Not random dates, but related to the sun, e.g. on 21. of June is the longest day of the year (usually also celebrated with a festival with huge fires) and 21. of December the shortest. In the west we also use the 1st days of those months, but that's called the Meteorological Winter, spring etc. the 21st is the Astronomical. I think it makes more sense to use the meteorological seasons because in most countries, early december definitely feels like winter, not autumn.

I'm a born-and-raised New Englander who lived in KY (Louisville) for 17 years, and let me tell you, the Autumn leaves in that city were just as beautiful as those up here in NE. My fondest Fall memories are strolling around Old Louisville during the St. James Art Fair, which is held in October. I lived in that neighborhood for about 9 years, and I remember both the unseasonably warm years eating ice cream, and chilly ones where I'd be bundled up and sipping a Heine Brothers coffee.

Hi Natasha. Yes tires are very hard to get rid of as waste. You don't want to burn them and they fill up landfills. The use of them for a retaining wall is clever and a good use. I used to live in an area like this. I lived in a camper next to a building that I kept for working on cars and other things. It was next to a recycle (junk) yard. The place was full of interesting characters that were kind of a big family. I even showered in an old Boiler one of the guys had set up at one time. Those were some crazy days. I love that you are comfortable wandering around there. If more people were like that the world would be better. I tend to love all things pumpkin, especially pumpkin ice cream.

In Canada and the rest of the northern hemisphere, the first day of the autumn season is the day of the year when the Sun crosses the celestial equator moving southward (on September 22nd or 23rd). This day is known as the Autumnal Equinox. The first day of the winter season is the day of the year when the Sun is farthest south (on December 21st or 22nd). This day is known as the Winter Solstice. The first day of the spring season is the day of the year when the Sun crosses the celestial equator moving northward (on March 20th or 21st). This day is known as the Vernal Equinox. And the first day of the summer season is the day of the year when the Sun is farthest north (on June 21st or 22nd). 1500th time: great to see you and your friends being happy. You all made me happy, too! About the seasons: I live in Finland and as a kid I was taught them like you in Russia: the autumn begins in the first of August and the winter in the first of December. Maybe it is because Finland was a part of Russia until 1917/1918. Finland is far further to the north than Georgia or the most of tensely populated areas of Russia. Right now it is dark, dark , a bit of pale grayness and then dark again. Think about St. Petersburg or Petrozavodsk. Due to the warmth of the Gulf Stream, the temperatures in the southern parts of the country are around 0 degrees C.

Spring begins on September the first (hail rain or shine). Also. Australia has zero Halloween because of its short history. Nice to see you, Dari and Zack back together again! A reminder that although friends can go their own separate ways in their paths through life, they meet again down the road and like autumn itself, there’s a poignant and bittersweet quality to a reunion. I was born in the autumn in the same month as Putin and my favorite thing about it isn’t the change of the seasons, its Thanksgiving. Nothing brings it home to me quite like an overloaded meal of turkey with cranberry sauce, stuffing and candied yams which wouldn’t be complete without its signature dessert, a slice of pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top! Sure, its a North American extravagance but autumn isn’t the same without a holiday meal to be thankful for all the blessings one has had all year and will encounter again in the future.

The colours, textures and expanse you choose to highlight your surroundings induces a peaceful feeling in me; collecting feelings, similar to collecting souvenirs, but in your case it's more of a scavenge hunt. It's like watching moving pictures, a live travel magazine, a low budget location doco. Good to see you back in your element.

Regarding Autumn, I think of the orange and yellow leaves and the sense of beauty I associate with that time of year. On the slightly negative side, it's a time when it's getting darker and I have to adapt to that. Once it's January, light is increasing and I feel like we're on the path back to summer again, which feels more positive. Congratulations on getting free and being in a good place. I love those views of the city from high up in the hills.

When I was a kid my whole family would go hunting of 'big game' like deer and bear, and 'small game' like squirrels, rabbits, pheasants, or ducks, yes my mom , too.
