I started with 8 inches boots, because I knew I didn't want to buy another pair soon. I get used to them pretty quickly and I definitely recommend starting with 8". Mines are shiny and sticky, but when it comes to floorwork I always put socks on them, so it's not an issue. I really don't wanna ruin them, because they are freakishly expensieve. For beginners I recommend buying slighty used ones, because you can get them cheaper (but don't buy ones you don't like-they're your shoes, you gotta love them) ❤️

I’ve been pole dancing for almost 5 years, mainly pole sports. I’ve had fewer than 15 exotic classes in that time span, but I finally decided to do an intensive 3-month exotic class because I really wanna get better at it! I started with 8 inch faux suede boots but I’ve barely used them, mainly because I’ve felt they were too high for me. I then got 7 inch faux leather boots and I’m just so much more comfortable dancing with them. I don’t like how sweaty they make my feet, so I’m considering getting patent open-toed boots or patent sandals. This video has been so helpful, so I’m ALMOST sure what heel I want to get now!

I literally out of the blue got myself those nude pleaser ones as my first shoes and I am now so happy that this was randomly the perfect desicion haha!! I’m so lucky... I will definitely use your channel to start off my pole journey 😍🥰💪🏻

this is so helpful! my first pair of pole shoe was a patent 8-inch boots, helps so much with tricks and climbing! feels so sturdy when doing dance moves too!!!! After 4 months of dancing, now I'm getting heels in 8 inch clear straps. Would say that the heels are definitely less stable when dancing but it think its essential to train your strength and ankle using heels!! one good thing about heels is that they are much lighter, so it might help with pole tricks! 5 months into pole dancing now I buying another pair of white open toes 8-inch patent boots pleaser!!!

I am getting my first pair for mother's day and I found this video so helpful. I have been leaning towards black finishes, however, as a beginner and after watching this video, I'd like to start with clear shoes for the scuffing and beating I know they will take. I practice at home on carpet, so I will get a patent finish (absolutely love the sexiness of the gloss look ^_^) and I'll get a faux material for when going to a studio. You've got my follow. I bought my first pair of pleaser heels recently, and I have to say I never wear hight heels. I bought 2 pairs in my entire life and they were for special occasions so I only wore them like twice maybe, any they have an inch high heel probably. As I began my adventure with the more sensual side of pole dancing, I decided to buy my first pair of dancer heels. I got 7 inch closed faux leather boots. I usually wear size 6, 6.5 but I read the reviews and I sized up and got them in size 7, and they fit perfectly. I have no problems with my toes, they still give me alot of support. The only flaw with closed boots is the sweating, but its nothing a good wash can't solve 😁 thanks for the video 🤍🤍🤍

I've just bought a pair of 6 inch boots and honestly I'm happy with my decision as a beginner haha. I know you've said 7 inches to start off but I have a pair of 8 and it's WAY too unstable, so I think 6 feels better for a true beginner ESPECIALLY if you are someone who never wears heels and has no dance experience. But I wouldn't buy more than one 6 inch pair.

Yes. I would say 6 inch is SAFEST for beginners. Absolutely agree! I have 2 6-inch pairs because I particularly love them for floor work. Hah! Go figure

Bought my first set of pleasers last week and I’m obsessed with them. They were 50% off. $45 can’t get me a new pair of vans so they were mine. This video was very helpful!

I think I'm going for a sandal. I haven't decided on the material yet, but I saw some with really cute cutouts in the platform that I'm sortof in love with. There was another pair with a scalloped edge that I'm head over heels (hah) in love with, but they're on clearance, so may be gone by the time I actually pick up a pair. This was soooo informative! i recently got my first pair of heels. I have high arches, small feet (US womens size 6), and really WIDE feet. The heels I got are a closed boot, 7in, size 10, and let me say, with a ball of foot insole in those bad girls my feet don't slip forward at ALL. It's a really good shoe, and i went in-store to a specialty heel shop to try shoes on. I gotta say, when you have someone who pole dances themselves giving you advice on how the shoe should fit and feel (the person working there who was helping me try boots on), you end up with something perfect.

