WHEN CLIENT SAYS YOUR PRICES ARE TOO HIGH (HOW TO RESPOND)

If you’re sick of being told you’re charging too much or getting rejected by clients, today’s episode is a MUST WATCH! In this video I’m sharing my full breakdown on how to properly price your offer and how to handle this objection like a BOSS! If you want to hire me to accelerate your online business, apply for The Authority Accelerator, here: sunnylenarduzzi.com/the_autho...
"Your price is too high." How many times have you heard that? It's a very common and probably the most common response that you get from somebody who feels like they're not ready to invest in what you're offering, regardless of what that is. I teach this inside of my program, the Authority Accelerator, and I wanted to do a really deep dive training on this for you, because there are only three responses I've found in speaking to thousands of people over the last couple of years in building my business to this question. They may surprise you.

NOTE: I have not yet watched your video, I'm just answer the question. Of course I have heard this before. I've actually said it before. Just one thing to note: if your prices are too high for someone, then that individual is either not in a financial place to afford your services or that individual is not someone you want to take on as a client. If it's the former, don't tell them that they can't afford to not buy your services. It's very rude to say that to people that may end up homeless and going without food if they pay for your services. Very rude! If it's the latter, that person is toxic and you don't need them in your circle. Don't think you will be able to change their mind. They will do you more harm than any good you can do for them. I had people tell me: "You're not supposed to be trying to make money, your supposed to just do it for Jesus." Their toxicity caused failure, not the success they claimed to join the team for and wanted. My current policy with such individuals is to disassociate myself from them immediately and do not bother to try and convince them that your services are worth the fee you are charging. In fact, I may decide to make a point of doubling my fees just for them. Just a quick question: Has the individual payed for your services? If not, then the individual is not your client and should not be addressed as such.

So many years of people undermining my pricing. I'm in a pretty specialized business and still, for years, I had clients feel like they could cross this boundary. I even had one client who had the fortitude to tell me what he would pay for certain items. Needless to say, I promptly ended that relationship. It's not easy though. When you consider overhead costs and everything involved it is hard to turn away business but, it is 100% worth it in the long-term. I stopped thinking that everyone that walked in my studio was a 'drop-in-the-bucket' to make the rent and focused on working with people who respect what I can do for them and understand that my skill comes at a non-negotiable cost. I mean, I can't walk into a Starbucks and say that I'm only going to pay $1 for my Venti coffee so why should anyone be able to do that to me, right?

This is amazing and the summary of what we have learned in the last two years since starting our business- having the power to walk away is such a blessing! We too scrambled at first and were desperate- which led to some challenging clients and stress (which we are still grateful for - it was a learning opportunity). Now we know how long things will take and what it’s worth and can charge three times as much, because it’s what we should have done from the start! And just like you mentioned - we know have clients that seek us out and don’t ever question price. Thanks for all the value you add to our lives and business! 😘💕❤️

“If you are not committed to making this work” Great advice! I recently worked with a family member doing SMM for him and his business. He wasn’t committed and I realized after he is the client that I would want to stay away from. He wasn’t willing to do or get me what I needed to make him successful. We had success, but could have had MUCH more if he had been committed. Great video!

This is 100% correct. Take note everyone! The moment you discount your worth, you open the doors to allow people to disrespect you, and not value what you do! You get boxed in as a commodity, which is bad positioning! You want to differentiate and specialize your services in such a way that you aren’t treated as a commodity.

A number of entrepreneurs don't have income protection contracts in place. I ran into a health issue shortly after going solo and didn't have to use any of my own money on housing, bills and car payment while recovering because of my contract. There is also an overhead expense contract, which could even pay overhead on your business location. One of my client's annual premium for $1k/mo for a year on her location was just $340.00 (she's a hairstylist). This can be part of that "runway". I paid $42/mo which gave me enough to cover housing and expenses. Obtaining income protection contracts can be very cost effective and provides a shield of protection. This keeps you from having to borrow from family/friends and can keep you independent.

Trust me when I say, good pricing (the kind you can feel confident with!) means looking at so many angles. It’s not just about picking a number that excites you. It’s about being a smart business person. (I did a vid on this topic a few months ago too!) Love your strategies Sunny!

Thanks for making this video Sunny! I'll have to watch this a few times because there were so many gems you went over here. I hear this quite a bit (and now that I think about it, I see where this has been used on me to sign me up for coaching/marketing programs lol). I need to value what I'm doing even more and get more confident.

One of the worst client I had was a free shoot a good year ago. Shoot was free/collaboration shoot so I could build my portfolio. She was a full one hour late! Didn't share my work nor tagged me and came back to me a year later complaining that she no longer finds the pictures. She thought if I send a Google drive link it will be on her Google from that on. Even tried to ask me to contact Google... Fast forward to this morning. Got a request for a collaboration free shoot by an influencer. Told her about my prices and recommended her some other photographers who might do TFP. Than she asked for a discount. And this is the critical bit! I didn't give her a discount from a 2 hour shoot but offered her an extra hour for free. She is very happy now and we both look forward to the shoot!

Thank you so much for this business. Being a Mobile Auto Detailer I run across this all the time. Admittedly at first I fell trap to sacrificing my price to gain clientele. However after being burned more than once. I have now started putting my foot down. In many cases it pays off big time. I had a customer tell me they could get it cheaper somewhere else. I now have them booked to fix what the other guy messed up and they are paying full price for it as well.

Thanks for this Sunny. this used to be something i would absolutely fear on a sales call but it was because i simply didn't know how to react. With my business in fashion It would surprise me because if someone says they cant afford i then i struggle to understand how they expect to pay for the needs of a fashion business that requires a lot of upfront costs. It used to baffle me, annoy and frustrate me. (ANY OTHER FASHION BIZ COACHES HERE LET ME KNOW IF THAT IS YOU TOO!) After continuous calls i realised the same answers would come up. I then decided to change my sign up form to reduce these responses so they had to cancel that out on the form or even not sign up if the form showed them that they were not eligible. But thanks your video is uber useful for one of the struggles in business.

I used to have my compassion pimped as a Healer, time and time again my services were undervalued because I didn't value me. Once I figured out that it all starts from within, I made sure to stay working on myself first thing daily. Kept my rituals sacred and slowly but surely my perspective and vibrations shifted me into a better Energy field
