Judging from how he and team Licis have been interacting in these last few videos, I'd say that Mateusz flipping off Romark is a sign that he's becoming more relaxed and friendly with him lol. Kinda like how real friends insult each other while acquaintances usually just try to be polite.

Fair play to Thor though. Injured and still managed a podium finish. Be interesting to see how he responds.

Dalibor Okoro Shaw went over what went wrong with his grip i believe sweat got into his palm through all that chalk and then one hand slipped, the other went with it, and he dropped it. However I believe martins woulda won without that happening as well. Love both of them, wish the climates during the competition weren’t all tropical and rainy. It would make them do a lot better.

@@imemoria8144 I disagree. Brian's like any of the strongmen. He gets along with everyone. This year he got frustrated because of his little mistakes like letting any moisture get through on the deadlift hold and struggling with the loading race. He's done plenty of collaborating with guys like Caron and the other Americans (Oberst, Best) as well as his stuff with Eddie. This video doesn't paint him in a good light, but he's the first to say that he wasn't happy with himself this year's event.

Before Romark said he’s become the hokage, was just thinking Martins is like one of those main anime characters, like Luffy. He hasn’t got the strongest/most conventional team compared to maybe Brian or Thor, but Lindsey and Romark definitely have more heart and passion than anyone else. Odd is like the old legend character who trains Martins. And then because of his personality he attracts/unites rivals and others to support him. Maybe I’ve been watching to much anime haha CONGRATS MARTINS!!

Mateusz came second only because team licis messed up with his head during the whole tournament. It’s a psychological warfare. Edit: That was meant to be a joke. Congratulations: I had been watching your story through another channel. I recently updated to a new channel and looked you up. I observed firsthand how dedicated and focused you were in your approach to this. Job well done.

I knew the first time I saw Martins that he had a quality that you can't quantify. The *it* factor. It's like when you see someone and know they are destined to do great things. It's been an amazing journey going from finding this channel several months ago, all the way till now: Tearing up a bit when I watched him win. Congratulations Martins! Romark! Lindsey! Odd! and the entire Training Hall crew. Let's do it again in 2020. (Hopefully not in sand and scorching temps...) Also, special thanks to Romark for going around and talking with all the other WSM competitors. It really shows that the strongman community is one big family. TV doesn't show this because they want there to be 'drama' for the viewer, but for most of the real fans it's awesome to see everyone cheering each other on and getting along. That's how life should be.

I was there in the crowd with the All Might x Martins poster that I made. I was actually in tears when I saw you finish the stones. It was so surreal being such a huge fan and coming to see world's strongest man in person for the first time and seeing you win!

Cool how they put the Stoltmans against each other in the grip hold event.

dem baltic boys are craaazy strong. here's a list of podium finishers of prestigious competitions/world record holders/WSM finalists from baltic countries. latvians: martins licis, raimonds bergmanis, dainis zageris, aivars smaukstelis, raivis vidzis, agris kazelniks lithuanians: zydrunas savickas, vytautas lalas, vidas blekaitis, marius lalas estonians: andrus murumets, rauno heinla, lauri nämi, tarmo mitt a total of 14 internationally high level strongmen from countries with very low populations. 1.3 million in estonia, 1.9 in latvia and 2.8 in lithuania. the total population of all these countries is over 2 times less than TOKYO. sick genetics bro

@@michaumiszcz yes, mariusz is amazing, but poland isn't a baltic country despite being next to the baltic sea. some smart guy answered this problem pretty well here: www.quora.com/Why-isnt-Poland-considered-a-Baltic-State but poland has produced some absolutely amazing strength athletes. there's of course mariusz pudzianowski, but also jarek dymek, krzysztof radzikowski, mateusz kieliszkowski, sebastian wenta, robert szczepanski, grzegorz szymanski, rafal kobylarz, sebastian kurek, mateusz baron and mateusz ostaszewski. all have competed on a veeery high level... but poland has a population of 38.4 million, which makes it a pretty big country.

What I love about this is that Martins seems genuine, and that the people around him honestly wanted him to win. Seeing Thor so happy for him, seeing Odd with an enormous smile on his face, etc. was awesome. Grats, Martins.

One of the most humblest strongman i have ever seen not only did he complete the event but also encouraged his oppent to finish now thats sportsmanship congrats on your win and keep doing you well done.

Pretty sure if your fan and buy a ticket you can boo or cheer whoever you want.. It's part of the game and it's supposed to be fun.. Now if somebody got injured and they booed I'd be pissed.. But that aint the case

Martins chalked halfway up his forearms. Not sure if anyone else did that but it was smart as hell. Keep at the excess sweat from his arms from beading up and getting into his hands.

I think I first saw him on Larry wheels channel when Larry was just getting into strongmen, I think it may have been the flipping tires video, I can’t remember