This was a good starting point in my research but I wish there was anyone with pole dancing experience on KZread that was older and heavier. Even when I lost a ton of weight to where my thighs didn't touch anymore I had a body shape that can only be described as "female linebacker". As I've gotten older I've become more comfortable with my body and now that I'm about to hit 40 I finally have the confidence to try to learn this dance form

You may love some grounded flows around the pole that are not as upper body taxing, however, you will still need some engagement up top of course.

I started with a 7 inch suede flexible criss-cross stripe one (Adore 769), and it felt too short very quickly. My second pair is an 8 inch Flamingo-808 with see trough straps. Love both, but for dancing won’t go under 8 inches again. I think. 😄 Totally agree with you in everything. Floorwork is better with a 7 inch. Thank you for the great video!

Thank you! I am 6.5 and I took your advice getting a pair of open-toe 7 inch boots in size 7, and Sandles with ankle straps in size 6. They all fit perfectly!! I literally mean it- puuuurfectlly!!! ❤️ I have a chubby feet with high arch, but my heel is small/narrow. I tried 7 size fully closed boots and feel a lot of space at the back-- however the front is tight enough that I don’t want to go one size down. I shall try different brands and see if there’s anything else I can do...

I wear 8 and a half , for me in sandals I go to an 8 since they don't feel as loose on my foot and the strap is a must for me , for boots I go to a size 9 and my feet feel so much more comfortable going up in size . I have red Pleaser thigh high boots , and yes even in a short length of time , especially these types of boots , are quite warm wearing them , but I have always loved my boots , I still have my first pair that I ever baught that are black from the year 2000 !!!

Hey just want to say this helped me alot, I still have a while before I start pole dancing since im 15 and plan on moving out when 18 to start pole dancing since my parents wont allow it, so I know when I get those shoes what size to take at the moment I have been for a year now a size 5 but my feet are like small so yeah! Thanks alot!

im probably going start off with a boot for the ankle support size 8 because im a 7.5 and have wide feet (im actually like a 7 wide but usually buy 7.5 to compinsate so for these im going to go up a whole size, to a 8) and then probably either clear boot with the sticky surface or a matte leather havent decided yet, I like both. @@PoleCulture sure thing ! As with any high heels it’s best to wear them around the house first before you actually wear them outside the house ect or doing pole dancing . You don’t want to end up with a twisted ankle ect . Pleaser has some great heels . Some I wouldn’t recommend wearing outside due to a potential risk fall especially those with a 10 inch + heel ! Not just that you don’t want to draw unwanted attention . Heels can be fun to wear ! First & formost you want to make sure the pair your buying is going to fit you properly . That’s key to buying any shoe .here’s a tip if your buying on line .As we all know you can’t try them on it’s best to size up just to be on the safe side . Know your shoe size prior to buying . Pleaser does have a sizing chart . Sizes can vary . The best thing to do is go to a local store that Carry,s that brand & some may not carry the full line . But you could go & get fitted . That would give you a idea on what size to get . Some do fittings . Me I’m starting out with a 7 inch heel first . I know it’s a pretty darn tall one to start out with . I liked the styling of that shoe .

Bought my first pair of heels at 6" cause I thought it'd be a good entry for heels (being a guy never worn heels). I just got my second pair for christmas which at 8" and my old heels look like a joke / so short!!! You were so right about the height!

I went to try on some shoes at my pole studio. With a 6.5-7 street shoe size, I had to size all the way up to an 8 in Pleaser heels! They weren’t kidding that they run a tiiiiiiny bit small. Def try them on.

This video is helpful AF! I’m a somewhat intermediate dancer and I do mostly floorwork. I already own several pairs of 8” clear sandals and I’m super comfortable in them but am looking to upgrade to 9” and want to switch up my look and go for patent; but I’ve been told patent will pinch if you have wide feet, but your toes would hang over if you have narrow feet (because patent doesn’t hold your feet back like clear does). Would love to know what you think, thanks again for making this video!

