When is a Character Out of Character? Thomas Topics
The phrase "Out of character" gets tossed around a lot. What makes a character who they are? When do their actions or words go against who they are? Sadly Thomas & Firends isn't spared from such flounderasations.

As an Australian I have no shame in saying: Spread this video around like bush fire!
I just assumed Thomas was meant to have the mentality of a teenager , he can be smart sometimes be still has a lot to learn
I can't believe that HiT thinks that "when someone's old, they're a pathetic and weak loser"
Let's not forget that Skarloey and Rheneas went from old wise Engines, into acting like 3 year olds during the HIT era.
As bad as BWBA was, at least it didn’t have Edward and Henry behaving out of character in the little screen time that they had.

People often say giving Edward flaws doesn't work. Well, what about Edward's Day Out, Cows and Bertie's Chase? That was only a small amount that doesn't make him out of character. Him being impatient, he wasn't as fast and thus his branch line trains needed to be on time (TheBuriedTruck even made a story during his James saga). Not saying it should still be one of his main traits cause I know it would make him out of character even more, but maybe something along the line of his own limitations like in Homeless Engines for example.
I remember well when Emily was a new character in the series and she was the most popular character among male fans, mostly because of her beautiful face and beautiful shape, which made the male fans anxious for future Emily episodes, especially Emily's Adventure , because she could get into trouble with Sir Topham Hat and/or get into an accident, which would make the male fan see Emily as imperfect, and then both happened in the same episode, in Emily's New Route. 99% of Emily admirers didn't count the accident as an accident, which is why Emily's first accident in the series wasn't noted as Notes/Trivia in the TV Tome for quite some time. I also remember in season 8 where Emily suddenly became a ruthless engine, as many saw it, which many fans were not happy about. Later, when Duck, created by Rev W. Awdry, proved very rare, because Emily was the temporary eighth engine, causing many Emily admirers to become Emily haters.
Why wasn’t Edward sent to the great railway show instead of Henry? He would have won.
Me: Oh SHUT UP GORDON! (throws explosive at Gordon)
The New series/The hit era was weird time for Edward. S8 was the only time where did a good job with Edward. But S9-S12 did him dirty.
I love the flags, I think Emily gets carry away by being the boss. Like she does care but her weakness would be to take charge. Also I do believe she was out of character in Thomas, Emily and the snowplow. As for Edward, he was totally OUT of character not doubt about! AS WELL AS FOR THOMAS, SKARLOEY, HENRY & TOBY. And it was all thanks to for the Thomas and friends Bible, which I agree with you of why is it called a BIBLE!? Great video, dude.
Emily: S7: Good girl. 😊💚
Emily Knows Best more like Emily Knows how to be a dictator.

I loved the gags in this.

My Headcanon On Why Thomas Is Incosistent: He's Like A Child Who Is Heavily Affected By Environments Created By His Friends. If He's With Edward Too Long He'll Get Bit Of Edward's Personality Traits and If He's With Percy Too Long His Brain Starts To Shrink
Ngl i dont think Emily was rlly out of character because unlike Edward she got 1 real season which isnt enough to develop a character but when you have 5 like edward it really tells us his character
I've always pictured Emily as an engine who is nice and kind, but if you find a way to piss her off she becomes hard-headed, stubborn, and sometimes just outright vile.
