I don't know, but maybe @i-3307 meant raconteur in the old fashioned, French sense, which didn't specify that the story had to be factual. It would then be an unusual combination of words, but not tautological.

That’s one of the best cricket stories I’ve heard. So funny.

the yarns this bloke told commentating bbl a little while back was priceless. English version of skuller. I remember the oz crowd giving him so much in the outfield, looked like he'd cry. Shame cos he's a top bloke with cracking yards. Oz loves your yarns tuffers!!!

At best, Merv Hughes was fast-medium. I can understand exaggerating in the interests of a good story but that's a bit over the top.

Australia have some talented cricket players. I know about cricket. I support the Scotland cricket side. I would love Scotland to win more cricket trophies.

That's right. Tuffers toured Aus twice, 90/91 and 94/95. Harold Bird didn't officiate in either of the tests he played in at Perth. Great story though and a great bloke
