) have a tendency to commit infanticide/abandon their baby if they feel too young or prepared to handle a baby. Orcas have languages, which is why they don't know how to communicate when they are put in tanks with unknown orcas. Both human and orcas kill for sport. The list goes on. Honestly, the only difference between us is that orcas are matriarchal and don't have our bodies. Orcas can't live in captivity because they are so like humans. Orca captivity is literally equivalent to human trafficking.

    That is some remarkable intelligence. You'd never think a whale would part from a fish for a meal, but he's using fish as bait to attract a bigger meal. He actually set a trap. When the birds didn't fall for it, he attempted to soak their feathers so they'd be too heavy to fly away. When that failed, he just resorted to taking back the fish.

    It is their way of entertainment. Some studies said that Orcas either hunt to get food or when they are just bored. That is why in the wild they are torturing seals before eating because they are just having fun. Captivity makes them so bored just swimming in circles. That is the cause of some Orcas in captivity attacking humans which is for them just "having fun".

    I went to the Sea World in Orlando around 2000 and I watched a lone 1200+ pound Polar Bear walk side to side in his indoor enclosure for over an hour. The enclosure was about 50 feet wide and 100 feet deep with a small pool in front up by the glass so ppl could watch him swim. He placed and placed and placed and paced. This poor bear walks 20+ mile in a day in the wild. It was beyond cruel. I would never spend a penny at a Sea World Torture Factory or any type of of place that makes money off the suffering of animals.
