Strongman lends itself to the friendly rivalry. Most of the popular sports are team sports and they involve physical contact. In a lot of niche individual sports, the top guys have relationships with other top competitors. I think the way the events bring guys together for meals and prep for events helps them develop the relationships that they then extend to training with each other on occasion.

@@alexarnold3251 Well, from scientific standpoint these kind of dips are extremely injury-facient. First they're heavy on rotator cuffs since it's placed in mechanically disadvantageous position (muscle is weakest there), add poor shoulder mobility to that, which many untrained people deal with and you have a remedy for fucked up shoulders. Second are knees - I've seen dumbasses who add like 5 20kg plates on their thighs while doing half reps. The horizontal forces press on the knee joint in closed kinematic chain which lead to for example acl injuries. So yeah, this exercise is fucked up, but in that guy's case may not be as bad.

I think he thought because JF was leaning forward with the shield that he was falling, but JF was WELL in control of the shield, he was shifting his weight forward so he don't drop the shield on his feet but the dude threw the pad and made him fall forward with it. Good way to get an athlete severely hurt, especially carrying 180kg(396.8lbs) on their chest with their hands behind the shield. Easily a broken finger if not worse, God forbig JF smashes his head on the damn shield. That kinda pissed me off, not gonna lie. Also making the Yolk only 300kg(661.3lbs) was just stupid, it's not even strongman anymore at that point. Someone needs to start a gofundme for Mateusz to get stem cell therapy for his bicep. It's so frustrating to see someone so young, with so much potential get injured like that.

So glad it ended that way and the Brothers finishing on the podium just put the icing on the cake. Keep up the great work and try to enjoy the rest of the trip guys.

Class class class content. I watched the live stream, but without doubt the uploads from the various athletes videographers is what has made this event so much better. Matouche is so humble in victory...so deserved! But the Stoltman's 2nd & 3rd place finish was just the best...FREEDOOOOMMMM!
