Hi doctor, My baby born at 37 weeks was IUGR and failed hearing test. BERA also failed after one month. They asked to repeat bera after one more month. What can be done? Does this hearing loss improve on his own?? He is only hearing loud noises. But not below 80 is what the test says. But he does respod to sounds sometimes. Sometimes he doesn't.

My baby one month old fail oae test 3 times in both ears.. We consult an ENT doctor and ask no any infections.. Ask to Repeat oae after 2 wks.but he response when door closed sound, thunderstorms etc..I am tensed..

Done ABR test.. Have mild loss both ears.. Now he is 3.5 month old.. But have improvement.. Now respond to all Sounds.. He recognize and look us while saying his name..If this problem will be solve when he is matured.. Any chance for that? Or want hearing aids..

Sir my baby is 4month 12 days old .she doesnot look the direcetion of sound..also she doesnot respond when we call her by her name. Is there any hearing problrm?some times she startles by loud noises ,sometimes she doesnot.i am tensed please sir reply me

Sir i live in swithzerland. My son was born 5 of February that time his right ear was good but left ear is not passing and when my baby 6 weeks that time he had a fiber, coughing snd sore throat and now he feels better but two days ago they check his left ear like OAE but still not passing as well as right ear after ward they made an appointment 3 of june. Please Tell me sir what should i do now

They will do further tests like ABR and review with an audiologist. Don’t worry, the health system is good and if any treatment is needed, it will be started by 6 months

Hi Doctor, my twin one baby have failed in hearing test.. she is almost 6 month old... And she is preterm baby... Doctor advised to repeat after 3 weeks... What would be the issue pls i m really worried

Wait for the repeat test, if fails again will need audiology review to check and complete detailed assessment

Hi sir. My baby After birth billirubin level high so blood transfusion done.doctor refer hearing test. OAE test normal.but bera test report is nerve maturation delay.doctor said after 3weeks repeat bera test will be referred. I'm very scared.

I think you can wait a bit longer for maturation to progress, repeat after 2 months or 6 months of age (did they say deafness as well or only maturation delay)?

Only the report is right and left ear are neural maturational delay.

Hello sir , my baby is 6 months old .. she used to responds small sounds and when we call her he used to turn around for sound where it is coming , but last two days he is not responding to sounds .. when we did immediately for hearing test says both ear has issue … please help us what may be the issue … why this happen

Don’t worry, most of these are temporary and will improve once you treat underlying causes of glue ear, refer my earlier response

@@ramaraomandapaka9063 after 3 days we did bera one ear is completely normal hearing and other ear is severe to profound hearing loss … about slowely after 2-3 weeks my baby is responds to sounds well as before … doctor asked me take bera after 6 months