I size up for boots these days (I'm in between a 6 and a 7 so it's a paint in my butt). I really enjoy my patent shoes. I have small and narrow feet and ankles. I have yet to se CLEAR shoes with clear straps!!! I prefer the aesthetic of the colored straps so I couldn't tell you much here as far as comparison goes.... hmm.... My recommendation is to simply TRY your first patent pair :) You really don't know until you try these different shoes out to see what you like. I love the different finishes of the shoes for different dance styles.. for example... the patent heels will adhere to the pole and will make doing tricks on the pole easier... but they're a pain in the butt with certain floor types and you'll hate how stuck you get.... this is where I LOVE faux suede shoes!! Slide so much more.... but.... they stuck for pole climbing .... haha so it depends on your dance style that day, mood, clothes, etc..... get your first patent pair and try things out. I love my nude patent sandals and my white patent boots!!!

I bought my 1st pair and really wanted som closed two boots. I'm 6.5 and thought it would be best to get the 7 because boots tend to be tighter on me and I knew I'd be gutted if they starred to hurt over time.. anyway the size 7 fits great ! It's perfect not too big anywhere it's nicely snug so glad I got the 7

I’m glad I watched your vid before jumping to buy my first pair of Pleasers. Since I’m a beginner I think ima go for the 7” Treasure 708 in size 6 (I’m normally a 6 1/2) let’s see how it goes. Xo

This is such a good tip the funny thing is I've been pole dancing for a yr. my first stripper heels were the 9 inches lol i thought they were one size which is crazy because I got mine at Fascinations i wear a size 11 they are Pleasers but quite comfortable they're matte leather open toed sandals with the corset lace up with ankle support & I'm 5'7" no problem climbing but since I am tall I'm going to switch to 7, 8 inches Thank U for the tips

Just bought a patent 8" boot as my first heel and I loved it (it was the holographic green-purple). I'm a size 8 and it was just right even with thick socks. Now I wanna get a nude faux-suede boot for floorwork but Im scare about getting it dirty so easily 😅 and also the black faux leather sandal who has a skull in the platform. But at the same time I want something really catchy and colourful 😅

My first pair were the 7in strap Sandals, I moved to 8in pretty quickly. As for being in 1/2 sizes, I size up for Sandals and close toed boots, size down for open toe boots. I have long this feet😅

All shoes " go bad" fast.... especially if you put good use to them. Don't be quick to hate this as this is a lovely process and well-used shoes have their interesting aesthetic too :P

patent 7'' sandals is the only shoe i found in my size that isn't too expensive, but they're from the norwegian equivalent of craigslist or depop so i'll have to go and check the size and quality whenever i travel through the country i'd love a patent 8'' open toe boot when i get more comfy (and more money) though ^^ they look so badass

Yea save up. I know shoes can get a little pricey. Save up for a pair that goes with most of your training wear/outfits and that will be a pair you LOVE.

I am in between sizes 37,5 and had opportunity to try closed pleaser boots 37! And its perfect!! I was surprised cause I wear 38 in general. But what I realized is that when you dance ,or rollerblade ,or snowboard you want the shoe to be one with your foot ,fitting tight all around the foot. So I decided to buy my first closed boots ,but transparent pvc ones, what do you think about them? Please answer before I buy it😄❤️

i'm a size 6.5 as well and I always size up. My toes don't slide down so i'm happy about that.

Truth is, when I wear the boots, I sweat a lot through my feet too!!! I don’t think there is a way around this. I wear thick socks too 😂

Love this video! I adore 7's and 8's in every color and style, but interestingly I feel really constricted with the calf-high ones so it's either sandals or knee-thigh high boots for me

That's my problem. I'm in between 11 and a 12. Yes I'm a male that wears pleasers and pole dances. Me personally, I love the boots, especially open toe. I wish pleaser made half sizes.

