I recently built a distortion pedal that makes a lot of the noises that seem to be getting Rob all excited with this pedal. I’ve spent days wracking my brains, trying to figure out what I did wrong and how to make it stop!

Brian Tell you what, I’ll sell you mine for the bargain price of just £200! It even has the added feature that if you dial it in just right (wrong?), it actually sounds quite nice, but it mostly just sounds broken. Buy NOW before I figure out what I did wrong and fix it! I tend to give my pedals overly long and pretentious names. This one is called “The Scent of Red Ruin Borne Upon a Mourning Breeze”.

Dude I have to say Rob I literately stumbled across your channel after just watching another video in which you went to the United States and got to shoot guns with a Bigfoot enthusiast lol. Anyhow it was a great episode that appears to be dated but you can just tell from your expressions during the video how excited you were. You have a great personality and character. Respect ✊ B.C. I want to like it but, I had a Marshall jcm100 that sounded like this. Turns out mold was growing inside the volume potentiometer and a very loose speaker wire. Back to normal in 30 min.

Haha the octaves don't always sound so random, if you grab different guitar and switch to the neck pickup, the octaves actually track with the note you are playing and it sounds way different (more normalish). The gating still happens and it sounds lofi/ velcro, but you can get more of an octave fuzz vibe instead of the ping ponging weirdness going on with a single pickup that is close to the bridge

Broken speaker distortion is underrated. I put a 1/4 inch lead through a fender combo speaker because you shouldn't work on guitars and amps while drunk. Thought I ruined it,but i made it better.

I was excited to see him try this, but bummed out there was zero mention of TMR or Jack White. I don't think Rob's a fan. But damn impressed by the pedal and glad you dig mate. Cheers 🍻

I remember Rabea's video on this. Pretty awesome sounds, just not sure how much use it would get after the novelty value wears off.

Listen to Jack White. He uses these kinds of sounds a lot. This kind of sounds like it does the POG / Wooly Mammoth tone he uses a lot for solos.

There was another version of the paddle with blue plasma. This is basically the rebranded/improved version by thirdman records.

Every utuber charges for demos. That’s how they make money. I’m assuming this video is paid for by the pedal company.

Question, so you mail these people with the question whether you can try a pedal. Do they give you the pedal for free? do you have to send it back. Are you allowed to sell it? How big should your channel be, I've seen some small channels do this type of videos as well but I always wonder about the conditions with these things

Man I really wanna get one of these. Jack White oversaw everything in the production of this pedal and in general he's like my music icon. This pedal is definetly amazing it's just so damn expensive. I'll eventually get one tho. If I were Rob, I'd just like, not give it back to them 😂😂😂

I lreally like it..it has a more "secure" break up in sound. if that makes sense?..it is not so unsettling of a breakup of sound, as say, a fuzz pedal. Rob do you still have the ESP T-style with scalloped frets? would you sell it?

This video made me want to buy that pedal... the $350 price tag made me question it...

I would very much like to combine my love of guitars and high voltage electronics to modify one of these in all manner of dirty, dirty ways and see how much more insane it can be, should you be silly enough to do it

I had an old Vox Tonelab that sounded like that if you selected a preset that hadn’t been configured yet. The novelty wears off after five minutes.

I own the Plasma Pedal and I assure you in real life it sounds amazing. I use it to blend with other tracks to create some nasty grinding tone that has focus.

This is not a pedal for a guitar that doesn’t have a neck pickup and tone knob! It needs to be treated like a octifuzz and played on the neck with the tone rolled off. I love this pedal, but it can sound loads better!

I know I will get a TON of hate for this, and lets keep in mind, each of us have our own preferences in sound, etc, but for ME PERSONALLY, I don't get why people get all excited for Fuzz pedals, or things like this. I can't stand Fuzz distortion. There are a couple that I have heard that are ok at certain levels (the "fuzz" type sound of the JHS PG-14 for example when he and Paul Gilbert demo'd it in the Sweetwater video), but I just can't do Fuzz pedals. There is nothing wrong with those that like it, I am not saying that at all, as I said, to each their own, I just don't get it.

Or you could just be Jack White and use it as your clean tone.

If I bought one and it sounded like that I'd return it. Just sounds broken.

I first seen it 1 or 2 years ago. I thought it's an interesting gimmick that sounds horrible. Since then I have seen many videos and everyone who played loved it, but still it sounds like crap. I can imagine it's fun, but not $$300 fun for sure.

Sounds tolerable for lead stuff but the chugging sounds like mud shit.
