Motion to compel -- then sanctions and hopefully a bench verdict because the judge sees what a disgrace the defendant has repeatedly disrespected the legal system. Keep u posted. Takes time

Cool , I live near Lake Seneca. I currently have a lawsuit against Geneva hospital. I went into ER with severe chest pain. Dr told us my EKG was fine,.. turns out I had STEMI and didn’t get treated till 5 hrs later resulting in severe heart damage, I am now disabled.

Straight to the point...very good description of what to EXPECT>>>?? I caught an infection from a headset while training to be a flight instructor for a (Berkshire Hathaway owned) company. I didn't want to sue them BUT they treated me LIKE SHIT...so I hired a lawyer in Georgia and will give it a go....

This was really informative. My lawyers sent me a question and answer from the defendants and also a questionaire asking about lost wages and medical treatment. I’m assuming the defendants are getting ready to settle. I never really ask my lawyer questions I just go with the flow.

If there is a good chance for punitive damages (NY) wouldn't it be best to ask for a jury, not a bench trial and include a structured settlement?

Im going for krogers cap offs , as Im screwed up for life because of a pot hole. I believe its five mill? Do you lnow what these stores carry for thier insurance? Had major surgery etc.

Sorry to hear that. Usually supermarkets will have $1 million with umbrella beyond that. Its important for the lawyer to request all the available coverage in discovery and have the defendants' fully respond. If they don't then your lawyer can get a court order compelling the insurance info

how much my injury cost with 4 front tooth injury, nasal bone fracture, lip laceration and some wounds and bruises

If the defendant is 100% at fault I would say it can be worth $50k to over $100k depending on how serious the fracture is and what is the tooth injury. Also the city the case is in may play a role. Feel free to reach out if you need a consultation (347)566-9595

@@AttorneyArkady the driver is at fault, the dentist perform root canal on 4 of them and then dental crown, my nose fracture is on cartillage and the doctor said it dont need to be operated, do you think how much can i get as settlement?

does the lawyer get to just keep all the money after he gets paid like 3 weeks ago now won't return phone calls

No. The lawyer should pay the client 2/3rd of the amount received.

Could *initiating* a settlement conference be a sign of weakness or *intimidation* on any side of the parties?

Usually they are court ordered. In New York parties cannot initiate settlement conferences. Only mediation. I don’t think it’s usually a sign of weakness unless one side keeps calling the other begging lol

@@notarant5107 mediation is voluntary usually although there is court mediation. Usually the parities agree to go to mediation and pay a mediator like a retired judge an hourly rate of approx $500/hr total is $1k-$2k+. Mediations are non-binding. Settlement conferences are usually quicker - try to settle see what other side offers and then it gets adjourned. Settlement conferences are usually a type of court conference like compliance or pre trial that the court schedules although sometimes a party can request one depending on the court rules. I’ll do a video about this. Good topic :)

There's something fishy about this video haha.. all jokes aside it is very hard to tell when a case will settle. There are just too many variables that go into it especially if you have a serious injury. Just be patient and do everything you're supposed to do for the case.