Hi Courtney, I also wish they had half sizes -____- it's been quite annoying having to size up or down depending on the model. I agree, open toe boots are THE BEST

Hi ! Thanks for this video, I have narrow feet with flat arches as well as overpronation. What do you recommend I start with? Can I use flatform heels/boots ?

I have slight over probation.. hmm but I’m not expert on this. Perhaps seek medical advice if you’re going to be wearing extra high heels. Do you wear heels to go out regularly? Is it any problem? Hmm 🤔

You know, I've noticed depending on the day, I may sound different LOL............................... Idk if this is something I should go see someone about.............. haha I am joking, but I do notice changes. Anyway, I was born in America (Miami) and I have Cuban and Spaniard parents and upbringing.

Might I add it’s a lot easier to walk in thicker platform heals when you have long legs. As a personal tip. I have long legs and it’s harder to walk in smaller heals. 8in is a lot easier for me to walk in vs 6 or 7

That’s interesting. I actually feel more stable and safe walking in the 6 inches. However I prefer dancing the 8 inches because of my ability to access parts of the heels better when I’m dancing and transitioning through movement on the pole 🤔

I have about three shoe sizes. My main is a 7 1/2, but sometimes I have to go up to an 8 or down to a 7 for some shoes. It also depends on the brand of the shoe.

if its plastic sandals go half size up bc the plastic will hurt! you can blow dry the plastic to create room at a Low temperature blow dryer. going to try boots now. im a 6.5 btw so in plastic pump I started wearing a 7

I find US sizes interesting. I live in sweden and what you call inbetween sizes are just sizes here. I'm a 7.5 us I think, but that is 38 in euro sizes. Not sure why that is, but it does make things easier

​ @Adriana Valenzuela haha I know the feeling. Make sure you do your hip strengthening and ankle strengthening. You will get used to it over time.

As for the height, I think your feet size also matters. For pole dancers with smaller feet like size 5 and no heels experience, maybe it's not a bad idea to consider 6 inch or 7 inch for the first pair. Small feet = short insole = small bottom

For someone with bigger feet, the platform may be a bit bigger than that of a smaller size, but there is no advantage to that, because the platform size is relative to your own foot, non someone else's. 😄 Your math isn't right.

So I’m new and I’m already learning pole tricks mastered a couple hard ones! I want to know if boots would help better with sticking to the pole also protecting your feet my clear pleasers hurttt me

Patent finish of the shoe will help you adhere to the pole! Suede will make you slide haha ......... The close toe boots can provide more protection for toes, definitely :) hope this helps!

Question, at 12:44 you mention your recommendation based on the fact that when you started, you noticed that other girls had heels that looked better. Besides the natural "I want to look cool like that" feeling that we all get when we try something new, is there a good reason for a beginner to go for the 8"??? Another way to put it, is there a good reason for someone getting a 7" as a starter? Does the 7" heals make it more beginner friendly?

Daniel Marco an 8 inch heel is less stable than a 7.... as I say in the video, you can do 8 inches as a beginner, but then I’d recommend easing into it by using boots at 8 inches rather than a Sandle at first. This is because the boots provide a sense of stability that the sandals don’t. They wrap around your ankles and help you feel more locked in. There are no rules here, I’m simply encouraging girls to try 7 inches instead of 5 or 6, because you can get used to the height quickly and you’ll be glad you started at 7 instead of what everyone recommends (5 or 6inches). I know there’s a fear of height out there, but go for at least 7 inches to start. 8 inches for a beginner is ambitious but also doable.

Thanks for your video, this is so helpful. I am in between 35 to 36, and I tried both size 5 & 6 pleasers. I think size 5 is a little bit tight to me(My toes always on the ground when i do floor work. I hurt my toes sometime so I prefer to wear socks. But socks make size5 very tight🥲), but I am more confident to dance with size 5 than size 6. I can’t stand up stable and quick with size 6… maybe I should try another brand☹️
