We bought a Kodiak 10x14 vx and we loveeeee it. So much space for our cots and table and chairs. Great tents...I like the plastic smell reminds me to dolls. Lol

Remember to season the tent! That is, the first time you set it up, thoroughly hose it down (especially on the seams) both outside and inside and let it dry. This allows all the cotton fibers to expand and seal potential small gaps preventing water leaks in the future.

There have been other videos who indicate that the front canopy rolled up will leak water into the tent. My thoughts are if you roll it up in reverse the water will roll off the top and not collect inside the roll solving the water leak problem.

Correct. He rolled it up the wrong way, according to other Kodiak owners. This way the rain won't collect. That was one flaw in an otherwise extremely helpful presentation.

Love the "Made in China" markings on the box.

I have the same exact tent and I love it I camped so many times in all kinds of weather purring rain and high winds and the tent performed flolassley not one drop of water getting in, my only recommendation is I wish Kodiak would include an option of putting in a stove jack for wood burning stove, I was planning on putting a stove jack in myself but I just don't have the courage of cutting a hole in the roof of the tent so I bought another tent with a stove jack built in it.

Great review Dan and excellent video work by your wife! Any update or thoughts on this tent? I’m still camping with my trustworthy Marmot Fortress, but considering a canvas tent of this size for long term and/or winter excursions. Thanks!
