Not sure i would leave it on all the time but some of those riffs sounded absolutely amazing
Too cool Ray! I just got the original GameChanger Plasma Pedal two days ago off Reverb. Been having tons of fun with it too. It's not got the many selection settings like the Plasma Coil but it's still super interesting and super fun. I do however have the Triplegraph Pedal to put it into the effects loop of that pedal to make it even more interesting. The trick IS the Reverb as you already know! It's like a fuzz pedal and monumental electric distortion all in one. It takes no prisoners and it doesn't make excuses, it just delivers pure raw sound for you! It's just f'n delicious in every sense of the word! The voicing with the high and low freq knobs is AMAZING!
Type o negative vibes here.. nice and different from your usual demos. Cool pedal broskie!
I remember those pedals!!! I thought they were the coolest thing with the light reflecting the playing lol 🤘🔥🔥🤘
That pedal’s otherworldly… love the demo… keep ‘er goin’, Ray!
I've had the plasma pedal for a year and half now absolutely love it! !! Is it more money , yes. But you get what you pay for!!!
The art in this petal reminds me of project 86’s cover for their newest album
Alright, you're killing me with this Limp Bizkit references 🤣
I don't think it's considered a "sponsored" video by definition, but it's considered a paid promotion. It would be nice if Walmart took distortion pedals as payment for groceries.

In this instance it’s actually both. Even if they don’t give you money, they’re providing the resource to make the video (I.e. the pedal) and Xan can keep the pedal basically as payment. It’s kind of the best of both worlds.

@@withinthrall1445 Yeah, I'm pretty sure it counts with digital goods as well. It's wild how many creators, especially in the guitar world, aren't transparent about their videos being paid promotions.

If I may chime in here, I hope you don’t mind my correcting you guys. I have a lot of experience in this area. For nearly 26 years, I’ve been a voluntary beta tester and reviewer for all sorts of consumer tech hardware/software (computer peripherals, audio gear like speakers and headphones, mobile photography gear, etc.), household products, food, beauty and health items, pet products, etc. Whete reviews are concerned, I occasionally post to my own social media, but I mostly give the feedback and impressions to each brand or market research company to use as they see fit. Where I post my own content, market research companies and brands are always very clear about how to legally post/promote so product testers and the brand itself won’t get into legal trouble. (All of the following info does not apply to pre-production and pre-released alpha/beta testing scenarios because NDA’s issued by a brand are signed - we would not be allowed to disclose anything in any manner in most of those cases.) Here’s the deal where your q is concerned: A “sponsorship” and “paid promotion” are different ways for saying the same exact thing. By definition, no matter which term is used, money (ie: something with cash value including gift cards, store credit, special discounts, etc.) is given to the reviewer regardless of whether they get to keep the product or not. Situations where a brand gives someone a pre-production or production product to keep is considered a sample. This includes anything that is free - gear, digital content, mustard packets (yum!), etc. In the US, the law states that anyone (even if you’re not an official content creator) who posts any type of review, unboxing, product info, a mere feature (like a photo without any captions), etc. must disclose that a free sample was given by the company, shop, or whomever the source was. This is legally required so people can decide for themselves whether the info being presented is genuine and not swayed in any manner - like the brand scripting the person’s posts or the act of receiving the product making the content creator provide opinions through rose colored glasses just because they got a freebie. The law says the way to disclose a free sample is to state it verbally, within a video, and/or in a description. It must be said specifically and/or relevant hashtags must be used (ie: #freesample #freebie #brandfreebie #freestuff, etc.). I wish content creators would learn more about these laws - both locally and internationally. I always worry that some great guitar content creators will get into major trouble for incorrectly wording how they were compensated , if at all. It’s obviously worse when nothing is disclosed, but saying you had a sponsorship when nothing of monetary value was provided beyond a sample not only is confusing and gives viewers the wrong impression, but it can lead to legal issues depending how long the channel has been posting inaccurate info. I’ve heard of people getting contacted by government agencies both in the US and UK about such matters for other types of product demos/reviews like beauty products, kitchen wares, etc. It’s a matter of time before guitar KZreadrs start hearing from them too. Usually it’s a warning the first time. Just to be clear, I know most guitar KZreadrs are not doing this intentionally. I like that Xander tried to make it clear that he was not paid and was given a free pedal to keep - but it would help if some guitar KZreadrs would get together to learn about these laws and then educate the viewing community. They could even create a rating system that all guitar KZreadrs could voluntarily adopt so it’s super clear across the board whether someone got paid, just a sample, whether the content is scripted by a brand, who provided the payment and/or samples, etc. Having a rating system like this would help guitar content creators adhere to local and international laws, eliminate questions about compensation (or lack thereof) by viewers. I could see Phil McKnight being a great person to help devise a rating system for the guitar community gear unboxings, reviews, and demos. I might even suggest it to him. 👍🏻 😊 Anyway, I hope this helps you both understand the difference between being sponsored/paid promo vs getting a free sample. Sorry this is so long, but maybe it would help some folks understand how it works a bit more clearly. All Xander would have to say in this case is that he was given a free product sample, state whether his opinions are all his own, inbox with the famous pink scissors ✂️, and let the review and demo rip! 🤘🏻🎸🔊🎶

@@MashaT22 Thanks for clearing that up. I've only ever read the youtube TOS on what entails whether the video "Includes a paid promotion" and they seem to give slightly different definitions.
Those high notes sounds phenomenal fuuuuuuuuuuuccccckkkkk

they do huh!
Congrats on the sponsorship. It's such a rad pedal design wise. I have the og plasma pedal and love it with my synths and bass. The octave aspect in this one makes this a step above but not worth the upgrade for me personally. The sound really is unique, distinct. Iron horse is my go to distortion for guitar
++1 for Parkway Drive riffing! 🤘
Brought out the Clapton! And parkway. Keep shredding brother!
Nice to see the JR Strat back on the channel! I understood why you wanted to get out of the box of being “the slipknot guy,” and you def have! Nice to see some classic SMR gear for some viewer nostalgia 🤘
I love the intro track
Thats one crazy sounding octave-fuzz kinda thing! Have you ever tried any multi effects pedals? also, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BELOVED PINK SCISSORS? I feel like its been forever.

Hearing you playing the Layla lick through this thing was a highly unexpected, but most welcome, little surprise

Same here Sam, well mine is the original one, it's a blast to play too! I use it with my JC40 chorus and it's just balls out amazing! I wish now I'd opted for this one with the extra settings but I can make do.
Sounds awesome I wonder what ot would sound like with a wah
7:48 You were wondering what song that you were playing but couldn't remember. Little Sister by Queens Of The Stone Age. Its right after 2:00 in the song..... I remember that riff you were playing and I knew right away what band it was from even though it's been forever since I listened to them. lmao
I described it to my as the sound of a dying star! /
Sounds like if Neil Young made a metal pedal
Hi Ray.can you please tell me what guitar is that?(not the JR strat) thx
Sounds knarly af dude. Random question what string gauges do you use on your 30” baritone?

Why isnt static-x embracing this pedal?
3:10 tone. Hmmm.
Man, you could make the fart pedal sound amazing - so there is that bit of bias in the pedals you demo. haha

Shush they’ll hear you! Lol
The octave features were cool but other than that, i didn't find the pedal to sound appealing at all.
It's not a metal zone.
