What You Never Knew About The Boxer Bruce Lee Humiliated

If you like Bruce Lee stories, I've got this Bruce Lee story about people getting knocked out in some Hong Kong rooftop fights that I want to tell you.
According to Beerdy, this guy wrote him a letter claiming that he along with 6 of his kungfu students challenged Bruce Lee to a fight. Bruce Lee knocks out the teacher telling the story. His 6 students can't believe that Bruce Lee just knocked out their teacher, so they decide they are going to jump Bruce Lee.
Well, at this point stuff has hit the fan, and you know what happens when Bruce Lee gets serious -- he pulls out the Northern Praying Mantis kung fu.
This is a Bruce Lee story that is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

Bruce is the G.O.A.T we also know bruce had many fights while living in Hong Kong and some fights were on roof tops it was very common back then to fight on roof tops so they didn't get busted by the police, Bruce had a very eventful life he did more in 32 years then most people could achieve if they lived to be 100 years of age

Just a heads up Goldenbell, don't know if you've met or spoken to Sifu Steve Smith from Seattle, but he has a good amount of gems of knowledge on Bruce's uncle and mentor Fook Yeung. Fook not only gave Bruce a place to stay when he was fresh off the boat, but Fook was also an accomplished martial artist and trained Bruce in Red Boat Wing Chun (among other styles). Both Jesse Glover and Leroy Garcia met and trained with Fook a little bit too, and Jesse is on video confirming that Bruce indeed trained extensively with Fook, but kept it very low key. Sifu Steve Smith studied with both Jesse Glover and Fook Yeung.

Thank you dude. Bruce Lee is my greatest inspiration and I also did a lot of digging into his real background, trying to sort facts from legend. I found a lot of people do exaggerate his achievements, and capabilities. This however does not mean he wasn't a master at Kung Fu, he did have a lot of street brawls outside of the rings and tournaments, just cut the BS and stick to truth. That's what HE was about. Cutting through the fancy mess of MA and everything else we tend to do in life.

I know this has nothing to do with Bruce Lee,but I love telling this story. As a teen working at Safeway(anybody remember SAFEWAY???)as a bagger,I had an assistant manager who was a very good martial artis,he was soooo good his instructer said he couldn't teach him any more.Hmmm,I was curious about that claim. One day he had a party at his home just for us Safeway workers and in his home were trophies, medals, medalions, plaques for martial arts tourniments he had won.He also showed us his other collection down in his basement-it was massive. After seeing all this,I believed his statement. One day at work another assistant manager was ragging on this guy, saying he didn't believe his claims,he too fat to kick.(The guy was at least 40/50 pounds over-weight)The guy was real QUIET,wasnt saying anything to the guy belitting him.I was getting nervous. When someone is that quiet you don't know what they might do.But,he didn;t do anyhing nor say anything. So,one day I asked him how he got so good.PRACTICE.He'd train 5/6 hours daily, after school, almost everyday. But,eventually he became mentally burned out, stopped training and working out.Became fat and out of shape. He was a cool dude too.

Bruce Lee was actually first introduced to Southern Wu style Tai Chi as a child, and after that he trained in Hung Ga Kung Fu for a while. This style, along with Wing Chun, was very popular in Hong Kong, The reason being that it was practiced by the folk hero Wong Fei-hung. I think Bruce Lee only started training Wing Chun when he was 15 years old. I see that in his fights he rarely uses the vertical, direct vin chun punch that classic vin chun fighters use in long bursts.

The bizarre part of this lie is that Bruce Lee's "opponent" was named Sum Dum Gai" ("Some Dumb Guy").

4:45..No that was a clip from a rival street gang in Hong Kong when Bruce Lee fought on the roof top.Bruce style was short direct and straight forward which was the Wing Chun Kung Fu style he learned under IP.man but later the senior student William Cheung was helping to teach Bruce.I have never seen Bruce use Maintis style and later mixed Wing Chung up w western boxing and Arnis/Kali learned from Danny Inssntos along aith some Karate high kicks and grappling known as Jeet Koon Do (The way of intercepting fist) By the way the rival gang on the Hong Kong roof top were using Choy LA fut/Hung Gar a popular style then too.Kalif🥊
